  1. The worlds first YouTube SII. That was awesome! Now where do I sign to get credit for this training.
  2. I call bullshit on the whole article. Are you sure this didn't come from the Onion? Oh wait, it is from a news site. Sure hope Tiny wasn't a junior.
  3. Maybe landing in Iran happens when you lack flight discipline.
  4. Don't know, but I bet it involves reflective belts.
  5. For starters, you should change the topic since that is definitely NOT the Boneyard when you zoom out. Its laid out to look like a target, like any other bombing range. Why do you ask?
  6. Quick solution. "Hey India, Pakistan just called you fat. I think the said your mom was a slut too. Are you going to put up with that? They've been giving Kashmir the eye all night." After they get done, Afghanistan won't need electricity, they will be able to read at night using the glow from the east. Shovel the big pieces back into the crater and go back to worrying about Iran.
  7. Normally, you pay for anything further than your home of record, but I believe that involuntary separation entitles you to a move to your home of choice. The move is good for up to a year after your separation is complete. As Matmac stated, it all depends on the code on your orders.
  8. I will caveat that I do not have any insider info on the F-35, BUT you say they can't integrate rockets? The Libyan rebels integrated rockets with a toyota hi-lux. My dad was shooting rockets from an O-1 Bird dog in Vietnam. If you can hang a pod on the pylon and get an electrical connection to the pod, I think integration is complete. Cosmic super weapons may need more effort, but if it is just getting seek eagle certification that the weapon won't come back around and shoot the launch platform, that is another issue.
  9. When you have that much testosterone, he probably shaved at breakfast.
  10. Quibbling. The question was when has an AV-8 ever been used in a combat role that required STOVL. I provided a historical example. I'm not sure what makes it a "bad" example. Then you go on to wish that the British had retained a carrier that was more capable. I'll be sure to check with you when the USAF is wishing they had a tanker sooner/ bomber earlier / more F-22s. The British (govt, not military) failed to learn that you can't always predict when you will need that little used capability like a carrier, and its a path the US military is being led down now. My two cents.
  11. Read up on the UK Falklands campaign. AV-8s flew off of container ships. STOVL allows the Marines to fly out of much smaller airstrips than a conventional fighter can use. In the last several wars the US has fought, we have had access to significant stretches of concrete in countries that were willing to host us. That might not always be the case. F-22 can carry AIM-9X. Let me distill your argument - we should continue to add capabilities to existing systems because it is impossible to add capabilities to systems that are still in design/production. YGBSM? People continue to say that drones should be the only thing we buy/build. Drones will either rely on a link back to friendly territory that can be jammed, or preprogrammed with a set target list. How many years has it been since USAF assets have taken off with a "planned" target? I can't see the X-45 doing CAS any time in the next 20 years.
  12. You realize that you are setting Steve up for the Monty Python line that American beer is a lot like making love in a canoe. Masshole, Are you old enough to know about Monty Python?
  13. That is a first. I don't think I've ever heard an AF dude use the words Army and all the good deals in the same sentence. a 365 is about 3 months short of their usual trip (until recently).
  14. Pictures required. Tell them you are conducting research into customers service across the AF.
  15. Could we have Dos Gringos do a revised version of the creed and put it to music? How many guys know all the words to "Two's Blind"? Probably more than know the Airmans Creed.
  16. WOW, there is some outstanding reading to do there. Can someone capture that and turn it into PME? My favorite is having someone blink "douchery" in morse code while singing/reciting.
  17. Three thoughts on this. 1) Chaplains aren't frequently discussed on this forum, but hats off to the Chaplain for providing feedback to the Chief -> 2) Someone needs to discuss what a "Bottom Line" is. This guy has three of them. 3) Question for the Weapons Officers - when you cast dispersions, what is the anticipated CEP? I've heard of casting aspersions, but maybe he was going for something different.
  18. Makin, thanks for saving me the price of the magazine. I highlighted a slightly different part. I love how he claims he "communicated" this possibility last year. When asked point blank if it is going to happen again, he doesn't answer. THAT is why people feel they were blind sided - chicken shit leadership who can't answer a yes/no question without presenting a math problem. Unless 1300+ officers separate voluntarily (and the AF has to allow them once they request to separate, unlike the last VSP) they will do it again. He just won't say it.
  19. I know there has been some discussion on the waiver process for going to the Guard and Reserves. I got an email today with the "New for 2011" waiver process for the Air National Guard. It looks a little different from what I saw for the Reserves. PM me if you want any contact info for the office that sent the message. ----- Subject: Accessing Twice Deferred AD AF Officers into the ANG Good Morning, The Air National Guard is currently below officer end strength and has the opportunity to increase it significantly. The Air Force is separating officers who have been twice deferred for promotion (passed over for promotion). The ANG accepts accession waivers for twice deferred Active Duty Air Force officers, IAW AFI 36-2005, Table 2.2., Item 25 and ANGI 36-2005, Chapter 11 and Attachment 9. Following is information on the authority to approve these waivers, the processing documents required, and other information: NGB/A1PO is the approval authority. The criteria for approval of these waivers is based on the officer's performance over the last 5 years. As long as the officer's performance is good (as documented in the OPRs), and the officer meets all other requirements for accession in the ANG, then the waiver will be approved to allow the officer's appointment in the ANG. The documentation needed for the waiver is: 1. Commander's memorandum requesting waiver 2. Copies of the officer's last five (5) OPRs 3. State headquarters endorsement The waiver can be submitted as part of the officer's appointment application; there is no need to do a separate waiver. If there is concern that the waiver will not be approved, the unit may submit the waiver request first. Once appointed into the ANG, these officers are eligible for position vacancy promotion, IAW ANGI 36-2504, paragraph 3.3.14. The same documents that were required for the accession waiver are required for a promotion waiver. If the officer is eligible for Interim Appointment IAW ANGI 36-2005, Paragraph 5.5.1, the MPMO may approve the interim appointment and the Oath of Office executed IAW ANGI 36-2005, Paragraph 5.2. Following execution of the Oath of Office, all documents required for appointment IAW ANGI 36-2005, Chapter 5, the NGB Form 337 and AF IMT 133 must be sent to NGB/A1POP as soon as possible for Federal recognition to be extended. Please pass this information to your commanders, unit members, and others who may speak with officers about the Air National Guard. Thank you. XXXXXX, MSgt, USAF Officer Recruiting NCO, NGB/RS
  20. Could this be a devious plan to get people to volunteer for 365s? After a month in blues, I might consider it.
  21. If you like what you do, but you are tired of the qweep, check out the ANG/AFR. You may not have the exact same job/airframe available there, but ask about options for retraining.
  22. Hey Butters, just to provide a data point, I signed up for ACSC the same week the promotion list came out. I had it done before I pinned on Major. I really don't think timing on ACSC in correspondence matters unless they are looking at you to go in residence. Catbox - do you have any EWO background? I've found that can be a marketable skill on the outside.
  23. I was joking - It doesn't sound like you are. How F'd up can this possibly get when I can't make up stupid shit that the AF hasn't already done.
  24. HOLY SHIT! How does that airman in line for the porta potties make weight standards. And he is so shiny. (before you reply, yes its a dude in an inflatable suit.) I'd still like to see him do his PT test.
  25. So how exactly would that be enforced? Who is going to write someone up for a "clothing violation/uniform violation" in civilian clothing?
