MOAB. That's a clear, but mistifying, deterrence-message.

Initial Pilot Training and Future Pilot Training

How does one merge AF acquisition shenanigans of/for pilots with a new level of Italian-Acquisition 'bravate o imbrogli'? And are the Italians contractors now? -

UPT-Next, UNT-Next, AF One-Next = CSAF-Next? But good question. What will be his legacy. Begs the future question: what is next-Next? -

Ask any Ops squadron (line flyer, DOT, DO, or CC) if they're completing their mandatory AGEP surveys on recent graduates. Bet you they're like, eh-GeP...bless you? Or ask, what did you just ask? -

Aircrew Graduate Eval Program: Goal. As part of the instructional systems development continuum, feedback gathered through the AGEP is used to ensure AETC formal flying training course graduates meet customer requirements. https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/aetc/publication/aetci36-2606/aetci36-2606.pdf -
It'd be Class A, Ground Safety mishap and investigated. Safety privilege isn't offered for them. "Promises of confidentiality are authorized in investigations of DAF nuclear surety, space, aviation, guided missile, directed energy, and friendly fire mishaps. Promises of confidentiality are not authorized for explosives, small arms, chemical agents, afloat, ground, motor vehicle, off-duty military mishaps, incidents, and hazards, with some exceptions." https://www.safety.af.mil/Home/Mishap-Investigation-Process/

Waived for TERA. Needs of the service were rebalancing more than LMs or their ADSCs. I was shocked, that guy was pleased to walk with TRICARE for Life, VA disability from working on SFS, and 2.5% of High-3 on ~15+ YAS.

I inprocessed a brand new LM for LAO and opened a training folder after he graduated the FTU. Less than a week later I closed the folder because of, and learned about, TERA. He was on terminal leave less than a week after that. #winning?

TERA has been active since the "great RIF" from NDAA FY2012 following the "great VSP" in early 2010s. TERA expires EoY FY25. https://www.af.mil/News/Photos/igphoto/2000923562/ https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/495744/tera-program-offers-enlisted-officers-early-retirement/ The authority to utilize TERA until December 31, 2025 is for force-shaping of active military forces by that NDAA by law. Doesn't mean by policy applicants will be approved for TERA.

Initial Pilot Training and Future Pilot Training

Maybe for this reason/policy, now rescinded 5.3.3. REMOVED. 5.3.3. SQ/CC may waive 30 percent of the total and PAA flying hours required for upgrade to aircraft commander... This change of policy must've been for some [welcome] reason!? And I'm not saying that max efforts are a problem in that community, but it is a risk and training opportunity missed b/c of no FP max effort quals when it seems training and qualifications are priorities, but its also "additional" training (qual and beans) with inherent risk requiring flt hours. Its all about in-seat experience on both counts. -

MC-J vol 2, 5.4 Qualification, para. 5.4.1 "First Pilots (FP) should accomplish a maximum effort take-off and landing in order to maintain this qualification." Must suck to not "should" and learn for ~2 years or more... -

Ha. Figures. Herk was designed specifically for blown-lift aerodynamics - its' express design-goal was to enable a core mission. You telling me pilots cannot even accomplish, understand, and operate this basic mission which hasn't changed since ~23 Aug 1954!? Hahahaha. AF training policies are so broken and the bobs don't listen. However, the Ops-Mx slides will green up by this policy. #notwinning But seriously: energy management and constant angle theory are things that have consequences when mismanaged in landings. Maybe student pilots should be taught them...and the basic design and handling characteristics of their plane. Or perhaps I'm overthinking this...B2B anyone!? (≠born to bounce) -

I would too if it was fully fielded MWS and working! About the working-MWS part, typically PA and gaggle would be all over an IOC and FOC publically making an announcement (watch out for it in the future, they just cannot resist, case in point. It might be cool then, till then seems it's not ready to kick-a...haven't seen the IOC/FOC PA gaggle. Probably 'accelerating' past only-TPS grads/OT-pilots hands into pre-pre-IOC at FTU. Seems an unsmart accelera'juon past reason based upon publicly released info. Also, why is the buy cut in half, again, for a second year in a row? https://www.airandspaceforces.com/socom-oa-1k-armed-overwatch-cut-2026/

Safety is a Commander's program. Commanders ordered and approved the changes, what do you think?

That's inside baseball bro! Cannot show the math, because then the sacred cows would be at risk [the blue sacred cow = AD process and structure, the undisclosed non-negotiable. Not even historic pilot attrition has fatally cracked it. Superficially cracked, yeah. ] -

In 2005-2007 pathway to wings was like: IFT your choice of civil school for PPL (40-50 flt hrs), then ENJJPT or JS/SUPT phases 1-3 (200-275 flt hrs depending upon Advanced turboprop track, T-1, or T-38) Later came IFT->IFS (reduced to solo). And ever since KPUB IFS has been a thing, right? Then chiefly came UPT-Next/2.0 (~55-65 in T-6) ultimately creating the present paper tiger. Winging at end of phase 2. Granted that ignores stray cats like XPW, etc. -

Remember legacy UPT could be the present UPT. UPT Next and UPT 2.0 was dubbed "UPT". So reverting back to Grandfather UPT, that snappy ole' reliable pappy, is to what they're refering?. ...the tried and true UPT version that stood for ~50 yrs!? That one, yes? -
