Alright, this will probably frustrate some of you but I can't figure it out. I have downloaded some zip files for MS2004 but don't know what to do after that to install them on the sim. If any of you could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I did look at the post about where to get the downloads but didn't see how to do them...FYI.

Ok guys, I have a couple questions. Im currently in Pcola for Strike/Fighter training. I will be starting API in a few weeks, so all of my training is still ahead of me. Our only two airframes are Bones and F-15Es. I know we have some Bone guys and Strike Eagle guys on here, my question to you, is what are your pros and cons of your airframes? How many Eagle or Bones slots come through, possibly more E slots? How long is the IFF course? FTU for Strike Eagles is 7 months I believe, how long is it for the Bone? Deployments? Basically my flightmates and I dont have too much info as of now, im sure we will get more later, but just some basic info from the crews …

Hi Everyone, I'll commission from AFROTC with a B.A. in Philosophy, but would really like to earn a B.S. in Physics or Engineering after UPT sometime so that I could possibly apply for TPS. Would this be feasible to do in the said amount of time? I know that you can take courses online, but those seem to mostly be for non-technical majors like history, management, etc. Plus, I'd imagine that getting a Physics degree would be pretty challenging for a pilot that has 10-14 hour work days as it is. Thanks for any input or advice. [ 05. March 2006, 23:26: Message edited by: FlyAF ]

Would it be safe to assume that strategic cargo units have more pilots assigned due to length of missions and utilization of relief crew? I am trying to figure out if the two C-5 guard units would have more slots than a guard fighter unit. I also realize that there are two pilots per mission at least. I would take the slot if I am offered, but they sure are hangar queens. [ 18. June 2006, 19:10: Message edited by: Toro ]

was just wondering the different ideas/therories behind the navy and AF having different refuleing setups. like the probe or the basket. why not have them all the same so that they would be interchangeable. [ 08. August 2006, 18:02: Message edited by: Toro ]

Leadville, Colorado has the highest field elevation in the United States and the third highest in the world. It sits at 9927' MSL. I am thinking of taking an OST (off station trainer) there in mid march. I am curious if anyone here has been to the airfeild. I tried a search but turned up nothing. The webiste for the airport has some interesting info, but I'm looking for firsthand military experience. Thanks!

I know this thread may be a bit of a downer and something many people aren't used to reading on this site. However, with that said, I am looking for those who may have any insite on the process, if any, on changing career fields. I know if you are permantly DNIF or there is some other outstanding circumstance which allows people to do this, but that's not my situation. I have given the pilot thing a chance and come to the conclusion that enviornment is making me miserable. Maybe it's my base, airframe, Sq...who knows. Unfortunatley I have quite sometime left on my contract which ended after UPT. I know that contract ties me to the AF rather than just the pilot world…

I want to start using an online logbook. I have heard of many people keeping their logbook on Excel, but I like the redundancy of the internet. Does anyone currently use an online logbook or have a recommendation about which one to use?

Neville- I appreciate you sending me four emails. Baseops gave you his apology, now leave our forums alone. Be a man and just walk away. It is very poor form of you to threaten Baseops wil legel action. He's done nothing wrong and his website is on no way affiliated with the mighty US military. With that said, STOP EMAILING ME. Harassment suits are much easier to win than internet suits. HD [ 09. August 2004, 17:28: Message edited by: HercDriver24 ]

Are all AF aircraft equipped for MLS approaches? I've seen several KC-135's practice the MLS approach into Boise, but never any F-15s or 16s from Mountain Home or the A-10s and C130s out of BOI. Most of the time they will just practice the ILS with a low approach. I don't know of too many MLS systems out there. So is it just from an equipment standpoint, tactical, or what?

Awhile ago, someone posted a pic of an AMC patch that said "Another Missed Christmas" and some other stuff, and I was wondering if there are other "alternative" names for MAJCOMs. I'm familiar with the AETC ones...Adults Eternally Treated like Children, etc. How about others?

During a real, no-kidding inflight emergency with an IP, does the IP take over and run through the boldface/checklist items, or does he allow the student to work it out on his own? How does that work? Thanks!

Alright, so I have been studying for finals all weak (dead weak) and during this time I have gone through at least 4 pens or more. None of the pens that I have used really pleased me. I want something that looks professional. So, this is kind of an off subject question, what kind of pens do some of the other cadets or even officers use that are on these forums?

At water survival, they put a lot of emphasis on parachute training for everybody, but does everybody get parachutes? Obviously the ejection seat folks have that option, but what (if any) heavies do? Herks? And in that, what kind of training do they give us for that kind of egress? "Try to put it in a slight climb, and then run like hell..."

Anybody have any success in getting the FAA to sign off on the new Hawker 400XP type in addition to the BE40 and Mitsubishi Diamond? Beech has renumbered their assembly line, much like Gulfstream did, and apparently the Hawker 400 is the equivalent to our T-1 but I have not heard of anybody getting all three types out of UPT yet. Thanks- Guppyguy
