    08Dawg, fair point. He’s changed his tune many times and early on I’ll give him the benefit. however this is from sep 20. He is the boy who cried wolf, and he never comes on the news to update his predictions. Just continues to preach his doom and gloom when the facts clearly show otherwise.

    !RemindMe in four years...we will look back on 2020 corona virus as the most disastrous government intervention in the history of American public health. total disaster and fear based response amazed how easily americans can be lied to, deceived, freedoms taken away, businesses shut, schools closed, travel stopped...all in the name of "keeping them safe"...and most americans WILLINGLY are giving up their freedoms in the name of "safety" really is incredible. fear is a hell of a weapon.

    no it's not like anything else in life. the government has told small businesses they WILL die. they are not essential and they WILL close. on top of that if they do not comply they will be fined and even jailed. that's 100% un-American and i don't give a shit what kind of "crisis" is going on. especially when there are examples of states who are not killing small businesses. truly shocking

    those "educated guesses" and "assumptions" have quite literally killed hundreds of THOUSANDS of small businesses, lives, fortunes, and futures. for what purpose? to save lives? sure. hope it was all worth it..."time will tell, sooner or later...time will tell" (bonus points if you can name where that quote comes from...hint its a computer game)

    got it covid sucks. i really do get it guys. i'm not wanting to get it. but risk reward here come on...if i were a small business owner i would be PISSED that i'm going BANKRUPT and losing EVERYTHING to this. beyond pissed. everyone of you who advocate for keeping things locked down is living off a government paycheck every two weeks...easy for you to say.

"deadly"? not for my age bracket and health brother. that's the problem with how we've handled this "crisis"...very broad, dangerous sounding strokes. we need nuance and perspective instead of the media rolling literal death counts across the screen 24/7 i'll take my 99.99% chance to win your "darwin award" any day (notice how i'm not saying the virus isn't real...it certainly is...for CERTAIN demographics/age range/health status people)

    i think some good risk management/decision making is lacking from folks who shrill that viewpoint you just typed out. got it COVID is real. check. under 55 and healthy? it's a nothing burger. time to live life. older and/or unhealthy? take precautions/stay safe/flatten the curve/build back better/its only two weeks. amazing how some military members who are paid to make risk/reward decisions can't figure this out (not a spear at you slack but at my most recent experience with senior base leadership in my CoC)
