  1. What else could they have added, military coup? Riots? Seems a legit lvl. 4, puts other lvl 4 COVID-only advisories to shame. "The Travel Advisory for Afghanistan remains Level 4-Do Not Travel due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, armed conflict, and COVID-19."
  2. Drop on request vs. Self Initiated Elim, same right? Failing/washing out another matter, ref. rated aircrew is voluntary duty going in...presently...until draft
  3. How about to enable 21 days of glutanous traveling/leave in Spain? ...and their famous beaches...those good reasons? Certainly sand, skin, food and wine can't be bad things (in moderation, which they weren't, the more the better!)
  4. They're looking at "seasoning" options to "produce" more after wings too. Totally just fluffing the heck out of everything - aka smoke amd mirrors, but you can see we're running out of options
  5. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/house-set-repeal-2002-iraq-war-authorization-n1271107 The repeal or even more legally defined/refined/limited AUMF would get the USA out in present capacity....I am awaiting the AUMF's repeal or heavy modification. The 'complex' will change if the AUMF is repealed. The present AUMF is the legal flexibility from which the 'complex' is thriving.
  6. Did you say Dr. Mulligan? As in lab oops, sliced that a little much right...? Or took that one home with me, oops?

This, BigRed, and AF doesn't understand all the implications yet, the 5 yr look is NOT yet mandatory but recommended legally I believe (prob. to get the glacier moving that way before legally mandatory)
  8. Start with the approvals in the AFIs and funding, then tie in local Wing and flight safety.
  9. T-44A had it. I forget which model, King RNAV something... However I'll never forget planning a beach tour XC from NAS Corpus to Gainesville which the IP refused to use because he didn't understand the FMS/Nav systems capes - dang I nerded out back then.

From 1 day after checkin to 3 months out from my direct observation. 1 day after scenario was person PCA'd from SOS instructor to ACSC.
  11. 2 pickup locations are determined by previous authorizations/orders and/or used allowance/entitlement. For example: I did 2 pickups within the same city no problem last PCS. Just listed it in pickup request and reflected it would be below max FGO allowance. Easy. Many people do this from storage and domicile/house within 50 mile radius. But if you were to do 2 pickup from different cities/"areas", were your dependents authorized to stay? Were they not authorized to go to new place (similar but different question)? If not, have you used your Home of record (HOR) move? Want to? Did you not use 100% of previous PCS HHG allowance moved? It sounds like your orders should be (confirm?) unaccompanied PCS orders in which you took/used minimal PCS HHG entitlement to D.C. In which case you will use for TMO a combo of your unaccompanied and previous accompanied PCS orders with your new accompanied OCONUS orders to get it all to the same, new, OCONUS place. If it's not this case, TMO will probably give you trouble. G'luck. You might be able to consolidate it at your family's departure point and get days to do that. As in, geo-bach stuff moved to family and then whole of family's stuff to OCONUS. That'll take some working, but should he do-able. Is there not still Senior and Command Pilot Wings? (There are, and Unicorns still wear them) Is there not a Master Instructor rating from AETC? (There is...) For both of these the AF doesn't, practically as in benefits, value them. Commanders get additional pay do Master Instructors? Or Command Pilots? Who gets preference? Commanders get to schedule themselves, do Senior Pilots?

5 year buckets aren't yet instituted, ask AFPC/A1...as far as I know continuation and twice passed over are still "things"...my data is from this week

You mean as in OSD vector infers sub 1 percentile? Tell you this much that hopefully already know: The realistic percentages that can actually fulfill those vectors do not match the actual capability/quantity of billets So, thresholds are typically inferred as <1%, 2-5%, 10%, 25-30% and...Wing Staff. There is a few conflicting slides/numbers floating around functionals' webpages. And your right, seems MAJCOMs infer different numbers
  18. Navy is and will be using AFSAS...or, uh, NAFSAS?! That'll make their stuff easier to see through your local AF/SE rep. https://www.whs.mil/News/News-Display/Article/2325542/three-tips-ease-move-to-new-incident-reporting-system-taking-effect-aug-31/

You mean they're debating subtle numbers (promo board OOM) which are REAL feedback!? And delaying, thus not giving, useful feedback. No way, pfft! Patience is what Big Blue demands without saying, patience and trust. Which is exactly what people cautiously grant or no. Side question: if a person meets a supplemental promo board and gets picked up, what is their line number/OOM? And hence, what is their back pay?
  20. President Washington owned slaves (https://www.mountvernon.org/george-washington/slavery/ten-facts-about-washington-slavery/), should we not celebrate the 1st President because of this association? Should we rename D.C. and Washington State too? Many value and follow the Office of the President, should we abandon that too because of a historical association to the 1st President? Values change when the context changes. Understanding why, where, and when they change, via historic lessons, is seeking true wisdom and balance. Not celebrating history, those lessons of historic values and their changes, is ignoring wisdom and embracing bias.

  22. Absolutely MWS affects career opportunities; however, as a rule of thumb, not absolute rule. Big MWS = more opportunities but more competition, and typically more relesability later in career for different options/paths. Smaller MWS = fewer competitors however not necessarily less opportunities, depends how far apart the asset is spread. Positions like staff, test, DETs, etc. vary in size, location, and impact. For both types of MWS, big amd small fleet: Look at mission, typical TDY locations (i.e. MSN/CC or DET/CC), etc. Opportunities abound in the next few years due to high attrition in the near past. Some briefs now say whomever, Officer-wise, is still in-service in mid-2020's will command whether they like to or not. Don't know if COVID change that on a macro level or not, but do know several (~10) who are staying in for lack of outside opportunities. FGOs will bloat the next few years for this reason surely, and Aircrew Retention TF/CC recently, publicly said this. LD/HD assets typically experience personnel burnout, attrition, and therefore little releasability when you want it. LD assets have people jump ship for better opportunities on the outside.
  23. PPM isn't normally allowed for Transocean PCS', requires a big waiver Mailing was HHG for me, USPS shipping receipt listed price and weight for reimbursement. That was 12 and 8 years ago
