If you get 10% disability or more from the VA you will be excluded from the VA funding fee for life. Normally, the first use of a VA will cost you 2.15% of the loan amount. Any subsequent loans will cost you 3.3%. If you put 5% down or more you'll save a significant amount (see my post below for an example). A VA IRRRL costs .5%. All of these significant fees are exempted by having any disability rating making the VA loan the best mortgage possible. I've seen a lot of people spend a lot of money on VA funding fees to just sell the house 3yrs later. You gotta run the numbers to make sure you're making smart financial decisions for your family. 4. The best thing about a space corps is that it will inevitably lead to a United States Space Academy...and at said academy there will be --- Space Cadets. I, for one, can't wait until space cadets are a real thing. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  5. Masked... other than the 25 Maj OPRs in your record.
  6. Guessing AFPC will ensure he gets passed over...
  7. I think more accurately it's: [insert service here] wants the funding associated with space "corps." Probably just a jaded view, though.

Thank God Phelps is racing a shark. I was starting to wonder if there were any real ing great Americans left... https://www.buzzfeed.com/stephenlaconte/michael-phelps-is-gonna-race-an-actual-ing-shark-for Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. It's an assignment, just like any other. Plenty of guys wanting fighters get non-vol'd to Buffs, Awacs, C-130s, and everything seems to work out just fine. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

To each their own. If the state wants to give me free license plates for life, then I will take it. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  11. Non-vol to T-38s. How screwed is the AF if a bunch of UPT studs don't even want to be fighter pilots?

Tennessee did that too. Wasn't restricted to air medals either you'd see guys with Bronze Star, MSM, etc. Lot of teasing until people realized just by the grace of being stationed at Ft Campbell you could get a free plate forever.

Here in Texas, a medal license plate to include the air medal, will get you free parking at the terminal so you don't have to park in the employee lot and wait to ride the bus with the cast of thousands.
  14. I already put money down on our new swimming pool
  15. It's pretty sad that I'm in this board but my give-a-shit factor is so low that I forgot the results were going to be released this summer.
  16. That may be the answer, it just pains me to think about the inevitable bloat that comes with a new CCMD. I trust the CSAF with regards to the timing of a new Space Corp. Also you know STRATCOM is going to put up a fight.
  17. I don't pay an annual subscription to BO.net to have the drama shut down just when it's getting good... Sent from my Vitamix 450x Professional using Tapatalk
  18. We are doing this all wrong, it needs to be Joint! SPACECOM, SOCSPA, JICSPA, SPAAF, SPAFLT, MARFORSPA, USARSPA. This is how you get more $$, GOs, and civilian billets!!! /s
