    Trucks

Tundras are built in San Antonio, IIRC. Part of the plant is built on a ranch dating back to 1794. Hence, the 1794 Tundra version. Expensive, but nice. Got a 2002 Tundra which is smaller than the current version. Standard maintenance done by me. Only problem has been an O2 sensor which I replaced.
  2. Years ago as a UPT Class Commander, I had some Middle Eastern students. At the graduation ceremony, the WG/CC got up to present some type of gift to the 3 guys, thanks them for their efforts, and concludes with "Remember to always break right."
  3. They'll want to spend another $725 million on a new tracking system to track money.
  4. I'm sure these guys are lying since the word "conservative" is listed in the description. In 2013, the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation released a study concluding that at the current time (before amnesty), the average unlawful immigrant household has a net deficit (benefits received minus taxes paid) of $14,387 per household. During the interim phase immediately after amnesty, tax payments would increase more than government benefits, and the average fiscal deficit for former unlawful immigrant households would fall to $11,455. At the end of the interim period, unlawful immigrants would become eligible for means-tested welfare and medical subsidies under Obamacare. Average benefits would rise to $43,900 per household; tax payments would remain around $16,000; the average fiscal deficit (benefits minus taxes) would be about $28,000 per household. Amnesty would also raise retirement costs by making unlawful immigrants eligible for Social Security and Medicare, resulting in a net fiscal deficit of around $22,700 per retired amnesty recipient per year.
  5. Just a quick Google and I get a cost for illegal immigration was $113 Billion in 2010. How much was that fence going to cost? $4 Billion? Hell, let's get a fence with all the bells and whistles and pay $10 Billion. I think we still come out ahead. Total that year to year and I think it is one hell of a return on investment. You honestly think that low skilled illegals coming across the border will pay anywhere near the taxes to offset the benefits they receive?
  6. So, you are saying if they legally crossed the border that their children should be able to speak English and meet grade level education requirements? I thought you didn't want any limits? Hey, I'm on board with your desired English speaking and educational minimums requirement. And I thought we would never agree on anything.
  7. Here's a national estimate. $761 million dollars just for educating the new illegal immigrant children. And this does not include housing, medical, nutrition, and who knows what else benefits they will be entitled to. I would like those who welcome all across our borders to show us how much they really care and voluntarily pony up cash until it hurts to help pay for the wave of humanity coming into our country. http://washingtonexaminer.com/immigration-group-surge-will-cost-schools-761-million/article/2552749
  8. I should have expanded my definition of faux bankruptcy. Sorry I didn't spell it out for you.
  9. My .02 cents: The next 10 years will not be like the last 10 years...hopefully. I was hired in early 99 and sat reserve for 12 years. Could have held a line earlier but did want to commute. Quality of life vs quantity of money. I had plans to pull the handles at 20 but then 9/11 happened. Then the American Airlines near bankruptcy happened in 2003. Then the age 65 for retirement happened. Then the faux bankruptcy, via financial slight of hand, happened. I stayed in the Reserves as long as possible and left when they said I had to go. I've flown with a lot of former military guys that wish they had done something to qualify for retirement. That being said, I'll also say that life in the airlines is dealing with a devil you know whose actions are only guaranteed through contract negotiations. Dealing with the AF was dealing with a devil hidden by smoke, mirrors, propaganda, a nebulous moving target regarding performance with vague promises and no guarantees...at all.
  10. Estimates here in Texas are that the children of the most recent wave of illegal immigrant is going to cost $45 million for education. Mark1, in addition to your normal tax burden, how much more can I put you down for to help pay for this?
  11. "While Europe Slept" is another good read about the influence of Muslims moving into Europe. I'm sure honor killings will become much more popular if we just try to understand the culture that commits them.
  12. Here's an interesting read, "What went Wrong?" It tracks the societal evolution in the Middle East vs Europe. The Middle East was leading in art, science, engineering, and mathematics until around 750AD and the rise of Islam. Any technological advances in their society since then has been due to the influence of the west. So, if you want to time travel back to the 12th Century, I'd say ISIS is your passport. Nothing says going forward than the slaughtering of those that do not believe in Allah.
  13. Looks like she won her primary. Anybody here know Morse that might be able to translate any message she might be blinking?
