  2. Concur but we have options if we are willing to / allowed to change force structure and fleet composition The -47 sounds like it will have the range needed to be less dependent on the tanker, if we think the priority fight is the Indo-Pacific then we prioritize systems for that theater and divest some of the older shorter range platforms to get more of what we need. Not immediately of course but soon. Off hand, more B-21s, unfornicate the -46 and certify for unrestricted ops, get a long range UCAV (not a CCA). The F-15EX probably mixes well into this too for its reported range (790 NM). That’s a relevant combat range with a tanking south of the PI to ingress to the Taiwan Strait.
  3. I’m in an Armor division, we drives tanks on residential graded streets routinely. They didn’t build special streets on Cavazos, Bliss, Carson, etc, the tank trail is really there because the asphalt wears the track pads faster than dirt does. There are videos out on YouTube of Abrams tanks giving a demo in a commissary parking lot. Asphalt roads in the US are built to a 200 PSI standard before deformation. The Abrams in full combat kit puts down ~17 PSI. The Horses in the parade put down 25z If you’re making this argument that Armor somehow destroys roads (when they do less damage than heavy truck traffic) you are in the idiot category. Here let me google that for somebody that needs it… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Those are German roads. Built to a higher standard 🙂
  7. Just a public service announcement as we get closer to it… The first planning conferences for the Army’s 250th birthday parade happened before the 2024 election. The people upset about this are finding any of number of reasons to include fabrications of reality on what had to be done to have the parade. Tanks, along with Bradley’s and Paladins all have “special rubber pads” as standard on them at all times… oh and they can and do drive on normal asphalt roads every day without damage. So anybody making that point is an idiot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Shit talking in baseball actually makes more sense to me than in football. Talk too much in football and the guy might get some extra anger strength and make you pay. Baseball is 90% mental, so you get inside their nugget, you might get an advantage. Not to say that wouldn't happen in football, but a bit tougher to knock a lineman out of his game by talking smack.
  9. Since they were already at war it’s more like the Doolittle Raid; calling it Pearl Harbor makes it sound like Russia is some kind of victim.

  15. So, it's obviously been a few years since this post. Does anyone out there know of a A10 Breitling order going on that I can jump into? Should have gotten one years ago, but didn't. LMK, Cheers, Deano a10cajun@gmail.com
  16. I stayed because I love military flying and deploying. The pay isn’t airline pay but it’s comfortable. The only reason I’m gonna hit the retirement button is because my airframe is likely going away and after 20 years of never leaving the cockpit, I’ll be dammed if I’m going to a staff.
  17. Controversial airport watchlist program terminated by DHS amid weaponization concerns In summary - "It is clear that the Quiet Skies program was used as a political rolodex of the Biden Administration — weaponized against its political foes and exploited to benefit their well-heeled friends. I am calling for a Congressional investigation to unearth further corruption at the expense of the American people and the undermining of US national security," "The department says Quiet Skies has not prevented any terrorist attacks..." DHS says that the list of exemptions of people who avoid "security policies" included "foreign royal families, political elites, professional athletes, and favored journalists." The department also cited that during the Biden Administration Tulsi Gabbard was placed on the Silent Partner Quiet Skies list.
  18. If you have any chance of using the GI Bill for higher education, for you or a dependent, save it for that. Right now my daughter is getting just over 90k a year for school from the GI Bill. So when I got my ATP, I bit the bullet and paid for it all out of pocket.
  19. I'm fairly confident even AETC doesn't know the answer to that question...
  20. Baseop’rs, We’ve got 2 positions on the west coast (NorCal and Hawaii) available for a Category E IMA position (non flying) with Civil Air Patrol -USAF. We provide congressionally mandated oversight of Civil Air Patrol and serve as liaisons between CAP and the Air Force. Unique job, must be self-motived. All the regular readiness items (CBTs and fitness test…). Great opportunity to make a difference with motivated CAP cadets. Pros Very flexible, low/no threat of deployment MPA is normally available if you want to be more involved. O-5 promotion possible (I’m proof of that) with PME and above average participation. Limited paid Category B IMA slots for flying or leaderships positions. Cons Can’t buy Tricare or transfer the post 9-11 GI bill. Low/no pay. Expect 10-15 days of MPA for travel outside your local area per year. More MPA is normally available if you want to do more. Rest of your points are for no pay. It’s an IMA job. You’ll have to be able to work independently and get stuff done. Takes about a year to get it figured out. Works better if you live close to a base. Must live in NorCal or Hawaii. Must have 3 years retainability. No UIFs. PM me if you want to talk about it. Thanks for reading this far. -Ed
  21. Quick, everyone short Tesla for a week, then buy it again low. They'll hug it out on Thursday, I hear.
  22. Also, you have to have your class 1 medical to be reimbursed via GI Bill.
  23. Shit talking in non-contact sports is funny to me. Especially when hitting a baseball is already incredibly hard, more than two-thirds of the time people don’t get a hit? Yeah let’s talk some shit. ‘Unwritten rules of baseball exist to protect the fragile egos of pitchers.’ -Jomboy That said, I’m always down to watch America’s pastime, slam some beers and $ hot dogs. 27. It will cover all the CTP if you use an approved school, such as Delta. For the the practical you have to submit a certificate reimbursement, only covered $2500. Don’t remember off the top of my head how many months. Hotels for Sanders are about 15-20 min drive, but right near all the food. Accommodations on site are single wide trailers, they have kitchens with all the basics for cooking. I went in the winter, I was happy I stayed on site, we had some weather roll in and sorties kept getting delayed/pushed for a couple days, but the schedule changes were last minute so it was nice being right be there. (Was no fault of the school, cold temps/LL icing, but each day was forecast to clear up as the day went on, so they were leaning forward trying to get people done) Being in the trailers with some of the other folks I got some good gouge that was passed to them I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten. Trailers have WiFi but no TVs. Couple guys stayed in hotels in my group, they seemed equally as pleased being close to food/walmart and having a gym. Pricing was about the same.
