1 – Keep it civil
If you don't have anything constructive to say, keep your mouth shut. Opinions are great, constructive criticism is encouraged, third grade retorts are right out. Threads that devolve into pissing contents will be locked. If your post starts to drag a thread in that direction, it will be removed. If you continue to instigate, you may face suspension of your posting abilities.
2 - Listen before you speak
A wise man once said, "You have two ears and one mouth, so you ought to listen twice as much as you talk."
Fighter squadrons have a rule that you can’t speak until you’ve had been there a year, and there's some wisdom to this; don't just show up here spouting your wisdom to dudes who are not only veterans to this board, but veterans to the Air Force. Hang out a while, read the posts, and be a fly on the wall. You'll see who's legit and who is generally clueless. This will prevent you from a severe case in foot-in-mouth-itis when you try to tell a combat proven pilot that he knows nothing while you sit at home waiting to see if your UPT package has been approved.
3 – UTFSF
Before you ask a dumb question, make sure it hasn’t been asked and answered – use the search function at the top right of each page.
4 - If it's been talked about before, keep it in the same thread.
After you follow Rule 3 but don't find exactly what you're looking for, revive one of the old threads instead of starting a brand new one. In other words, if you're trying to find information on housing at Del Rio and you find lots of old posts with Del Rio info, but nothing specifically answers your question - post your question at the end of one of those threads. This makes it easier for future searches so that 690 threads don't pop up when they try to search for "Del Rio Housing"
5 - Give it a subject line that makes sense
This seems anal, but there are several reasons. (1) If you have a nebulous subject like "Serious question" you're potentially not going to get answers from as many people as if your subject line was "Where to find Jeremiah Weed?" (2) It makes it easier for serious searches; the poor sap who types "SERE" into the search function will have a much easier time with specific subjects like "What do I bring to SERE?" vice just "SERE".
6 – No unpaid advertisements
Unpaid advertisements and promotion of outside websites are not allowed. Individual items are allowed to be sold in the “Market Place” forum within in accordance with the rules of that forum. For questions on paid advertising on this board, use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of each page.

SpaceX is suing to be considered along with ULA, the Boeing/Lockheed venture, to launch "national security" satellites into space. SpaceX is claiming to be able to launch for $300 million less than the current contract which was written on a non-competitive basis. This is the kinda thing I've been waiting for, though not sure how successful they're going to be since they're not even certified yet. Given the weight that the current contract owners have, success is unlikely in this first go around. Over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show as a photographer. Thought I'd add a couple of shots. (Have literally hundreds more, it was that good a weekend...) As you may know the bulk of D-Day activity started 70 years ago today, 6 June 1944. However, the first 'element' of the invasion sailed not on 6 June but actually on 4 June. The element was composed of 4 miniature submarines that sailed at dark from England. Their mission was to approach the Normandy beaches and sit offshore, occasionally raising their periscopes to recon the proposed landing area. I did a search and couldn't come up with anything so if this is a repost I apologize in advance. I have been out of the game for a while but I made a pretty penny with Apple (AAPL) back in the 2003 time range. I told myself to buy Ford (F) back in 2010ish when it was down around a $1.00 a share but never went through with it...and I will always regret not buying. But now Apple is back in the $94 range since it just had a 7 way split and I am contemplating getting back in. While I don't think Apple is the power house has been for the past 5 years I still think it will go back up a decent amount (probably not $700-800 sadly). Any other favorites out there?

I have a request for anybody at Columbus (CBM) or in AETC (ATC back in my day) Here goes, Is there any way I can find out how many students started in my UPT class. We were class 87-04, we started in April 1986 and graduated March 13, 1987. Its a Mystery to all of my classmates as to how many started UPT. We estimated it around 70 studs but the numbers vary widely. We graduated 27, but a few were washbacks from previous classes. I called te base library, and the historian, but they never returned calls. So my question is, are there records that show how many students started out?, and how can I find them?
