It is interestind that today is the 4th anniversary of 9-11, there is the small mater of cleaning up after Katrina, and let us not forget we are still at war, yet the only thing being discussed are hats, bags and tools. Are these really the most important things on your minds? If so, it is time for a reality check. How about a thread with some depth?

I'm looking for a military aviation or general aviation internship, something part-time online if possible. I have already emailed multiple military aviation foundations and nonprofits but so far have not gotten a response. I am good at web design, graphics design, Microsoft Excel, etc. Does anyone know of internships that are available and remote? If not remote, I'm currently living in Phoenix AZ but willing to drive if needed. Thanks!

https://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704409004576146001069880040.html "In November 2010, each branch of the military issued a final report on the Fort Hood shooting. Not one mentioned the perpetrator's ties to radical Islam." Even after this rampage, the military still refuses to identify the true enemy we are fighting that is the ideologies of radical Islam. Another example of the type of officers in leadership in today's military, risk adverse, politically correct, and lacking spine. Thoughts?

Hey all, hopefully someone has a clue regarding my question... Currently, I'm a guardsman on AD for nav school. I was a guardbum loadmaster before leaving for training, but am unsure of how good bumming will be when I get done with training. I've started to look at my options in the federal civilian sector on USAJobs. My question is, am I even eligible to apply for a civilian fed job while on AD? If I am, will they even look at my application if I'm putting my first available date isnt for a year (UNT/follow on 130 school)? Or is it possible to apply and if I'm the most qualified applicant, to get a job and just not start until I'm off AD? Anyone have any exp…

Hello, I'm a 62 year old pilot wannabe, who does all his flying (and controlling) virtually on VATSIM. One of my favorite aircraft is the C-130H. In an attempt to fly it more realistically, I have been trying to figure out the proper loading of fuel. I downloaded Fuel Calculator v2.0 from your site, but there are required entries based on parameters I can't figure out. Any chance someone would be willing to do a little tutoring? Certainly not looking for anything classified, just trying to do things real world style, and Microsoft Flight Simulator doesn't come close in this area. Thanks.

Article from the Associated Press discussing the advantages of Satellite based flight data recording over traditional "black boxes" in regards to commercial aviation. Interesting read. Aviation Thinks Outside The Black Box.

I was talking to somebody today about a funny video clip I saw on a website like ebaum's world or something and he asked if we could get in trouble for looking at that kinda stuff while in the VOQ's....is that the case? Would I get in trouble for going to a website like break.com or ebaum's world while here at Maxwell? I understand that if on a work computer you're not supposed to do that, but what about the computer in you own room? I know it's a bit off topic, but I wanted to show him some funny video clips and I didn't wanna get in trouble for something silly like that. [ 02. July 2006, 09:56: Message edited by: Toro ]

After graduating High School I decided to take a year off from school and get a job so I can pay off my college tuition. Currently I work as a contractor for a small firm, it's a 6 days a week, 9-10 hours a day job. I realize once I start college next year there is no way I will be able to keep this job and still have time to study. I would like to know from you college graduates, what kind of jobs did you hold that didn't keep you too much from books and studying? I'll need at least $300-$350 a week so what would you suggest I look into? [ 07. November 2004, 15:14: Message edited by: Raccoon ]

Hi everyone, I have been debating for a little while going into the guard/reserve. Currently I am working as a regional pilot based out of O'Hare. I am 27 and hold a bachelor's degree but my GPA is sitting at 2.6. I served 5 years in the Army guard as an engineer (enlisted). For my total time I have around 1700 hours with roughly 600 in the CRJ. My questions to you all is, do I stand a chance? I really don't care what I fly, heck it can be a Cessna 172. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Keep an eye-- 47th FS A-10s are making their way to Randolph today, and Vance tomorrow. A few of us will be around to show off the Hog and tell some lies about things we've done over the last decade to 1/4 century. On the official note, and the reason this didn't go straight to the Squadron Bar forum, a handful of us FTU IPs were invited to take a roadshow of UPT by MGEN Wills. One of our IPs is heavily involved in some online forums, and his continued commentary (always constructive... mostly) generated the all-expenses paid trip to see what all this hullabaloo is all about first-hand. We've got questions from our perspective as the next in-line to the UPT/IFF p…

Did the search but drew a null. Here's the deal. Boy is starting IFR and CFI has recommended Microsoft’s Flight Simulator 2OO4 to get him up to speed on procedure... says it will save him flight time, i.e. $$$, in the long run. Here's the question: Does anyone have experience - good, bad or ugly - with the yoke and rudder pedals made by CH Products? (see https://www.chproducts.com/retail_flash/index.html) Before the fool goes out and poaches a neighbor’s heifer to pay for the outfit, I want to know if the hardware is worth the effort.

I know that air warriors is supposed to be the forum for naval aviator questions but I could not find anything on this. I was wondering what aircraft the Navy is handing out during track selects, I assume they hand out a lot more helicopters than the AF does? Was curious how many fixed wing, non fighter aircraft that they drop or plan to drop in the next couple of years. I see that there's a big order of P-8A Poseidons for the Navy. Anyway, just weighing my options between the USAF and USN, which one might be better for a pilot slot? Thanks.

From BBC News A Nato aircraft has crashed in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, a Nato spokesman has said. It was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties. The crash was not the result of enemy fire and the plane which was supporting a Nato mission in the area was not a fighter jet, Maj Scott Lundy said. Nato forces are at the scene but there is no word on how many people were on board. A large Canadian contingent is based in Kandahar province. To the fallen Cooter [ 02.
