Does anyone know where I could get a hold of the specifications for a 1973 Piper Cherokee 140. Things like ramp wt., useable fuel, v-speeds. I've tried sportys and google but no luck. Thanks for your help

Anyone ever done a Report of Survey? I got tagged by my squadron to be the investigating officer for some stolen/missing equipment. Have not found anybody in the squadron who has done one that has time to answer a few questions. It's an interesting additional duty but going through regs is a pain. Grandpa [ 08. Why? Am I alone in thinking it has to do with a stretched to the max military and an unsustainable ops tempo that have whittled some sharp points dull? I have always been the guy that says The Man is out to A$$ F#@ you and Im sure the aircrews will get blamed somehow. I just hope something gets done besides blaming the broken aircrews. Shits just not falling out of the sky for no reason. Either the airframe or the crew is breaking.

Wall Street Journal December 6, 2010 Pg. 1 China Clones, Sells Russian Fighter Jets By Jeremy Page ZHUHAI, China—A year after the collapse of the Soviet Union, a cash-strapped Kremlin began selling China a chunk of its vast military arsenal, including the pride of the Russian air force, the Sukhoi-27 fighter jet. For the next 15 years, Russia was China's biggest arms supplier, providing $20 billion to $30 billion of fighters, destroyers, submarines, tanks and missiles. It even sold Beijing a license to make the Su-27 fighter jet—with imported Russian parts. Today, Russia's military bonanza is over, and China's is just beginning. After decades of import…

First, this is easily one of the best and most informative websites on pilot training and how to get there. Secondly, as my first posting, my question deals with the opportunities for ANG pilots to become instructor pilot's within the various SUPT bases. I'm aware of the reserves having that ability, but how about the guard?

How long do units/wings generally have between UCIs? Is it a set date, or more of a moving target? We just finished ours, so I'm curious as to when we can expect the next round of pain.

I have some 'basic' questions about my knowledge in the military. My apologies for any knowledge that are obvious and should be known by now. I'm a High School Senior and I'm looking forward to the ROTC (Scholarship) Program, but I'm not sure. For now, the Air Force interests me most, then Army, then Navy which I'm not exactly sure if I should apply for it. Perhaps I might apply to all of them and consider later with their scholarship offers. But in any case, I'm going for an Engineering Major (Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical). Now I've looked around the forums and to my knowledge, many people who know they want to be straight-up pilots when commissioned, majo…

Deployed tactics guy. We're going to start using PPR's for certain airfields in theatre. The following question arose: do PPR's have an effective time? (i.e. +/- 1hr ETA). Looked through GP and other FLIP but can't find guidance. Back home, if ETA ever changed, we'd just give OPS at arrival station a heads up over the phone but keep the same PPR. This always worked so I never questioned it. Anyway, now it's an issue.

I was just wondering if it's possible to switch from an ANG unit to an AFRES unit or vise versa? If so, can it only happen after the 10 year commitment? Is it possible to switch to a unit with a different airframe? Also, what are the chances of a ANG/AFRES person going back and flying part time at an UPT base? I'm just looking to get a more thorough idea of how things work. Thanks!

I commission into the active duty Air Force via an interservice transfer in August. AFPC/DP2LT is saying I need to PCS to my gaining unit (OCONUS) to in-process and then proceed TDY for my initial -135 PIQ course. The MSgt at the AFPC office is concerned that I won’t get paid if I don’t in-process prior to going TDY. When I reached out to my gaining base finance, that MSgt was wondering why I needed to go there first and not just do a TDY enroute. I realize doing an interservice transfer is a rare occurrence, but would anyone know applicable AFIs or AFMANs that might apply? Or, just know the answer? For many reasons I’d rather go TDY enroute than PCS and I’m hoping I…

Anyone have the reg numbers that state the amount of crew rest needed for non-flying activities such as days with academics and simulator training? I know it is 12 hours for flying ops but what about the above listed? I feel like my scheduler is screwing us but I don't recall the rest required and can't find it written anywhere. Thanks

https://www.edwards.af.mil/Units/USAFTPS/ Does anyone here have experience with the space test course? The website is pretty vague, and doesn't really explain who its targeted for or what its like beyond "college academics". It seeming to be a sister school to TPS makes me intrigued that it might be more hands-on than just college classes in the desert.

Places to go? Etc... Also does anyone know long it takes to get to the Airport on the other side of Fairbanks? Thanks. [ 29. May 2006, 16:14: Message edited by: CrewDawg1 ]

Here's the deal, after ten years of civilian life, I've decided that it's time to serve again. (I did nine years on active duty.) I've talked to a reserve unit, and will soon schedule a physical to get the ball rolling. In the mean time, I was wondering if there's anybody out there who can help me with some questions concerning the viability of my choice, and what other options might be available to me with other units or career fields. Anybody with any AWAC background or insights would be especially appreciated. Good afternoon, anyone have a good ADSC waiver template for retirement? I submitted my application in myPers but the request was returned because I didn’t provide justification in a separate MFR. however the Retirement PSD clearly states separate memorandum OR add justification in the comments section. Anyone else run into this problem? TIA

Mods, I know this isn't aviation-related, but it can get eligible folks some free money, so I thought I'd try posting it... To all of you out there who have MN as HOR, check out www.thankmntroops.org It's a completely LEGIT organization that has collected donations in order to give out grants to all active-duty/guard/reserve bubbas -- all branches of service, active or retired or separated. Just need to have MN documented as your HOR, and must have deployed to a combat zone since 9/11. More info on the website. Heck, it may only be a couple hundred bucks (might be a lot more, depending on your circumstances [disabled, etc]), but it's free money, no strings at…

China, Russia Conduct Military Exercises By BURT HERMAN VLADIVOSTOK, Russia (AP) - Russia and China launched their first-ever joint military exercises Thursday on a Chinese peninsula jutting into the Yellow Sea - an eight-day event that symbolizes the two countries' bolstered ties since the end of the Cold War. Moscow and Beijing will stage a mock intervention to stabilize an imaginary country riven by ethnic strife. But they insisted the ``Peace Mission 2005'' exercises - which started Thursday and include some 10,000 troops from land, sea and air forces - were not aimed at a third country. ``Our exercises don't threaten any country,'' Gen. Yuri Baluyevsky…
