Not a huge fan of NPR, but I thought this was a nice article about the venerable 135. It was a nice airplane to fly. https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...toryId=95484569

Interesting story on Fox... https://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/15/general-reportedly-said-was-pressured-to-change-testimony-on-white-house-backed/ I don't know much about General Shelton but I have been following the lightsquared issue for a while now and it sure seems that have been able to fast track through the FCC despite the frequency proximity to GPS and power of their network vs. the GPS signal.

  3. Keep an eye-- 47th FS A-10s are making their way to Randolph today, and Vance tomorrow. A few of us will be around to show off the Hog and tell some lies about things we've done over the last decade to 1/4 century. On the official note, and the reason this didn't go straight to the Squadron Bar forum, a handful of us FTU IPs were invited to take a roadshow of UPT by MGEN Wills. One of our IPs is heavily involved in some online forums, and his continued commentary (always constructive... mostly) generated the all-expenses paid trip to see what all this hullabaloo is all about first-hand. We've got questions from our perspective as the next in-line to the UPT/IFF p…

Hey Guys, Looking to gather some info on an upcoming PCS. There’s a potential to go on a marine exchange. Have any of you bros done one? Looking to see if it’s a good opportunity/QOL. Any general experience is helpful, however this is a F-35 marine exchange to be specific. Thanks!

This is a good article on what happened to all those Dornier's that used to fly for the regionals: https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/check-out-the-us-department-of-state-air-wings-shadowy-1634123990

I have searched and asked around, now for the almighty baseops to come to the rescue. Where did the term motherhood come from as it pertains to briefings before a sortie?

This is probably going to be a significant event, so I'm making a separate thread. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol just declared Martial Law for the entire country. He said there are North Korean Sympathizers in the Parliament and they are attempting to Sabotage the Government with "Anti-State Activities". The President said he is going to “Eradicate Pro-North Korean Forces and protect the Constitutional Democratic Order.” In other words, the political party in power is accusing the opposing party of colluding with a foreign adversary, and is using it a pretext to "pause" democracy. Tanks…

It is interestind that today is the 4th anniversary of 9-11, there is the small mater of cleaning up after Katrina, and let us not forget we are still at war, yet the only thing being discussed are hats, bags and tools. Are these really the most important things on your minds? If so, it is time for a reality check. How about a thread with some depth?

I know that air warriors is supposed to be the forum for naval aviator questions but I could not find anything on this. I was wondering what aircraft the Navy is handing out during track selects, I assume they hand out a lot more helicopters than the AF does? Was curious how many fixed wing, non fighter aircraft that they drop or plan to drop in the next couple of years. I see that there's a big order of P-8A Poseidons for the Navy. Anyway, just weighing my options between the USAF and USN, which one might be better for a pilot slot? Thanks.

  12. I'm looking for a military aviation or general aviation internship, something part-time online if possible. I have already emailed multiple military aviation foundations and nonprofits but so far have not gotten a response. I am good at web design, graphics design, Microsoft Excel, etc. Does anyone know of internships that are available and remote? If not remote, I'm currently living in Phoenix AZ but willing to drive if needed. Thanks!

So my daughter *may* be headed to GK, I've already looked up the German pet requirements for them, but a quick question: Anybody have any suggestions on pet travel to Germany? I know Lufthansa has a good pet program, as does my employer. I'd love to hear any gouge or recommendations anyone might be willing to share. Leave the vehicles and purchase through the exchange? I separated from active duty before my daughter was born but she still thinks I know everything about everything so any help here is appreciated. Thanks!

Since I am not getting the money for college that I was supposed to get, I am considering enlisting in the Air Force for 4 years, get out, use my GI Bill, go to college, and then come back as an officer. The only AF jobs that are available to me, and the ones that I'm interested in, are (2T0X1) Traffic Management, (2T2X1) Air Transportation, and (4Y0X1) Dental Assistant. I was wondering if anyone in-the-know here can fill me in on these positions, maybe give some pros and cons. Also, is it worth keeping my car if I enlist or should I sell it? I know I probably won't need it if I get deployed, but then again I don't know if I'll be deploying whole lot with either of these …

  17. For all of the airdroppers out there, here's a USA Today article about precision airdrops, https://www.usatoday....rops/52902982/1. I was in the Tactics shop in Bagram back in 2006 when this was introduced into Afghanistan. Good to see it is still successful and getting the guys the stuff they need to kick ass and survive!

We recently created a video describing the basics of doing an Official and Morale phone patch including setting up the radio. Hope you find it useful. https://youtu.be/s_67j_VP8NA

I will be putting in my nav package in January...hoping to get a Strike Eagle slot. I will have 3 years active in January, and won't start UNT until May at the earliest. So, I wouldn't be at my first actual assignment until around Jan '08 at the earliest...making me a 2 year captain at that point. Will lack of flying hours affect career progression, and will it be harder to get selected for Weapons School?

  22. Littlerockcrashpads.com has been in business since early 2016, and is the second oldest and the longest running crashpad operator in the Little Rock Air Force Base area. We were the first to offer support to military members and their families who are TDY to the C-130 school house. If you get orders to Little Rock AFB and want to bring your family with you, consider sending us a message on our web page at www.littlerockcrashpads.com and ask us if we have availability. See you soon! CP

I picked up golf recently and I have a kind of mis-matched set (dad and grandfathers old clubs). I want to buy some new clubs, but not spend a ridiculous amount. I know its a little off the subject, but I wanted to get opinions of people not trying to sell to me. Any suggestions on what to stay away from, or what would be a good beginner set? Thx

Found out I'm going to Columbus AFB for UPT. Is it worth looking for a place to rent/buy off-base or should my wife and I just live on base? No kids, no pets, just us two. Buying would be more for the real estate aspect, so any info on the market down there would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
