I saw an article on Twitter, not posting it here until I see more information to confirm its authenticity but it was an interview with a doctor who claims mRNA fragments from vaccinated persons can be transferred to non-vaccinated persons through sexual or other close contact. If true, that is huge and something that was not supposed to happen.

Of course but will the unions ever allow it. My grandparents are mostly blue collar workers from the northeast and as a child they attempted to indoctrinate me on the union way of life. Don't get me wrong, unions can serve a very important purpose, especially as a balance to unrestrained capitalism. That being said, modern unions have morphed into self-licking ice cream cones that don't serve the purpose of the worker. The investment in JRTOC and ROTC waxes and wanes with the times. I would bet with the current recruiting issues the investment will increase. I understand what you are saying but completely disagree when it comes to the rank argument. As has been pointed out by others, you can remove the JRTOC rank structure and the void will be filled by some other social construct, likely without supervision. Have their been problems, of course, but that is a natural distribution of bad people in society and I think there is value to an "official" framework, far better than the hunger games that will result in many of these under-resourced schools. Let's face it, that is the focus of military recruiting and has been for a long time. Minorities serve at a much higher rate than the current population distribution. Again, given the current recruiting issues, that distribution will likely increase. I understand your intent but the real issue is leadership and family structure. Debatable...the kid is wicked smart...sadly he looks just like me but he so smart I am wondering if the Fedex guy didn't make an extra stop while I was deployed. My kid is being recruited because of his academics and it is a bigger feeding frenzy than the process I went through when I was recruited but a large number of colleges to play football. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. He is only a sophomore and they are all over him. I have his email on my phone to keep an eye on things and he gets three or four emails every single day. He has been invited to summer dual enrollment programs at MIT and Georgetown this year. I haven't kept track of the smaller school but as of last month he had 28 major schools after him including Cornell, Georgetown, MIT, Vanderbilt and Miami. Enough with the dad flex, I am proud of him. I used to love Chicago, amazing city...now like most liberal run cities it has a lunatic mayor and one of the highest murder rates in the country. JROTC could be one of the pillars that helps kids find disciple and success but the overall underlying system has crumbled in Chicago. Add that to the impact of the family structure and you find the root of many problems. African America children in particular demonstrate how the lack of a family structure drastically increases the likelihood of a bad outcome.

I've watched my son the past two years and it has been nothing but stellar, Christ he spent more hours (200+), doing community service last year in JROTC than he did in SGA. I am not sure what team sports you played but I played football and baseball all four years and there most certainly was a rank structure. From JV to Varsity, backup to starters and god forbid to team CAPTAINS...how dare they use that rank structure moniker! For me rank was neither a privilege nor a "burden", it was a responsibility and I learned that responsibility by working my way up. I was a team captain as a junior and I knew that meant every single practice and every single game.

Maybe you could start the JR Woke leadership program in high schools to employ your theory? Dude...it is a military program, there is rank in the military, put the woke juice back on the shelf. This isn't TAPS with a bunch of Tom Cruise types in the window with a machine gun, it is simply JROTC. Is there anything sacrosanct in the woke world?

Yes, he meant JRTOC ranks and I disagree. It is a military based leadership program that teaches both leadership and followership, there is a purpose to ranks in that model that has been proven over a thousand years.

My son is doing Navy JROTC in high school (AF JROTC offered at the High School across town). Yesterday he came home and told me they announced they are doing away with all ranks in the name of equality. WTF?!? I am speechless, no more ranks in the military?

Watched a similar thing happen at Kunsan. We held int he EOR 45 minutes when another two ship of F-16's taxing out and decided to Leroy Jenkins down the runway...I will never forget the water spray off the nose wheel, it no shit looked like the Pilatus below, I could not believe the dude was launching. We aborted, taxied back, and went to the squadron. An hour and a half later we hear the two ship diverted to Kimhae due to weather (no shit!) Of course the weather was crap at Kimhae as well and the first aircraft ended up hydroplaning down the runway and taking the barrier. The second dude landed, hydroplaned and had to steer off the runway in order to avoid hitting the other aircraft still stuck in the barrier. The second dude struck the MA-1A chain and seriously forked up the underside of the jet, the engine and as I recall the ECM pod...Nice job for an IP. Didn't hurt his career, years later he ended up back in Korea as DO of the 35th, SQ/SS at Luke, Wing CV, ABW/CC before he was finally relieved...but that is a story for another day.

The great game is always full of twists, turns and backroom deals. You just never know what the final outcome will be. I want Ukraine to regain it's pre-2014 invasion borders, partly because it honors our word, mostly because it will remove Putin from power and relegate him to the pile of failed despots and will likely stop any Russian aggression for a century. Yes, we signed and gave security assurances. We should not examine what happened using today's optic. Rather, we should consider the environmental conditions at the time. Bottomline, much like Afghanistan if we fail to keep our word with Ukraine, why would anyone ever trust us again.
