  1. Doesn't really matter. Fly a great jet and don't pass up an opportunity to shut up. Encourage your classmates to do the same.

One tweet says an engine a mile away. WTF. Do we know H or J?
  3. Ah, I see now JBLM was code for McChord.
  4. Bradley Manning in a dirndl? Pass.

Or the uniform AFI. Haven't read it myself, but I heard it's wordy.
  6. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/walgreens-scraps-rite-aid-bid-but-will-still-buy-some-stores/ar-BBDrjrX?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=iehp "Walgreens Boots Alliance abandoned its deal to acquire rival drugstore chain Rite Aid and will instead buy nearly half of its target's stores after U.S. regulators raised anti-trust concerns about the original plan." As of 1019E, RAD is down 23.28% since yesterday's close.
  7. I see you've found the secret to long term wealth.

Should I just text your girlfriend when I need something after hours?

Chang just created a new persona.
  11. I'm well aware of the benefits available to active duty members and their spouses. Spent the better part of two decades enjoying those benefits. Did you know spouses were only recently afforded those protections? And yep, you get the same benefits for a couple years while you're on active orders. But once you leave the AD blanket, choose your hometown wisely. You're just another civilian employee as a DSG or Technician.
  12. Generally once you move, register your cars, and register to vote, you're considered a resident of your new state. If you commute back and forth, you can keep your tax free. If you move your life to your new Guard unit, you're on the hook for their taxes. Sorry, life's a cruel bitch sometimes and taxes are one of her favorite pastimes.
  13. I don't think your logic would survive an audit. The IRS has made examples of airline guys playing loose with residency rules. Be careful.
  14. C for effort. I'm just not convinced 0.8 bodies per squadron will do much.

Too bad they couldn't get a better announcer, though. They got some no name local.
  16. There are IMA jobs (namely, Cat E) that you can do as an additional duty. But why would you do that?
  17. I think we're at 2 now?
  18. Sounds like you bought a helicopter U174 cord. So yes, it's an impedance issue. Yours is high impedance (150 ohm); mine - and most military spec - is low impedance (5 ohm). I'll sell you just the cord (which includes the boom and mic) if you like. It's just 2 bolts to change it out. Or you can call Bose and order it.
  19. Especially in CBM.
  20. No bankruptcy? Just a less than ideal debt:income? You're fine. They're not mortgage lenders; they just want to make sure you're not blatantly irresponsible or an easy target for a bribe.
  21. I don't really have a clue what Cyber does, so much less can I judge your civilian employment prospects. But I think I'm safe in saying there's no way in hell 90% of your dudes hang around when they can (again, I'm guessing) go live in NorCal or Austin or Seattle or wherever and make the same or (way) more dough.
  22. Who the fuck would volunteer for that?
  23. Obviously my post was somewhat tongue in cheek, but I didn't say you'll quit the ARC. I said you'll quit flying for the ARC. Lots of ways to get to 20 once the AF/ARC flying requirements wear you down.
  24. Those that want to inch closer to an active duty retirement are already doing it. There are a thousand ways to get active points towards retirement. Orders are pretty common to Tyndall, Scott, NGB, etc. My old unit - and I'm sure it's true elsewhere, too - has fewer and fewer bums, which means more days/orders for those that are still hanging around. Those that don't take HQ-type or local orders have lots of valid reasons; those same reasons will keep them from voluntarily going back on AD.
