Russian Ukraine shenanigans
And on a side note, a couple of the smartest guys in my UPT class washed out. Intellectually they made the rest of us (including the IPs) seem like special ed students. So even if he had washed out, it doesn't mean he doesn't have the smarts to logically crush anybody else's arguments/thoughts.

The Next President is...
I'm wondering what rational person listened to that feces and thought "yeah, he seems to have it all under control". I get that his supporters know what he is and accept it, but how did that dumpster fire of a speech positively sway anybody's opinion??

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
You're shitting us right? Our energy policy is totally about politics. it shouldn't be but, in the US everything is politics now. We still have decades and decades of energy in the ground under the US. The newest Nuclear technology is the cleanest and most green energy source we have available right now, but sadly it's out of fashion.

no doubt Putin got a hold of one of Hunter's crack pipes, but there is still no fargin way he goes nuclear!

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
There is no way Putin drops nukes (tactical or otherwise) in Ukraine! So far the Russian troops seem to be diligently trying to minimize deaths. Putin is in the wrong to invade, but he fully outlined his reasoning and intent. goingkinetic is dropping some strong acid with the "war crimes" talk.

China & Chinese Shenanigans
A couple of years ago I did an intentional search for nails made in the USA. At the time there was one remaining manufacturer that supposedly made nails in the US. I can't say my search was 100% exhaustive, but it made me do a similar search on other manufactured products and it confirmed how little we produce here at home. For many items we source the raw material and send it to China (or elsewhere) to have it fabricated and sent back. Pretty shocking how little we actually make and that it's cheaper to send product to China and back rather than make it here. I know I'm unique here in the US, but having grown up in Taiwan it worries me how serious the threat really is to one of the few young democracies in the world. Taiwanese have grown from an autocratic more or less dictatorship (KMT run and controlled) while I was there (1970-1980) into a fully functioning democracy fighting for it's very existence in a world that fails to recognize them as an independent state. General CKS basically doomed Taiwan to the current situation by being so dogmatic that he was the ruler of all of China when the UN in the early 1970s chose the CCP as the official Chinese government.

China & Chinese Shenanigans
We buy and source everything consumer based from CCP controlled outlets in China. We (the USA and most of the West) don't have the resolve anymore to sacrifice personal comfort for a cause, even a major cause like basic human rights. I forecast (if CCP invades Taiwan) we pontificate a lot (and I mean a lot), we drum up a few superficial sanctions, and we lobby the UN to make a statement that China was bad in this action but.....

That makes sense Dirk. It just hit me wrong when I saw it and flashed back to 1990/91 with desert shield and storm.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
This seems as bad as the frogs during/after Desert Storm, making us fly around their airspace going to and from the UK. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftrib.al%2Fy0m6ImN%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR0gzNjC0gURtyACR-hPUX6iYgRFXMrosbs3jZnLnksrcYVuCpsSXRWsUvk&h=AT2Qhqo47o35CuUABo1KsNd78N2q5TEB5sMKcCUSRFlh8ocau2apWj-yVGnH9F-YgLmDxumLVqk4NJ5Y1-Vh-WRF3Y83wHvbgywHX_k3nBiQO1zoEzvaWOSkko_KjtAcWai3nPI&__tn__=H-R&c[0]=AT0ZMkh8bE9MUfTFbZiEzmYyuJPja-UhnxkV0Zw3J5GJ2bgyIRiecv9boQpdxubc-EkJ0nxULP_wO-KG_xMmN9m99bzaclAjVqlKltWw6Rch4uyUYnG-k03TrNPruVSs3NhxwcpNeFu4tVZ6SxVpNIgnhjV1bQQUPYyz4CuC8-kDh13UlER_wDxRb-04mCk6ZXWJl2cMwiV1NQ

There are all kinds of idiots who claim to believe in macroevolution despite no scientific evidence to support that "theory". So I agree Prozac, just because someone has an MD or PhD label behind their name doesn't mean they critically think.- Covid Injection Tyranny - Share and Discuss

- Things you should listen to drunk while on BO
Probably not for when drunk, but this dude's voice has always impressed me. His speaking voice is just as commanding.- Commanders are dropping like flies this year
5th commander in 2.5 years. - PhD seeking spouse
PhDs take at least 4 years counting coursework and dissertation writing time at reputable schools. Typically the first two years are coursework (subject area as well as research methods, statistics, data analysis, etc.) and of course teaching a class or two for the department/school. The last two years are teaching classes in your subject area/department while also researching and writing your dissertation. So any advice we could offer would be dependent upon your spouse's goals, subject area, and geographic location. Are they going to relocate to do this? Are they going to try a distanced based program? The 4 year commitment helps the school gain some value from you for paying a stipend for the degree earned. When I was at Pitt, the PhD stipend was about $18,000 a year and tuition was waived for all classes (I'd hope the stipend has gone up since I was there). I got a notice last month that Carnegie Mellon's Business Technology (BIT) PhD program is offering about $32,000 a year stipend for new students. If your spouse chooses a distance based program, make sure it is accredited and realize in academia there is a stigma to view distance based PhDs as second tier even from decent schools. At my University, in the College of Business, we don't hire tenure track faculty who don't have their PhD from an accredited in-residence university. We hire adjunct and short time faculty lecturers from other programs, but not tenure track faculty. I'm not sure about the humanities and other disciplines as far as hiring decisions, but have your spouse do some research before they spend money and time on a degree that might not pay for itself. If you want to earn a decent wage as a faculty, get a degree in business, engineering, or computer science. The other disciplines (English, Art, History, Science, etc) pay far less. And in the business school, accounting and finance generally pay the most followed by Computer Tech/Management Info Systems.- WTF? (**NSFW**)

- What's wrong with the Air Force?
So now we're mad that senior leaders went through a process to determine cause or not? I'm happy to hear that it sounds like he got a fair hearing/process. Yeah I know he appeared to blame crews for inappropriate scheduling, but I'd rather see a slight delay than a knee jerk immediate firing without seeing the whole picture. And before anyone gives me grief, know that usually a quick no-thought reaction produces the best long term results.💩- WTF? (**NSFW**)
