Here are a couple low fly complaint messages that were forwarded to me from the wing PAO. I called the guy back after I finally stopped laughing. He's a good guy that really does have some legit PTSD issues. There's a third one where you can hear the jets flying by while he's on the phone. I'll try to find that one.

FWIW, we actually do try to avoid this guy's house.

This guy is stressed out.

A few years back a retried MSgt took the time to write a nasty note to the local paper telling everyone there was no reason what-so-ever for AFSOC aircraft to be practicing low-level flying. He was extra pissed that they were flying over his NEWLY built house in the middle of the night.

Hey jackass, the range has been there for 60 years, the low-level routes have been there for 30+ years, just because you bought some land an threw up a crackhouse doesn;t mean the world stops spinning.

OMG! That's ****ing hilarious! I'll be over his house on Wednesday. I wish I could drop down that low with a Hawg on each wing. Unfortunately, the humor of the ensuing noise complaint would be far outweighed by the ensuing ass chewing we would get. Besides, I don't think I have seen a TPC or JOG chart since UPT.

Too bad you guys don't fly Thuds or something REALLY loud.

Loony, loony, loony. I used to get calls all the time from a guy named Randy Budell. We almost had to shoot him at the front gate to the base as he was getting so out of control.

I was the first one to answer the phone when this nut job called. I thought it was one of my buddies messing with me so I told him to go Fuk himself and hung up. He called right back and boy was he mad. He told me we were spraying mind control agent and that it was effecting me right then and that's why I wouldn't admit the truth. When he came up to te Guard finally after about a month of phone calls he was screaming and cussing, then in the next breath was talking about being a christian. Our old wing king asked him if he was a christian, why was he swearing? He paused a second and then started slapping himself in the face screaming "The mind control agent is making me crazy". I think the mind control agent was the lead tubing in his still. Loony, loony loony.

Actually, he was leaving these messages for someone else (PA guy) and PA forwards those kinds of messages to me. He did call me sir about 500 times when I called him to sort everything out.

He has called before, he is a disabled veteran and his PTSD is for real and documented. He's a good guy, he just gets a little fired up some times. Most of the time his wife heads him off at the pass before he gets on the horn to us.

You gotta be tough to have an F-4 crash on your head and walk away...

The flight lead for this particular sortie is cleared to 100 feet. This was in the MOA and you notice he said we were flying over his "field" and not his "house".

Rainman, 100 feet? How can ya get cleared that low? Weapons School? Jeez, thats impressive. I start shiftin in the seat a tad at around 500ft in the tweet. But then again, im a newbie.

I understand this is on a different level but this is just like what we are going through at our airport. This airport has a flight training dept. with about 24 aircraft and has for over 40 years. But about 10 years ago developers started putting houses in around the airport property. Now more and more people keep moving in around it and start b*tching about planes flying over their houses all the time. They knew this airport was there when they moved in but for some reason expect us to move. One guy has gone as far as to say that we circle on downwind to watch his wife lay out. . Another guy calls at least four times a week. Good thing I don't take his calls, my PR skills are pretty bad and I tend to say what I feel to people like this .

Actually Rainman if I slip you the coordinates do ya think you could roll in and his house. :D . On with the third message.

Every single ****ing trip around the pattern in a T-37 I would hear, "Don't fly over the rich guy's house!"

And every single ****ing time around the pattern I would say, "Oh yeah, opps...sorry, Sir."

Yep, same here. 1000' AGL is the min for night training.

We are working on dropping it to 500' but the ACC/DO says there is "no requirement to train that low at night." Translation..."We're not crashing a jet ON MY WATCH trying to train under controlled peacetime conditions to prevent our young guys from doing something difficult and dangerous for the first time in their lives at night in sh!tty weather in combat." The Jolly division used to show some of their FLIR film of night daisy chain hot escort by A-10s. My boss got a look at it and pulled me aside to ask me where the paperwork for the weapons school night min altitude waiver was (since we had a waiver for just about everything else). "Uh, yes sir...noted." I asked the Jollys to please keep that film to themselves after that.

Combat night min altitude is A/R.

I'm not sure if this is just in my state, but when you rent or buy a place, you usually have to sign a piece of paper about the possibility of lead-based paint in the hose that essentially says:

"Hey dummy, this place is kind of old, so there's probably lead in the paint. And if you ingest lead, it can really screw you up. So don't chew on the windowsills, and don't let your kids chew on the windowsills."

Wouldn’t it be nice if anyone who bought or rented under a low-level route or pattern was required to sign something like this? Something like:

"Hey, you are going to be living under a low-level route used primarily by F-16's from Bumble AFB. They may fly anytime day or night, and they will be loud. Consider this your warning, and don't complain that you didn't know."

The tree huggers in New Mexico hate our low levels. I remember when I was stationed at Kirtland in the late 90's the wife and I would go on weekend trips to Taos and Santa Fe. A lot of the shops had signs on the doors that read something like "Another business that doesn't support military low altitude flights." Couldn't tell you what was on the inside of the store.

There are a bunch of no-fly areas out at Mother Rucker. Some of the FCIF's from the past couple years include "Avoid overflying x's house at ### coordinate. Resident is a known shooter of aircraft" We actually had some people shoot fireworks at helo's doing night remote ops a few months back.

There is this one area in N Florida that belongs to a retired AF colonel who complains everytime he hears the sound of an engine. You'd think that a retired guy would love hearing the sound of freedom. Some people just don't get it i guess.

The Chena Dog Lady at Eielson is my favorite for noise complaints. Heard a rumor that they even gave her an incentive flight, which she enjoyed, and then went right back to complaining.

EDIT: Also the Ginowan mayor's house under the overhead at Kadena. Word was that he had acoustic sensors built in around his house and if the aircraft noise exceeded a certain dB, he would lodge a complaint.

Some woman up north (North of Fairbanks) who owns a dogsled team and gets pissed when the fighters boom the shit outta her property - its up in the middle of nowhere, not far from Chena Hot Springs, AK in the Yukon MOA. Hence the "Chena Dog Lady"...

"The sonic booms are disturbing my dogs!"
