  1. People’s Liberation Army’s Unit 61398? I didn't think we were that popular.
  2. Trying the same thing and expecting different results?
  3. So you're saying, for once, something F-35 related is operational?
  4. Yadda yadda yadda fighters shouldn't even have a radar Not a very credible critique
  5. Our people wrote the underwhelming requirements. All goes back to the VSTOL.
  6. Or maybe the mws watch design isn't all that great.
  7. I'd venture most of the US Americans don't pay enough attention to know the difference.
  8. URT isn't a great solution in general.
  9. The only real trend is that historical data is not reliable for upt assignments.
  10. Yes, there's a difference even in UAVs, folks; more things on the doc statement than letting it self-wheel itself*. *Pop culture reference for those unfamiliar.
  11. There's the 152 AOG in New York AOC-wise, unsure hiring status. Edit: apparently they support USAFE...didn't realize that. Sounds terrible.
  12. How can you show career progression when you go straight to the MoH so early?
  13. Most of the "CAS" you're talking about in Afghanistan isn't CAS, it's dynamic targeting using CAS procedures. The two should not be confused, but they have been. We have a CAS JP, we have DT MTTPs, and they should be used for their appropriate applications. And satellite time is expensive. Very.
  14. But isn't that the current evolution? Aerodynamics are largely the same, and sure there are advancements to be made, but computational advancements can be much more quickly and cheaply upgraded than physical ones.
  15. If you want the block 60, you have to factor in that they own the rights to that config and we'd probably have to pay a licensing fee to buy it, or develop your own equivalent.
  16. What is a war these days anyway?
  17. I'm pretty sure some of the instructors can't apply the rubric.
  18. Wait, we fly airplanes?
  19. I'm no expert, so I should probably stop now, but it seems in the radar sensor game dish size matters sts, and the bombardier looks to have a smaller canoe. Maybe scientists got clever, and it works just as well so this is a great idea.
  20. Twisted grading rubric combined with instructors that can't apply critical thinking and/or instructors that have shitty writing skills and therefore cannot evaluate writing. Only the best of the best have the option to come back as instructors.
  21. Not functional last 16-19 hours.
  22. Is your argument that Surface to Surface missiles are keeping aircraft from flying into a ring 500nm from China?
  23. Here's an alleged hacker's take on the airplane thing... and he was crazy enough to tweet about. https://money.cnn.com/2015/04/17/technology/security/fbi-plane-hack/index.html Edit:
  24. Adapted Text in WSJ: The Meaning of Their Service A retired four-star Marine Corps general on the clarifying effect of combat experience, the poison of cynicism and how veterans can help revive American optimism.
