  2. Timothy Michael "Tim" Giardina (born 1957) is a retired United States Navy officer and formerly the deputy commander of U.S. nuclear forces.[2][3][4] In May 2014, all charges associated with counterfeiting were dropped by the Navy, but he was fined and reprimanded for two specifications of conduct unbecoming an officer and gentleman. The specifications included 1) not reporting exactly what valuables he found in a casino bathroom when he initially reported finding valuables to casino management and 2) lying to an Iowa investigator in the casino when questioned about the incident. As a result of being suspended pending resolution of the ongoing investigation, Giardina reverted to the rank of rear admiral[5] Navy career [edit] Giardina graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.[6] Counterfeit poker chips [edit] In June 2013, Giardina was caught using three counterfeit gambling chips in a Council Bluffs, Iowa, casino.[7] Giardina was investigated by the Navy and suspended from duty in September 2013. Later investigation revealed that someone had altered several $1 chips into $500 chips with adhesive tape and paint. It was further alleged that Giardina would spend approximately 15 hours a week on occasion playing poker.[8] In May 2014, he was found guilty of two counts of "conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman." He reverted from vice admiral to rear admiral, was removed from his position as deputy commander at Strategic Command, and was given a staff officer position in Washington, D.C.[9] Guilty plea for obstruction of justice [edit] In 2025, Giardina pled guilty to obstruction of justice after he gave false testimony for a tenant of his during a bail bond proceeding. 3. This guy... https://nncwa.com/retired-admiral-convicted-of-obstruction-of-justice-for-false-statements-during-newport-news-bond-hearing/ Busted in 2014 for fake gambling chips, fired from deputy STRATCOM, busted down a star, forced retirement. Now this. Lied for his side-piece and got caught. Was the speechwriter at the time. What a conceited, arrogant...individual then. Turns out he's just a douche...then and now.
  4. Have you met the Senate?
  5. Today
  6. At Vance waiting for UPT instead of IPT but we've just been doing inprocessing stuff mostly. The rest of the time you can do whatever but moving in also takes a large chunk of time
  7. So I looked up the actual bill details: Sec. 112030. Reduction of excise tax on firearms silencers. SEC. 112030. REDUCTION OF EXCISE TAX ON FIREARMS SILENCERS. (a) In General.--Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows: ``(a) Rate.--There shall be levied, collected, and paid on firearms transferred a tax at the rate of-- ``(1) $5 for each firearm transferred in the case of a weapon classified as any other weapon under section 5845(e), ``(2) $0 for each firearm transferred in the case of a silencer (as defined in section 5845(a)(7)), and ``(3) $200 for any other firearm transferred.''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by this section shall apply to transfers after the date of the enactment of this Act. No mention of SBR as we said earlier so it will have to be added. Unlikely.
  8. That's pretty much how the second half of 2024 went down. Some SUPT drops had to share 2 or 3 fighters between the 3 bases.
  9. Funding for the pro-Ukraine propaganda machine in the US dried up. Not sure if that was due to USAID being axed, or something else. Either way, much like "no bucks, no Buck Rogers," when there is no funding for propaganda, you get no wailing from the US middle and upper classes about Ukraine.
  10. USAF EN studs will not begin attending IPT until ~2027-2028. Unsure about international
  11. Sales will be crazy for a while...
  12. Yup. The process needs to go away for volume to increase enough to bring prices down. I dunno, I'm skeptical, but optimistic.
  13. That alone would be amazing, but even better if we can buy a suppressed SBR at Walmart the way George Washington intended.
  14. Yesterday
  15. I'm predicting the tax goes away but registration and forms process stays. Maybe they'll surprise me
  16. Dear God, please don’t let the Senate fuck this up.
  17. From what I can decode from the clutter. As BBB is written now, suppressors are completely written out of the NFA. No tax or registration and destruction of previous registrations. SBRs will be worked in Senate. The removal is under the Hearing protection act and there is another option in there that only removes the tax as a separate rider.
  18. Dose BBB bump them off the NFA registry or just eliminate the $200 tax?
  19. Hopefully manufacturers are paying attention
  20. Dude if that makes it through the Senate...
  21. The problem isn't the parties, it's the people. We've reached the part of the cycle where everyone expects everything for less than they put in to the system. We'll either go the route of Greece (in progress) or a big, scary, deadly catastrophe will finally jolt people into a new era of "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
  22. Suppressors and SBRs squeaked into the BBB
  23. I'm not a financial expert...not that many of us are (paging @Finance_Guy)...but I've heard that the CBO uses fairly static analysis when scoring bills. So in this case, tax cuts are continued, but so are the spending levels...which leads to the that score. Just like the outyears in the FYDP, the numbers don't and likely won't reflect reality when it gets here. But it will be interesting to see if D's and R's are willing to actually cut discretionary, let alone entitlement spending. My guess is it'll always be the Party in the minority demanding cuts because they realize it'll never happen...and in four years magically the new minority party will wake up and realize they've always been fiscal hawks. Probably time to come up with a new club in on-line political arguments...
  24. not hearing too much about ukraine in the press these days
