  1. I didn't see any mention of the utilities allowance that overseas members receive in addition to the capped OHA rate. Either way, I agree that the only people that will eventually benefit from this are the owners of all the "Eagles Landing", "Pilots Cove", and "Base Vista" apartment complexes out there.
  2. So I read through all 34 pages, and in one of the posts, I saw someone say that leave was not transferrable. Does this include if you PC to an AGR position? (yes, I know, rare) If so, can you be on AD terminal leave when you start to work at your AGR position?
  3. Would a doc let you pull off something like this?
  4. So with rumors of the FY17 rates going up any talk of the maximum time in service increasing?
  5. Especially since the only guys sitting on the fence are likely in their last look for IDE. Those results come out in October. Bonus programs end with the FY. I can't imagine why someone would sign now versus at the last minute in September, except maybe an assignment.. but even, that is one potential good-deal assignment. To me, there is no way I'd sign a 9-year bonus based solely on an upcoming 3-4 year good deal.
  6. I'm with you guys, but seriously, what are you realistically expecting to change? It didn't seem like too long ago when the Chief of effing Staff directed people to stop doing dumb things that are wastes of time. What happened there? Not much change to speak of in my neck of the woods. That message got diluted, at best, as it trickled through the staffs and to the O-6 and below management crowd. I say "at best" because I've mostly seen it flat-out disregarded, only to have management scoff when someone in their organization is brazen enough to say "aren't we supposed to stop doing dumb things?" So if CSAF said to stop doing it, and it's still going on, do you honestly think the queep factor is going to improve?
  7. So if Goldfein is going to be the next CSAF, what 11F GO is going to command USAFE when Gen Gorenc retires?
  8. So that's the third or fourth post pretty much saying the same thing.... In summary, get a DP, but those efforts start years before your PRF is written. If you can't pull a DP, hopefully your SR at least knows your name and you have someone in your chain of command pulling for you.
  9. Some of those larger programs can be a roll of the dice when it comes to military friendliness, as well.
  10. There are way too many other variables to track that data. "Super P" means nothing if there isn't a decent record of performance to back it up (i.e., strats, PME pushes, and follow-on staff recommendations that match the strat ). It also depends a great deal on who is signing the PRF. Not all senior raters carry the same amount of weight. To make matters more complicated, a senior rater that would have normally done well at an MLR or CSB can be called out for shenanigans that affect his/her credibility and therefore influence the outcome of the boards. Examples include strong positive language on a bottom line with no record to back it up, multiple "super P" or "if I had one more..." pushes amongst eligibles, or exaggerated/just plain untruthful verbiage in the narrative that board members catch.
  11. So what happened to the rumored OSD/SECAF initiative to display diversity in the next CSAF selection? Seems like another old white male fighter pilot to me. Other than the fact that it's not McD, I'm not sure what there is to get excited about. Things can certainly get worse (McD), but how is Goldfein or anyone else going to make things better? Current CSAF was handed a shit sandwich and did very little to change course--some would argue things have gotten worse. If nothing else, the last few years have taught me that the bureaucracy of the Air Force makes it almost impossible to make lasting change.
  12. Guys go to WIC to help their careers?
  13. Don't overthink it. It makes no difference what Phoenix program you're in, if you can't pass your PT test, you will not be promoted. Patch or no patch. AMC gets it, and it's getting better. The CCs Aide and Exec are both patches - but they didn't get there because of the patch. It's just one step, of many possible and many required... Chuck How is that Everhart's aide and exec being patches is a good thing? Why aren't they out building, teaching, and leading. CAF dudes, pipe in. What do you guys do with your patches from about 1-2 years TIG to O-4 and beyond.
  14. Keeping giving Downtown in Memphis a call and periodically check to see if they have last minute openings--well worth it.
  15. If you see Gen Hyten pop up for an assignment other than CSAF, get very worried. That will be the least of our problems.
  16. One of the emails that was resent had a dude's name taken off of it since he already took the bonus. It was weird cause the list has a few prior E's on there who I thought weren't bonus eligible. I assume it's an AMS pull of everyone who hasn't taken the bonus. But I don't have a damn clue, I just see the email traffic and wonder while I wait for my parole. The provision in the bonus contract that previously limited prior-Es due to total time in service at end of their UPT commitment was changed with this year's program.
  17. Curious if he's meeting with takers and non-takers in the eligible pool.
  18. Just rock the mind-numbing easy course and enjoy the spare time.
  19. Is there absolutely no way you can get back to the states? Sim? Upgrade or training course? Conference?
  20. You need to contact the ATP school that you're looking to go through and talk to their examiner.
  21. All the more reason our promotion system is jacked up and based on dubious messages. Dude is a Lt Gen's #3 eligible in a sizable pool and he doesn't know what to think with regard to his chances because of conflicting messages on the PRF. Nonsense.
  22. Just make some shit up and go have a beer or six. It's fake work.
  23. Not sure about signing up after completion of a five year contract, but I did notice that the offer for "all pilots" (removing the TIS limit) paid $15K/year versus the standard $25K. Not enough, in my opinion.
