  1. C-130's at Yokota had a 100% promotion rate, both H's and J's.
  2. Quick update, the University of Arkansas just offered my son in-state tuition out of the blue. It's their policy now that if you earn a Type 7 scholarship, they'll honor it as if you are an in state resident. Sweet deal.
  3. I can definitely tell you that the University of Arkansas did not offer my son in state tuition. We lived there for 6 years but I PCS'd to Japan. Since I'm still on active duty, my home of residence is Michigan, my son did not qualify for in-state tuition which changed his scholarship from a Type 7 to a Type 2 (4 year to 3 year). To date, since my son graduated high school in Japan, I cannot get any college to offer him in-state tuition. I'm not even kidding.
  4. Anyone got the skinny on this program? I've got plenty of articles from google that speak of the program's greatness but these all have that Public Affairs flavor (spouting the company line). I was "unofficially" notified that I've been selected. 90% leaning towards 3-day opting out.
  5. Good point. I don't see a reason to keep the OSS open either if they can use the 19th's?
  6. So now what? No J's? What if the 913th has no Engineers and Navs but they have legacy planes....
  7. http://www.yokota.af.mil/library/biographies/bio.asp?id=15915 Possible new 19AW CC? Just a rumor.
  8. Link to news story The story is old but the Active Duty side was told that the budget is through the house and it's with the senate now. There will be obvious objections from N.C. but maybe AR and MS do have more pull. Then again, Legacy planes could stay but that doesn't seem to make much sense. The reserve unit that is standing up next month probably lose out the most with the uncertainty. If the budget passes by October, there will be J's here by next summer.
  9. When you use the term "graduated", are you just bragging that you didn't get fired?
  10. Here's an excerpt of the email stating the results in 2012 at Team Little Rock. CZ's 314th brought the overall numbers down. The 19th did a little better. PM me if you want to talk names of the non-selects, some aren't a surprise. That being said, rumor has it that if you failed a PT test sometime in your career, CZ wouldn't give you a DP. Commanders, BL: Please find promotion rosters for the P0411D (Major LAF) and P0511C boards in attachment. IMPACT: LR promotion rate for P0411D, out of 41 IPZ, 30 were selected for promotion; for a promotion rate of 73.7%. The Air Force rate for % selected was 89.3% and the AMC rate was 88.6% (See "0411D Cons vs Sel" PDF).
  11. Promotion Rate at LRAFB for Capt to Maj was 67% When he was WG CC. Also heard he's not a big fan of the plagiarism at SOS!
