  1. I separated from AD over a year ago and am now an AFRC TR. I haven't touched my Roth TSP since I separated and honestly kind of forgot I had it. Is there any benefit to me keeping it and picking back up the contributions vs. transferring it to my other Vanguard Roth IRA? The only benefit to the TSP was the matching portion, but I'd imagine I'd have to be AD for that to happen?
  2. Just FYI, you can do 100% of your VA disability stuff up until 1 year after separation and get back pay until your date of separation. This is what I did and had no issues.
  3. Seth is a really good dude and one of the biggest brains in the Herk community. I didn’t know he was doing ATPs but he should be everyone’s go to.
  4. Nothing a quick fax to the nearest base ops can’t fix.
  5. That's a nice set of Floggers right there
  6. When I was applying to OTS, my recruiter asked what other positions I'd like to put on my application. My words to him were "you can just put pilot down 3 times". He responded with "well putting other positions down shows the board that you're willing to do anything to join" and my response was "I'm not joining to be a nav. If I can't be a pilot, I don't want to be in the AF." I was selected for my pilot slot a few weeks later. Bottom line, don't put something down that you are not prepared to be doing for the next 6-9 years. You'll realize quickly that no one will look out for you but you.
  7. It's impossible to wash out of UPT these days so you'll probably be fine
  8. I'm a TR who can't travel to my unit because I'm out of the local area. It'd be nice to have that option but until then I'll just continue to sit on my ass, drink beer, and grow a beard.
  9. Sarcastic? I too am a junior guy with SWA and give me this job with the uncertainty over AD any day. I'd honestly rather go apply at Home Depot and sort hardware than plan an ORI or build a power point for the WG/CC.
  10. I'm not saying walk in there in flip flops with a cigarette in your mouth because you're guaranteed a job, but it's going to take a lot for us mil types to really fuck it up to not get a CJO from somebody. I personally don't know a single mil guy/gal that hasn't gotten a single CJO because they fucked up the interview, but of course anything is possible once the door is closed and it's just you and the company suits.
  11. The only thing keeping a mil dude from getting hired by ANY major right now is going to be a felony or failed drug test.
  12. I'm all for sticking it to the man, but I don't think I could ask for 21 days PTDY leading up to a 106 day block of leave with a straight face. My CC would probably get a good kick out of it too.
  13. The medical portion was probably the easiest of the entire process, at least with me. You schedule an appt with your SHPE, he/she will then schedule you a couple appts, and when those are complete, you'll get your 422. Pretty straight forward.
  14. I'm pretty sure AA will be hiring anyone with a pulse for the next 6-9 years, so as long as you're still breathing and have managed to keep your felony count to <2, you'll be fine.
  15. Stop what? Is anything I said untrue? I'm not speculating, I'm just saying something doesn't add up and I'll be damned if I'm going to take some Taliban reporter's account as truth.
  16. Something is not adding up. BACN usually hangs out in the bozosphere, way out of the reach of any RPG, SA-7, or rock that the Taliban can throw at it. Also, this is not the wreckage of a plane that slammed down from thousands of feet in the air. The fuselage is largely intact, and it almost looks like the fire started from inside given the burn patterns.
  17. RIP? Where are you seeing reports that there were fatalities?
  18. Depends how good of a deal the approach is to.
  19. I highly recommend Cockpit to Cockpit. It serves as a great checklist when you're starting to get your apps together and prep for interviews. Milkeep was worth its weight in gold. I went the Excel route originally, but inputting 3000 hours line by line pushed me to my breaking point. Best $200 I've ever spent.
  20. Copy. Almost zero combat credibility. I don't want to paint with a broad brush, but those types always seem to not get it.
  21. 2200 TT and 100 combat hours? Is that normal for an O-6 C-model driver?
