  2. Wait till you learn we have Refueling probes, too, and taught the 160th how to HAAR when they gained that capability.
  3. Holding call. Suspect af. Second caught Hail Mary - Unknown. He caught it. Looks like UM pulled it, but they didn’t determine who had possession. Odd that two Hail Mary TDs were overturned.

Is it becoming an annual tradition that Miami gets gifted a win on hailmarys by the ACC? Heck this time they got two in a row in the same game.
  5. @ClearedHot The FSU-Miami rivalry is the best.second overtime.

  7. Bro, its 6D at this point. We are incapable of understanding. Trust the process. 1 day of 5-10 cents off diesel is very much worth it. Will save the midterms.

  11. I hear that next year they are going to a 24 team playoff. I miss the BCS era where the entire season was the playoff. Conference championships were something to be proud of. Now it only matters if you win it all.
  12. Probably the scale of a resurrected ACE program if applied generally across all flying Wings receiving UPT grads in their first flying assignment might be pricey. Organically manning it might be cheaper, might… Wings or aircraft not taking first assignment UPT grads (probably not many but to be accounted for) are not many but to clarify the focus of the program, if those few Wings are suffering the same problems of sorties and flight hours, expand it then. Mover and Gonky discuss the BSTAR program here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fo1xL6ZG6lg&pp=ygUUbW92ZXIgYW5kIGdvbmt5IHNob3c%3D Thought Mover brought up a valid point, is ACE or BSTAR intent on making them better B1 pilots or just better / more experienced pilots in general. He then asked the legitimate question, is this flying really similar enough to develop the pilot skills for this community? What do we want out of a new ACE program? An analogue aircraft or an aircraft to just keep building pilot skills generically?
  13. Couldn't we possibly hire private companies with some 2-seat jets like Draken, ATAC, or even ones with privately owned F-5s? Throw a couple more contracts their way on top of their adversary ones? I'm guessing even just throwing dudes in the trunk of a Mirage F-1 for a 1.2 would be better than nothing.
  14. The Pedro has an RWR?? Thought that was only a 160th thing.

  17. Subjective? So only a Natty is a passing grade? Does that mean we only have one successful military career every four year when we pick a CJCS - everyone else failed? GTFO. Only one team can win each year and IMHO the grading scale should including building a contender. At Ole Miss he took a program that was 4-8 and built into a team that went 55-19 under his leadership. He Guided the Rebels to four 10-win seasons, six consecutive bowl berths and the year he left they went to the semi-finals in the CFP. I truly don't understand your logic. I don't like the dude but will admit he is a good coach and knows how to build a team...his personal proclivity to self-destruct not withstanding.
  18. But are they? If we buy more, I guarantee they won't be less than that. Boeing has never underbid before...allegedly.
  19. Subway? Sandwiches?!
  20. I was about to ask you your two cents as you fly / have flown the L-39 The L-39NG would be my if king for a day choice (or other light jet: IA-63, M-345, etc…) but the cost would make this nigh impossible Gamebird seems to hit the right wickets: affordable, supportable, domestically produced, capable performance (aerobatics, range, speed)… but it’s not IFR certified and while I don’t think doing mind numbing repetitive IAPs is what ACE should do, I could see the naysayers using that as an argument against. I’d still argue for it just trying to bring up what the argument(s) might be against it. ACE as a program of Professional Military Flight Education and Training might have a better chance. Multiple programs, teaching, reinvigorating or reinforcing aviation skills while bringing together the different parts of the Line of the Air Force to fly together. Classes run with heavy, fighter, rotary (if fixed wing qualified also) pilots to fly together for their own personal and professional development. Gamebird based program could be one. Others maybe (STOL flying, powered glider, etc…) There’s a camaraderie built doing a challenge together, incorporating flying into rather than flickerball I think would build not only better individual pilots but a better pilot team.

  27. Wall off the entirety of Manhattan and toss all the criminals in there. Everyone gets cool handles like The Duke, Cabbie, and Snake. Trump can go in there too, you know, for plot.
  28. I've got a fair amount of experience flying the L-39, including in Airshows. Buying used L-39s: they run about $600,000 and up for a nice one. Closer to $1M with the Garrett/Honeywell engine instead of the Ivchenko (which would be a terrible choice). But the USAF isn't going to buy used jets. L-39 NG? Not. A. Chance. At $15-$20M, they are more than the T-7! Go buy the Gamebird.
  29. @Zero you planning to come to the 2027 Air Rescue Symposium? 2-4 Mar in San Antonio. Shark has the deets. Also, consider joining the Air Rescue Association, we need current Sandy folks (so recruit your friends)! We just folded the Sky Raider Association into our group. https://www.usafrescue.org/membership
  30. Yup, the L-39 NG is probably the best solution if this is the answer to crew proficiency and experience building (ACE 2.0). If ACE ever got traction, for each base / wing / mds community it was attached to it would likely need a bit of structure / defined objectives to address observed crew flying issues to get institutional support. Use ACE for experience building in formation, generate high count patterns for SA building, x-country with training objectives (enroute rendezvous, dynamic retaking, training diverts, etc…). The dollars n cents, jet availability plus wear n tear on the heavy iron would be the data driven reason why. Cross currency would be critical to also justifying it. Some percentage would / should be set aside for crew planned good deals but kept to a reasonable amount.
