Because some want to go outside the rules and release it to damage him. Since Gaetz has resigned, the probe has ended as the panel only has jurisdiction over a member when they are serving in Congress.
-
That is the rub, it will never come out. It was going to be released today but because he resigned effective Wednesday, the case is closed.

Interesting to see some second and third order effects from the election. The pendulum is defiantly swinging away from woke-ism and progressive messaging. Post election MSNBC, the #2 most watched news network saw it saw it's average daily viewership decline by 54%, CNN took it on the chin as well with a 36% decline. CNN was already circling the drain, in 2023 they hit a ten year low in ratings and earlier this year they laid off 100 employees. In recent days word has leaked that CNN is laying off and letting go some of their "top tier" on air talent as well as HUNDREDS of staff. Sad to see the decline, they were the gold standard for so long. Who else remembers watching the 1st Gulf War live on CNN. Bernard Shaw live in Baghdad when the bombing started. Sadly Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper turned the network into a progressive Trump hate machine and pulled them into the quicksand, now they are nothing more than a JV squad. Foxnews on the other hand saw a staggering 10+ Million viewers during its election night coverage, the network averaged 4.375 million viewers from last Wednesday to Friday. That’s a 34% increase compared to its October viewership (3.27 million viewers) as well as a 58% increase compared to its year-to-date average (2.775 million viewers). All of these numbers are reported as Nielsen figures. I am not defending Foxnews, they obviously are the screaming from the other side but their message, especially in recent years seems to resonate with more people. I still try to rotate around the networks, election night was tough to keep MSNBC tuned in...they started off believing it was going to be a Harris landslide and they kept hanging their hat on that Iowa outlier poll that had her leading Iowa by 10 points. When Iowa was called for Trump early, you could see the tone change. Maddow began her slow on air decline into had and the end of the world. CNN was not much better, Van Jones upon realizing Trump would win tried to label it a race backlash and nearly came to tears defending illegals and their "dream."

Most believe he resigned effective immediately to stop the House Ethics Investigation from being released. Huh? He has never been convicted of a crime. The DOJ declined to prosecute after their investigation. He was arrested in 2008 for DUI but was not convicted.
-
I knew I was not getting a far left progressive who was happy to take away the 1st and 2nd amendment, while paying for the sex changes of illegals and felons in prison all while cramming DEI up my ass.

I understand your point but disagree. I fully understand his optic and the relentless use of lies, deceit and government agencies to stop his candidacy. However, we are a nation of laws and if we simply go with people that are loyal to POTUS rather than the Constitution they we have stepped onto some very slippery ice. Think about the certification of the last election, Pence would not bend to the Trump will and was excommunicated for being disloyal. Like most of the people on this forum I swore an oath to the Constitution not the President. I don't like Trump but I am glad he beat was what clearly a far worse choice, going down a road of decision making that follows loyalty to POTUS over the rule of law and the Constitution is a non-starter to me. Trump has an epic opportunity to make meaningful change and to prove a lot of people wrong. I don't mind game changing picks like Hegseth and Elon, but we need people who will push back, even at the risk of being fired, when faced with choices that are more self-serving than legal.
-
Concur, my biggest concern about his picks. While I want him to shake up and change the establishment there should be some solid thought behind it. He was interviewed two days ago about his picks and they asked him about his criteria, his #1 was loyalty which I completely disagree with. We will see how is shakes out.

Florida with a population of 22 million completed the ballot count that evening, while Arizona with 7 million took a week...a complete embarrassment for Arizona, but they don't care. Florida made big changes after the hanging chads incident and it shows. Early voting opens 22 days prior and they count all of early ballots before election day. In fact, it is state law that the early ballot results MUST be posted 30 minutes after the polls close. I voted about two weeks early and was in and out in 5 minutes, my wife voted the day of and it took her about the same amount of time. I think the process encourages voting, our county has roughly 145,000 registered voters and 113,000 of them voted in this election.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year

I know a retired General Officer who has already been approached about being on the board. -
What is wrong with you people? How could Hegseth with a Bachelor of Arts in politics at Princeton University, A Master of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University, multiple combat tours possibly know anything about leading the people in the DoD? Instead we should rely on professionally trained people like Donald Rumsfeld, at the time of his nomination had three years on active duty and two terms as a Congressman under his belt. Maybe Obama's model is better, he picked Chuck Hagel who served as a squad leader in Vietnam before becoming a senator, businessman and LOBBYIST. You are all racist.

