  1. " We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "f*ck" on their airplanes because it's obscene! "

  2. I am so tired of this PC culture. They literally tweeted about what they get paid for and people freak out. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  3. The snowflakes (and CNN) get triggered by a humorous tweet, so STRATCOM pulls it (STS). Pussies.

  4. It’s not about “defending the assignment.” It’s about not spreading incorrect second hand information on a platform many folks use as a primary tool to gather information. Whether advising is a good deal or bad deal depends on you. Mine is a good deal for me personally, but I’m not a 130 guy. if you have specific questions I’m happy to talk over PM.

  5. LO tanker isn’t really worth the cost, unless it can also drop bombs, in which case it won’t be in AMC. That said, a tanker with defensive system and Link will be a requirement considering that every piece of an IADS is mobile and easy to hide. Since the timeline math really sucks for an OCA or strike guy that has to drive 30m each way to get gas, the tankers will have to be moved well inside their current zone of comfortability. ALR Low won’t be a thing. If we’re talking a no-shitter, losing tankers to enemy action will be disturbingly regular. I’m not sure if current tanker communities are willing or able to plan or execute in that environment. They’re all great Americans and will find a way, but it’ll be painful at the very least. I welcome spears that prove me wrong.

  6. Sadly this is nothing new and hopefully the USSTRATCOM CC doesn't get shit-canned over this. I remember when USAF Chief of Staff General Dugan was fired in 1990 for what I considered an appropriate level of "smack talk". General Dugan got fired for stating the following/excerpt; "He stated that the U.S. military had plans to bomb Baghdad relentlessly and "decapitate" the Iraqi leadership by targeting Hussein personally, along with his family, his senior commanders, his palace guard and even his mistress."

  7. This is the best response. How many people get their info from google and don’t understand the true capes of most our fighter fleet? Edit: I assume you are fighter guy based on the “chaff” comment.

  8. I have one of my squadrons that flies 99.9% of their sorties AFG unilateral and the others are just as capable, we partner as needed but usually for dynamic mission sets not safety related. Green on blue is always a concern but that doesn't mean people are walking around jocked up all the time (mostly). As stated, it's better to have the facts from people in the know instead or running around screaming fire. Cooter P.S. I've got FW/RW positions open if anyone is interested!

  9. Completely depends on the unit and state though. They aren’t applying those things for tech’s universally.

  10. What the hell are you talking about? Not quite to Stockholm Syndrome yet, but your data points are entirely misinformed. After 7 months in the Kabubble, I haven't once had an "Enshallah" moment" from a student I've flown with. There have been a few "Hey, that runway looks a lot like a taxiway, don't you think?" moments, but no one here is holding a gun to anyone's head to prevent any nefarious activity. The ARC dudes coming here are flying and enjoying life. Most volunteer; haven't heard many stories of anyone having to be coerced to do it. Extending an ARC dude takes a Presidential Decree, it seems. When they volunteer to stay longer (and many of them do), they're told "no" by the powers-that-be. Force protection is an important element of what we do, but there is very little concern about 99.9% of the dudes we fly with. These guys are typically targeted more than Americans by extremists and still come to work to fight the good fight. And they're constantly under a microscope. You do have an AD commander, who is on a 365 and allows free reign of expertise across the MDSs. And no one is doing room inspections. So there is that.

  12. Way to go, Ohio! So happy you stuck it to this RINO! http://www.mrpolitic.com/2018/12/27/ohio-legislature-defeats-kasichs-veto-on-gun-owner-rights-bill/ Essentially, the now approved bill makes it the State's burden to prove a self-defense shooting wasn't just that. Previous law, and Kasich's preferred method, is that the individual had to prove innocence. Fcuk him and his horse.

  13. Our current 4th Gen will not be properly SLEPd. Too many issues with age and patchwork fixes. Therefore you will spend way more trying to keep them running than purchasing new 4.5 Gen to do the missions F-35 is not required for. I’m not going to get into a “believe me cause I know stuff” argument since I probably fly the same stuff you do. I know, it’s difficult to understand long term funding in terms of man power and parts allocation or even flying hours. Just ask yourself, what is the cost associated with flying a 15/16 vs 35. If you really want to get into the weeds, go hang out with your maintenance as ask intelligent questions.

  14. FIFY. FWIW, I wouldn't say that Jennifer Smith "caused" any of the shenanigans. She has whatever right to complain about whatever she wants to complain about. It is the spineless senior AF leadership that capitulated to the demands of the PC warriors that caused The Purge. They could have just as easily responded to TSgt Smith's Congressional complaint differently (although it would have required a warrior fortitude to over-ride the political pressures), and it wouldn't have happened at all. That same group fails to understand that they, even today, hold all the power to fix the trajectory of the AF toward the ditch. But, hey, if Mark Welsh says that his dad never sang dirty songs, and that means there's no historical tradition of it, then I guess we can just disregard these 50 years worth of songbooks I have copies of and flush heritage down the toilet at the altar of social justice.

  15. Was it not an enlisted SARM troop that effectively caused the cleansing of every flying squadron several years ago?
