  1. I imagine there’s a frazzled A4 and A5 in certain theaters trying to figure that out.
  2. No major airline management wants to incur additional labor costs. Better vote in those strike authorizations to drive the point.
  3. https://defenseopinion.com/in-a-dangerous-world-new-pentagon-mitigation-plan-would-hobble-u-s-forces/183/ One excerpt. Interesting from the perspective that major combat would probably be hampered if you apply the same expectations as HVI hunts with Hellfires, which he argues we are doing.
  4. Petition to rename thread “Tacti-cool Tanker”
  5. Gotta get that hate out now while it’s still flying.
  6. When you look at the problem as a lack of number of booms overall, it does make some sense. Minus the ever making it to the fight because of threats part.
  7. Could also be the new CEO was looking for an excuse to cut those areas of business he just axed.
  8. Honestly? Probably not until they have hiring shortfalls. I mean AAL has been cutting its schedule by thousands of flights every month because they lack the pilots to fly it and apparently this doesn’t phase the corner offices one bit since they fly what they can at lower cost than getting a new contract done.
  9. FSDOs, like many bureaucracy minders, seem to enjoy their unquestioned fiefdom.
  10. Sure, I show up documents in hand…but only a few people take more than a cursory glance. One was an old DAL 75 CA, and the other couple have been regional jet CAs. Like yes, I’m trying to sit in this tiny CRJ jump seat just for fun.
  11. Six months, last I read.
  12. Cars already have an alternator that uses some engine power to create electricity. Putting more drag on a car with a RAT, or causing more friction (i.e. increased energy expenditure to move the car) by putting an alternator on the axle does not provide a benefit…unless the device only works when you want to slow down in which case you’re describing the hybrid design manufacturers have been using for 20 years.
  13. The cable for said system had the failure from what it looks like.
  14. UPS is, however, still stuck in the sand with their 1st year pay rate. Financial hazing in full effect.
  15. Definitely see that and the difficulty there, just summarizing in one sentence the new white paper. They also essentially said they would use force if they felt like it despite 16-19 pages of saying how peaceful the CPC is.
  16. In China’s new paper, they want to have the same conciliatory environment in Taiwan that allowed them to fold Hong Kong so quickly.
  17. They’re definitely on the verge of some economic problems and unrest…they have some heavy handed crackdowns going on, and I’m sure they welcomed the Taiwan visit as a distraction to help solidify some of their home support.
  18. That’s assuming one can actually get into a Centurion Lounge. Their membership has far outpaced their capacity.
  19. We can’t quote that one again…
  20. On a fixed gear airplane, though, right?
  21. Nothing exciting really that I’ve seen: one just extremely unpleasant guy who called every female on the radio a dumb bitch or whiny bitch in cockpit conversation (plus didn’t understand LNAV/VNAV system which got us questionable at one point when he changed modes on me while I was PF), and another guy that again didn’t understand LNAV/VNAV and continually reached across the cockpit to with my automation modes while I was PF and put us in a precarious clearance compliance position by doing so. Neither were instructional situations nor were they check airmen, nor did they properly take the airplane. Did the pro standards dance, but not people I care to deal with again at this pay rate.
  22. https://roy.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/roy.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/Roy_Let%20Experienced%20Pilots%20Fly%20Act_FINAL.pdf What a turd piece of legislation Graham and Roy cooked up. You’d think that congress that has an average age of 96 would be acutely aware of the insidious mental decline at advanced ages that the FAA Class 1 can’t account for.
