  1. His legendary douchebaggery poisoned a generation of Herk drivers. The best thing that could happen as a result of his toxic leadership is for those that were forced to serve under him to use him as an example of what not to be.
  2. Word on the street is retirement.
  3. Thanks for the info, Toro. For everyone's SA, Downtown Aviation is booked through November.
  4. Now I am confused... (not hard to do) I have my Mil Comp CFI testing done, but I haven't taken it to a FSDO yet. Once I do that and get the rating added, I have to hand-carry a copy of my Form 8 to the FSDO to renew every 12 months?
  5. I've been hearing good things about Cobra Kai in Wichita Falls. 5-6 hours from SAT, right? Couple of former ENJJPT IPs and a fair DPE from what I hear.
  6. You may want to consider the fact that you'll be signing a ten-year commitment that begins after you complete UPT. The USAF will have full control over assignments, jobs, aircraft, upgrades, work hours, pay, where you can live, where you travel/ vacation to and for how long. I could go on, but I think my point is made. Ten years is a long time.
  7. Gone.... unless you signed an ADSC for a pilot retention bonus.
  8. So when is the AF ditching IBM forms for PDFs again?
  9. I've been in a unit with a true DCC program, and it was noticeably different (in a good way). The fact that they were still getting planes fresh off the assembly line could not have hurt either.
  10. That's exactly what I was asking--can you serve out your ADSC as an AGR?
  11. So if you take the bonus, are you inelgible from taking an AGR job at a later time, but before the expiration of your bonus ADSC?
  12. Source on the total number of seats?
  13. Not nearly as bad as you describe, 17D_Guy, but the closest thing I've seen are flying units co-located with NAF/AOC/MAJCOM on the same base. Lines get blurry real quick when you have anyone from any of those higher echelons calling the flying squadron tasking them outside of the normal chain. Examples: A3V calling/emailing squadron stan/eval directly. AOC/AMD Plans calling squadron tactics asking for "help". Not that I've ever experienced this first hand, but I hear the list can go on and on. By the way, I still don't know what a NAF does in the first place... still waiting for a good answer on that one.
  14. Now that's why I love the AF: "You're so valuable we will pay you extra to stay in....sign here." Years later... "Yeah you remember how we said you were valuable? Not so much to offer you continuation. See ya."
  15. This can't honestly surprise any of you...
  16. I don't have the PSDM in front of me but I thought I remembered seeing that this year SRs were to rack/stack all selects and 20% of candidates.
  17. It makes sense. Dudes "good enough" for IDE should be good enough for any school, should they not? We are basically using IDE in-res as a discriminator for command and, eventually, promotion to O-6. If we are eventually going to stand them up in front of units as CCs and then potentially later in front of our joint partners as Colonels, why not arm them as best as possible with a school fitting of their talents/work ethic.
  18. The TMT tasker...next step of escalation on the AF's passive aggressive scale, preceded of course by the sternly-worded email.
  19. CZ has been exiled to a mediocre job. Current 19th leadership is still a factor.
  20. Did someone force you to apply to the special program? Did you not know a photo was required when you threw your name in the hat? First world problems, man. As for the service dress photo for CGOQ... Sorry man. My little slices of heaven over the last few years have had UOD photos for quarterly award winners and only annual winners had to break out the cheap blue business suit.
