Drop on request vs. Self Initiated Elim, same right?

Failing/washing out another matter, ref. rated aircrew is voluntary duty going in...presently...until draft

It seems failing/washing out has been pushed to the FTUs

Not at Vance. There have been a steady stream of CRs for months, and not too many have recovered back into the pipeline.

Same at CBM

Hearing around ACC that 19th has decreed that UPT IP's cannot be given alcohol for initial solo, nor can they display their already-received bottles.

Was there a specific offense or event that made this happen?

Or is the sight of bourbon considered pornography?

Haven’t received any alcohol since the red wedding at Laughlin in 2018. In fact all bars in the flight room were taken down and replaced with VR machines. Most recent thing is that students and IPs can’t drink at the same bar during cross country.

Speaking of the 19th AF/CC, he’s been in the seat for 3 years, shouldn’t he be getting a replacement soon?

When I went through (both student and IP) that was a rule and we scoffed it wholesale. Molding young minds on how to act in a bar regardless of being shmammered is a good lesson to be learned before their first CAF TDY. Also, a great way to keep them from killing themselves and find out who the douchebags were. I have some faith our youths will find a way to “anonymously” keep up a proper tradition despite the pussification of the AF.

Too many students sleeping with IPs so the good idea fairy said no more alcohol for dollar rides, etc. Cause that's definitely gonna solve the problem

Can’t we just go back to the days where the former USAFA/CC and his wife openly admit they were sleeping together while in UPT? /s

Yea he’s retiring and this guy is taking command in a month or so.

Had not heard that... thanks!  Weebol was at Beale during my last three years on active duty. Pretty varied background, he should do well.

If you mean better than the last guy, well that's a pretty low bar. I'll withhold judgement until the new edicts start rolling out. I wish him luck, he's inheriting a mess of toxic second-tier effects.

I wonder if there’s any chance he’ll reverse course on the T-1. Being a fighter guy I doubt it, but maybe he’s got more common sense than the outgoing guy.

current 19 AF/CC wants to keep the T-1 this a HAF/A8 level decision

As someone that was informed today they are heading to teach T-6s this winter, what’s the current T-6 IP life like? I’ve heard rumors soul crushing trip turns etc. Also, with the new syllabus, are all IPs still flying/teaching form, or just 11F/T38 trained dudes?

Trying to set my expectations, I’ve made the last rank I will likely see, I could care less about OPR bullets or the rack and stack, hoping to add some more IP time to the resume before I GTFO, maybe even teach a thing or two to the youngins.

If you’re headed to Vance, msg me and I’ll be happy to chat
