  3. From the cheap seats, if I ever go down, please come get me ASAFP! I don’t care if you’re AF, Army, Italian, or Bernie Sanders. I’ll be the guy curled up in the fetal position weeping softly.

  8. Article 32 officer hasn't even determined there is probable cause for a trial yet, Colorado Springs PD already determined that there was not, and we're plastering the guy's name all over the place? Not relevant to topic, and prejudicial to someone that is innocent until proven guilty. Delete and move on.

  9. Prior to BLADE 11 there was a circle covering Raqqa too. We see how well the T+180 timeline worked out for them and they were still fighting over BOG numbers in 2017 two years after. When I was in Iraq we actually had people from the CAOC questioning our need to XSAR because of the cost/effort of having us and an HC airborne. Meanwhile a 8+ hour XCAS for a B-1 is approved without second thought. The fact that it took almost five months to get dedicated PR assets based in-country to provide less than a 2+30 response time is laughable. Nobody cares about PR until they need PR.

  13. Video of the ejection. It's amazing how a little CG shift can change the trajectory of the aircraft so much.

  15. Where'd you end up Brabus? Becoming a DSG was one of the best things that ever happened to me and my only regret is I didn't do it sooner. If I had a dime for every time situations like yours happened...I'd have enough for a pour-over from the local hippie joint. We once had a position announced and the only reason the masses found out was because a squadron wife happened upon it while searching USA jobs. The whole technician program is archaic and painful, and is really only a good deal right now because they're handing out GS-13/bonuses like candy. When I was a young FL it was GS-12 Step 1, take it or have fun on the outside...I ended up at a regional (before the pay increases) and couldn't have been happier. The 2 or 3 techs we have left are just young guys waiting for an AGR or enough time to apply to the airlines. Some of them even bailed to the regionals to gain hours and/or because AGRs were all full up/used to entice experience from AD. I'd be surprised if we have any techs 5 years from now. With 72 AFTPs, UTAs, AT, rando TDYs, and some alert days/orders, even in fighter squadrons, you could make a decent living just bumming. If you had no ambition for the airlines, this would an awesome setup for a side gig or lots of free time. Of course, living cheaply or having working spouse would be beneficial.

  17. We had some missions where the plan was if an aircraft went down to spur ride people out of the recognized crash site and stash them somewhere/anywhere because fuel wasn’t available to fly them to a friendly location. This was next door to the big 60G footprint in country because we were basically told if any crap goes down, you are on your own, we have ACC missions to support over on this part of the map. I could get a B-52 to directly support our mission as a dedicated asset, but I couldn’t get PR. Between that kind of crap and seeing what the Italians did during 2 real live PR situations up north, nobody in our task force had any real faith in that side of the mission anymore.

  18. Oh man they actually have guys going through with that? They talked about that here (ANG) a few years back and we all agreed that it's really not enforcable and why would we do that to our own guy's. If seasoning days aren't enough then they should be pushing for more orders...not putting a band-aid on it by giving their bros a paycut.

  19. I copied the allegations directly from the Military.com article in my Google feed. AF Times just posted their story today. The source was the USAFA who put him on blast as pointed out in the original post by "the school said Thursday." Didn't care to post the link yesterday, but since you asked: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/05/19/special-operations-pilot-faces-charges-raping-child-under-12-years-old.html https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2019/05/21/academy-major-accused-of-rape-molestation-faces-article-32-hearing/ AF Times “It must be emphasized that charges are merely accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty,” the release said."

  20. The phrase "accused of said allegations" must have totally escaped your vernacular? You know what accused means and I surely don't have to point out the definition of allegations either right. If you think you are correct, sue the writers of the articles from Military.com and AF Times in court and see how that turns out in front of a real judge. Tell AF Times, Military.com, and the countless other online sites to remove their articles. You're just preaching to the choir on your soapbox of righteousness.
