  1. This is the only known photo of Rainman... He's always saying he wears a bag to work! And it's not me, I'm not that young or thin! Cheers! M2

  2. Goddammit. It's not about a fucking career, dipshit. It's about serving your country the most effective way possible. What is in the best interest of our country? Having snake eaters that kill people and break their shit, or lowering the standards so that people can "pursue the career of their dreams."? This would be all well and good if we had equal standards across the board, but we don't. Last I checked, a woman could run the 1.5 two minutes slower than me and get a better score. Fine, let her work in finance where no one gives a fuck, but the dudes kicking in doors don't have that luxury. Not being able to carry your weight (or the weight of a fallen comrade) is a liability. Have you seen some of the shit those dudes did in the mountains of Afghanistan? It really makes NFL/NHL players look like pussies. Being able to hack it is the difference between life and death, not just mission success or failure. On a different note, men and women are different. That's not bad, or good. That's just a fact of life. Men are built to fight, hunt, and kill. Women are not. Men don't worry about "mensies" at certain times of the month. And most importantly - the enemy is ruthless. They won't treat men and women the same in POW situations. Yeah, maybe guys can get raped in the Hanoi hilton, but they sure as shit can't get pregnant from it. It's one thing to see one of your bros go through that. But the men fight so the women don't have to. It's a natural survival instinct. Propagation of the species and all that crap. I cringe at the idea of what the Taliban or Al Qaeda or the North Koreans would do to women captives. It's just not right.

  3. Once again this is about officers and being the chief of staff. The simple fact is the Army is commanded by Infantry, women by and large are not suited to be infantry soldiers. It's simply a too grueling life style for the female body to endure over a career, either you make concessions or the women fail, either way you have "leaders" with no credibility.

  4. Damn Steve, Don't waste the book on those neanderthals. Most of them cannot read unless the book should be accompanied with a box of Crayolas. Whatever you have left, send our way to Beale. We would love to have them.

  5. Like it is now? That's the problem with the liberal agenda, it's all about lowering the standard. It's happening not only in the military, but also immigration. We have too many illegals coming into the country, so the solution is to lower the requirements so they can be here legally. And I love how supportive nsplayr is of "official policy" as long as he agrees with it! I guess it's OK to enforce someone else's opinion on others, but never the other way around! Panetta's been a lackluster SecDef, and now he's trying to end his tenure with a bang (STS). I am reminded of a departing COCOM deputy commander whose going away speech was littered with all the things needing to be fixed in the command. Thanks, asshole, why didn't you address these problems when you'd still be around to deal with the consequences of your decisions? Chickenshit politics, clearly enough. And nsplayr, you can talk a good game; but deep down you are full of shit like every other liberal around. Go to your account settings, and there is an 'Ignore' Preferences setting. Type in 'nsplayr' in the 'Add a new user to your list,' check the appropriate containers (Ignore: [ ] Posts [ ] Signature [ ]Messages [ ] Chats) and select 'Save Changes.' If I get five bucks from everyone that does this to ignore nsplayr's posts, I'm taking the wife on a cruise! Cheers! M2

  8. He chooses to use our failures in Afghanistan as evidence of the declining efficacy of our military, which he links to the growing percentage of females. How then does he reconcile our performance in Vietnam? I don't like having women in the military, but neither they, nor gays, nor navs are the root cause of our modern woes, they are merely symptoms of much larger, systemic problems. And Canada certainly has this one figured out, their advon combat unit is a Tim Hortons on wheels, which they asked us to transport for them. Edit to add additional spear.

  11. Well,... since they want "gender equality" in combat jobs, I'm sure Secretary Panetta & Company will require that women begin to register for the draft.

  12. Remember you are talking to a liberal, they are a little slow on the uptake when it comes to government finances. (i.e. $16 Trillion in debt doesn't equal a spending problem or just borrow more money if you don't have enough)

  13. Lets not forget how much gear soldiers carry. It is heavy and a chicks gear will be heavier because they have to carry bras, shoes, tampons, pepper spray and a rape whistle.

  14. "I read somewhere their periods attract bears. Bears can smell the menstruation." "Well, that's just great. You hear that, Panetta? Bears. Now you're putting the whole military in jeopardy."

  15. Same physical standards upheld or not (they won't be), same capability to be a down-in-it grunt or not, adding females to male-dominated/oriented high-stress situations like, say, combat simply adds another, and very primal, stressor to the equation. Males, of any species, are males (save for the 10% gay ones that liberals like to make comparisons to) and will be influenced, usually negatively, by having females in fight situations. I will call BS for anyone that says introducing females into flying squadrons, artillery BNs, etc, hasn't produced ccok fights, friction, and trouble related to the mixing of males and females. It is, not even human, animal behavior. Add in house-to-house, getting the bejeezus shot out of you on a ridgeline, etc, etc, etc, and it's gonna cause problems. Ivan/Li Xu/Hajji, etc, are gonna have fun with this one. I am not hating on the females who do the job now. This is not about you the individual. This is about biology. Good luck, LT Snuffy, of 1st Platoon. You are gonna need it...

  16. My bad. Our senior military leaders and politicians would never lead us down the wrong path.

  17. "In addition, because of the changes in destination, the crew was unable to review the physical layout of MacDill during a preflight briefing, something Air Force rules recommend be done as often as possible." I guess after watching the 2nd Season of 24, there was not enough time during the flight 10 hour flight to at least glance at the Airfield Diagram/FLIP. Wxman

  18. That's the problem right there. Decisions like this should have nothing to do with feelings or emotions. Like the article says, the only thing that should be considered is will this have a positive or negative impact on combat capability. I think most combat professionals would argue that this is merely a political move that will in the end hurt combat capability. I just hope no one is injured or killed as a result of this decision. Edited cause I don't rite good

  22. No, it does not "check", leadership will be hypersensitive for them. Soon they will ban all forms of violence in combat to make it a safe work environment for women.

  23. I just heard leadership is out inspecting all front lines combat areas for any materials that might be unprofessional or present a hostile work environment. Additionally, unprofessional language will no long be tolerated in combat situations. (i.e "fuck me, they are shooting at us).
