  1. What do you think our Air Force does? And who's being honorable? You're just saying random catch phrases.
  2. This is my surprised face.
  3. Holy thread resurrection, Batman. Tangentially related WSJ article: Why Free Speech Matters on Campus by Michael Bloomberg and Charles Koch. (Full text attached) I'll be honest, when I saw the authors I wasn't expecting much, but it's a rather coherent and reasonable way to tell everyone to stop being pansies. Really, though, I just wanted this video floated back to the top: https://www.cc.com/video-clips/9fgyc6/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-marines-in-berkeley Why Free Speech Matters on Campus.pdf
  4. But you have the opportunity, a pivotal moment, to implement actual organizational change and fix the culture that is driving people to leave. No money required, just amending useless/harmful policies and leadership behavior. Or, you can implement stop-gap measures that will perpetuate the problem of discord.
  5. I knew signing up that flying is inherently dangerous and death is possible, but I usually try avoiding it. Also, no shit. Everything is possible, unless it involves AFPC acting smartly.
  6. TLDR: stop highlighting differences, set common standards, and emphasize common goals. The more differences are emphasized by diversity programs, the more people start to react to us/them divisions. Applicable to many qualifiers (race, sex, religion, etc). 7. Fits perfectly with the AF Birthday meal celebration menu J-10. Services!
  8. Frankly, no; I guess my point is money beyond what I'm getting isn't a good incentive, from my POV. It's not millions of extra dollars that sounds cool about airlines, it's not qweeping out when you're off the flying clock. Mission enjoyment outweighs it still for my case. Clearly not for many.
  9. I'd rather have them match the lack of outside-of-flying qweep and get paid the same.
  10. Was it also limited to level turns?
  11. And those people are called communists.
  12. It was a thing in 2008.
  13. The Middle East at an Inflection Point with Gen. Mattis at the Center for Strategic and International Studies https://csis.org/event/middle-east-inflection-point-gen-mattis On Obama's characterization of our allies as freeloaders: On what we can do in a time of fiscal restraint: About an hour of your time. #worthit SPOILER ALERT: knife hands make multiple appearances
  14. Do you want requirements creep? Because that's how you get requirements creep. Seriously, though, to keep costs down they probably shouldn't try adding anything. Ref F-35.
  15. Ditto, on it not really helping the RPA manning situation and I just don't see it working very well, just my opinion but for these missions a multi-crew aircraft works best. Can't speak to the talent level as I have never been in a MQ-9 squadron but that is UFB on the level of training 18X'ers, you said dudes were getting 10 hours in MQT then on their own, has that improved? Yikes, 70 CAPs coinciding with the first group's ADSC expiring? Fire meet gasoline... No, that's the MQT syllabus for you. Because of the manning problems and lack of training capacity, training is cut short at every corner. Undergraduate, FTU, MQT, and CT. Some of the guys that get to the squadron have the smarts, just no experience with aviation so they take time to develop. You know the theory that some people might develop into good pilots if they had 60 weeks of UPT instead of 53, but we only have training resources for 53 weeks so tough luck? It's like that, but with 20 weeks of training and we're graduating you anyway so good luck CAF.
  16. We have an excess of GOs.