  14. Sounds like you dropped the wrong item out of your jet.
  15. Somebody has been hitting the crack pipe.
  16. Multiple fences, barricades, minefield, and a moat with alligators with frickin' lasers on their heads.
  17. New reports say a Buk launcher which I had to look up. SA-11 to the rest of us.
  18. What Mexico and Guatemala Just Did Could Make Our Border Crisis 10 Times Worse by Brian Hayes | Top Right News If good fences make good neighbors, it is most certainly true that NO fences can make very bad neighbors, as this week’s treacherous agreement by two of America’s neighbors has proven. A joint press conference was held yesterday by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina to announce their agreement to jointly cooperate in and facilitate the invasion of their northern neighbor, the United States. Labeled “The Southern Border Program to Improve Passage,” it is an official effort on the part of Mexico and the nations of Central America to invade the United States. You read that right. Check the masthead…this is NOT The Onion. The agreement provides a network of border checkpoints through which an internal Mexican travel document will be issued, which is valid for a period of 72 hours. That document, known as a Regional Visitor’s Card, will provide temporary legal status to those in Mexico illegally for the sole purpose of invading the United States – completely bypassing Mexico’s immigration laws, which as Michelle Malkin has detailed, are among the toughest in the world. The announcement, officially granting the “privileges” to illegals from Guatemala and Belize, applies to anyone who reaches the southern Mexican border with the intention of invading America. Almost unbelievably, the joint policy will also provide financial assistance to unaccompanied minors — in effect paying them to invade the United States. 50,000 illegal alien children have already crossed the border in just the past few month –being delivered to their destinations of choice by Obama. Mexico’s treachery will surely only provide further incentive for the illegal invasion, as Central Americans can rest assured their passage through Mexico will be an easy one — and in some cases a profitable one. How is this anything but a Mexican-sponsored hostile act of aggression upon the sovereignty of the United States? It is a planned invasion across our border — a virtual act of war by Mexico. And what responsibility does Barack Obama have to stop it? The U.S. Constitution’s Article IV Section 4 is clear and unambiguous: The United States shall protect each of them [the States] against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. Yet Obama is refusing to do any such thing, by design. Far from repelling this invasion, he encouraged and is accelerating it. Does the “I-word” come to mind? Forget it. Speaker John Boehner has already said impeachment is off the table. So what can be done? It is up to the States, specifically Arizona and Texas, to sue Obama for violation of Article IV, Section 4, deploy their own forces to the border to halt and return all illegal alien invaders, and refuse to abide by any DOJ or Federal court commands to release illegal aliens until their Article IV lawsuits have been resolved. Will they do it? Rick Perry and Jan Brewer’s timid responses thus far doesn’t give on much hope. I will agree prior administrations were also guilty of failing to stop the flood of illegals. Both sides are guilty.
  19. I agree we need more on the border in the form on barriers and people. The situation was magnified, however, when our Organizer in Chief decided to not enforce deportations and give young illegals amnesty and an education under the DREAM act. A more forceful message of "You get nothing and we will send you home" might have a measurable effect, as well.
  20. Vertigo envisions every person wanting to come to this country as having higher ideals of personal responsibility and jobs skills. I like those people. My neighbor is a OB/GYN from Mexico, my sister in law is from Ukraine working on her PhD, and I've met met many other LEGAL immigrants along the way. Great people with a dream. Got no problem with that. I'm not sure what or how the current torrent of children are going to add to our tax base in contributions. Maybe we should bring back child labor. Little fingers do so much better at detail work, I guess.
  21. I'm not the one wanting to volunteer the full faith and credit of the US Treasury, i.e. We the People, to take care of millions of people who want to come here illegally. That would be you. I just thought that you felt so strongly about it that you could not in good conscious fail to contribute more of your income to help those in need. I think we can come up with a couple churches that will gladly take your money. The church will be happy, you'll be happy, and the illegal immigrants will be happy. Win, win, win. (This could be mixing Government and religion and the whole thing might go critical mass.)
  22. For such an enthusiastic cheerleader for the cause you don't want to make their lives better by letting them stay at your place. Don't you realize that these people are sleeping on concrete floors, eating cold food, aren't being educated and have a whole host of disease issues! Okay, just send me a third to a half of your paycheck and I will see that it gets to the appropriate agency so you can be a beacon of social justice. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
