  1. Hang some Sargent Fletcher pods off of it, throw a few SATCOM antennas on top and now it could become a legit SOCOM asset... just sayin!
  2. Sounds like a standard local training line in the Duke City! Who’s up for some threat-pen over Meadow Lake and its population of pharmaceutical enthusiasts?!
  3. Peoria had been pushing hard a few years ago for the J conversion. Who knows though.
  4. Correct Huggy, steel toes are not approved for flight in the AF, and I think Navy required it only if you had ops on carrier flight decks. (It’s been a long long time since NAS Corpus Christi though!)
  5. I could eat... 50 eggs.
  6. Schools here in the “Land of Entrapment” are closed for the rest of the school year. Announcement
  7. Maybe we can come up with some ideas on here then? Spacers? I’ve seen it used in some sci-fi books. Sounded ok in that context. Is there anything that folks in AF Space Command referred to themselves as already?
  8. Welp... shit. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1054561 This is kinda how Red Storm Rising kicked off. Maybe we’ll get that movie after all!
  9. The Rescue of Streetcar 304 is a good one for Vietnam era CSAR.
  10. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/iranian-commander-kept-secret-israeli-f-35-stealth-fighters-had-violated-iran-airspace Well, that’s interesting. Who knew all we needed was Russian radar codes?
  11. I haven’t heard anything, but I was able to access the AWC distance learning website. **shrug** Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn’t, who knows.
  12. Good to see the #FloridaMan search will continue to have strong input!
  13. Please let the ones headed to Kirtland know that they’ll be MC-J and not on the Chariot of Armageddon. They get trained exclusively at HRT if they’re headed that direction.
  14. I’d say your odds are pretty decent for 1 below. Ours went up blank with a “P” if leadership didn’t feel we had a chance, so if yours went up filled out and with a “DP” you’re not wrong in being “cautiously optimistic”. Plus, unless there’s a big shake-up (regime change, UIF, etc) before your IPZ package is submitted, you should still get a solid push in the zone as well.
  15. Blue thread? Sure, that sounds good! Green nametapes like some flavors of DCU had? Nahh...
  16. Sounds like cooler heads prevailed in what could’ve gotten ugly.
  17. “III MEF Marines”released on FB that the second Marine found had passed. Still no other news, but it sounds like everyone who can get there is out looking. Here’s hoping for a Christmas miracle.
  18. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/09/05/the-army-is-making-progress-on-fixing-its-pilot-shortage-so-its-turning-the-focus-on-maintainers/ Interesting “atmospherics” from our Army aviation counterparts. “So, we are short pilots, just candidly speaking,” he said. “I mean, we are under our authorization for aviators, most predominantly seen in the AH-64community.” For the past year and a half, flight school has upped the number of training spots to meet the shortfall, he said But, he added, “you can’t fill the void with just accessions because then six, eight years later you would have a relatively inexperienced force.” So the Army can see the problem with producing away the shortfall... huh.
  19. I applaud your nerd-ness good sir. Dilly dilly!
  20. For their reading/educational pleasure. https://www.aircommando.org/sites/journal/ACJ Vol 6 Issue 2 Allied Force Sep 2017.pdf
  21. Wow... low opinion of AFSOC huh?
  22. Nope... the rumors have once again died. They should start again in around 36 months or so though based on past trends.
  23. Beginning all the way back in T-44’s, “working engine, working foot” and “raise the dead”. Standard Herk stuff, the read was very depressing.
