I wonder how many times he’s heard “stop shooting yourself in the foot…” type comments and still charges on. Somewhere around 6.9 million is my guess.

Probably the same amount of times someone said something to Joe when he was wandering in the basement looking for his car. 1
ClearedHot Posted May 18 Posted May 18 I hate to dog-pile on Biden on the day they announce he has a very aggressive form of cancer that has spread to his bones, but I challenge anyone to go listen to the newly released tapes of his special counsel interview about the classified information and tell me that dude is not completely fried in the brain. He could not remember when he was the Vice President...after listening I am not sure he knows he was Vice President. 2

The machine did its very best to put us through some alternate reality regarding the whole Biden affair. That level of coordination and manipulation perpetrated on the American people will hopefully never be seen again. I’m glad the truth is coming out so we can all see what is being exposed. I don’t believe the democrat party or legacy media will have significant influence any time soon because of it. Progressives and their politics are just an annoyance for the vast majority of the country. That’s why their favorability numbers are so historically low. Something else will be born out of those ashes for sure and we will see what it becomes. Hopefully, level headed democrats will form something to counter the republicans and we can have a semi functioning government again. I am sure this will come across as insensitive and too early, but I am not excited about watching the machine paint Biden as a saint when he goes, and I’m betting he goes quickly after this diagnosis. 2
Blue Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) Dementia, cancer, and all the other physical and mental ailments of old age are both sad and terrifying. I'm sure many of us have seen it play out in our own families, or others close to us. That said, I'm still anxiously awaiting some kind of explanation as to who exactly was running the country while Biden was tottering around, oblivious to his surroundings. The American people are owed that. Also, while I'm not holding my breath, I'd hope we'd eventually get some understanding of Jill Biden's state-of-mind through her husband's presidency. How she was able to come to terms with the allegiances to her party vs her allegiances to her husband and his health. Edited May 18 by Blue 1 2
TreeA10 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 We know those directly in politics will lie to win and not bat an eye. However, the alleged non-political media has done substantial damage to their reputation and are seeking to massage the narrative claiming "we didn't know Joe was a marginally mobile vegetable" despite having defended his senility for the last 4 years. We shall see how that argument works out.
Clayton Bigsby Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Wasn’t Reagan in the throes of Alzheimer’s during his second term? Nancy allegedly running the show? At least his VP was very capable.
ClearedHot Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Jake Tapper declares Biden White House lied about 'cheap fakes' after CNN peddled narrative in 2024 Wait, the mainstream media was in on it...and now they admit it as if it was nothing! main.mp4
Prosuper Posted May 19 Posted May 19 It's amazing to watch how Democrats who get red pilled are ostracized by the true believers. It's like leaving a cult.

He's spinning his part. As for who was running the nation, imo, it was the primary gatekeepers, Jill and Chief/Dep of Staff and a few read-in die hard staffers.
ClearedHot Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Can you imagine if this bitter old @unt had been elected. Now she thinks only a DNC female can be POTUS. 1 1

He can't control it I think it has a lot to do with his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, she is no nonsense and he seems to listen to her. He was certainly more (relatively), disciplined during this election. Supposedly she has drastically reduced access and the ability of his family and far right influencers to simply walk into the Oval. My wife hates politics and rarely watches any coverage but together we watched part of one of his speeches in the Middle East last week. The minute he went off script and started dropping the "most powerful, rigged election, horrible people" comments she couldn't help herself..."can't he just keep his mouth closed and enact his policies." Tapper used to be a journalist, I used to watch his segments on CNN, sad when he converted to mouthpiece. Joe Scarborough is the worst - “I spent, as I’ve said before, two and a half, three hours with Joe Biden in the White House, all over the White House, talking at length, at length and in depth about foreign policy matters. And he was as sharp as anybody else I’ve spoken to and spoke actually like a man who’s been doing this since he was 29 years old and knew world leaders.” The GOP seems determined to investigate what happened at the end of JB's term, yesterday senior DNC folks suggested any investigation should be stopped now that Joe has been diagnosed with cancer. I hope they continue, not as retribution but I think we as American's deserve to know who was leading the country and how do we stop that from happening again. The mainstream media is finally acknowledging what happened and they are using Tapper's book (Original Sin), a recent summary - "The inescapable conclusion is that party leaders were well aware of Biden's diminished capacity and were more than willing to mislead the voters." 3 1 3

So in this case, tax cuts are continued, but so are the spending levels...which leads to the that score. Just like the outyears in the FYDP, the numbers don't and likely won't reflect reality when it gets here. But it will be interesting to see if D's and R's are willing to actually cut discretionary, let alone entitlement spending. My guess is it'll always be the Party in the minority demanding cuts because they realize it'll never happen...and in four years magically the new minority party will wake up and realize they've always been fiscal hawks. Probably time to come up with a new club in on-line political arguments...

We've reached the part of the cycle where everyone expects everything for less than they put in to the system. We'll either go the route of Greece (in progress) or a big, scary, deadly catastrophe will finally jolt people into a new era of "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." 1