Pete Hegseth named to be SECDEF....WOW! He was labeled a threat/extremist by his Guard unit for vigorously supporting Trump. I hope he turns the building upside down!

The DNC is self-immolating with the blame game, I hope they come to some self-reflection about just how extreme they became. Fareed does a good job of breaking down three major mistakes, even if he does pat himself on the back for calling these errors in advance. 1. "The collapse of the immigration system and the chaos at the border" 2. "The overzealous misuse of the law to punish Trump" "Overeducated urban liberals were hypocrites, happy to bend rules and norms when it suited their purpose." 3. "The dominance of identity politics that came from the urban academic bubble." He wraps with liberals using "speech codes and cancel culture that censors or restricts that most cherished of liberal ideas....free speech" The GOP was got reflect and corrected after the beatdown that was supposed to be a red wave in 2022, I wonder how long it will take the DNC to cull the heard. California and Massachusetts are poised to fight to the death for the failed policies...the shit show will continue.

A flight carrying the Auburn basketball team had to declare an emergency after a fight between player broke out while airborne. One player was "bloodied." The initial report was "roughhousing got out of hand." The message forums are hilarious saying it was the result of a three way love triangle where two of the players were hooking up with each and one got caught with another dude. Whatever happened mist have been quite a brawl to declare an IFE and ask for police to be waiting when you land.

I want to echo Negatory here and say "Harris is not my favorite" But with that being said, I'd also like to say Orange Man is a fascist Hitler. Have you seen the GOP lately? They want closed borders, they object to us paying education, housing and well EVERYTHING for illegals. They think biological men shouldn't play women's sports, they object to lawfare waged against political opponents, they are against removing the genitals of minors without telling parents, they are against forced gun buy backs, they are against taxpayers paying for sex change operations for prison inmates, they hate inflation, and incredulously, they want to keep the 1st amendment in place. Fuck Republicans. That's what you want to forum to be....buddy.

This and they just can't accept this rationale so they cry like all the yentas on the view.

Saying something when FSU is our only hope this weekend!

He should. During his tenure the FBI was weaponized into an arm of the DNC.
-
Your standard tactic when confronted with the horrific actions of your party...counter with something a FORMER aide said he did. You can never admit of confront the evil. Trump sucks, I've said it a thousand times, but the DNC has no limits to what they will do to retain power.
-
Today we have ANOTHER demonstration of the EVIL that the DNC has become. They seem to have no limits to their contempt and corruption. We started down an ugly path under Obama when the IRS started targeting conservative groups. They malfeasance grew when the FBI invented FISA warrants to spy on a Presidential candidate, Then the intelligence community sought to suppress what they knew was a real laptop story. When the DOJ decided to wage lawfare against a political opponent I thought we found the limit of their evil...sadly we now they will punish individual Americans in their greatest time of need, simply because they have a different political ideology. FEMA official removed from role for directing hurricane relief away from Trump supporters' homes This traitor actually instructed workers canvassing Lake Placid in Florida to "avoid homes advertising Trump." What evil must circle in his consciousness. Interestingly he was only "removed" from his role but remains an employee of FEMA. Disgusting.

Mattis is a different animal, he actually has ethics.

It wasn't just the candidate, it was the policies, Joe would have lost this election as well. The open border, paying for transition surgery for illegals and prison inmates, wokeism, green new deal, govt spending, lawfare, openly supporting suppression of Constitutional rights like free speech. Don't get me wrong, unrestrained conservative policies can be just as bad, but after four years of the DNC running amok, the people were so soured that they overlooked the abortion issue and reelected the Orange Man.

The election is dominating the news cycle but the think tanks and watchers are shooting up red flares. Highly recommend the Institute for the Study of War, they have a daily summary daily summary that is very detailed. Also, get outside of the U.S. based news agencies, some of the sites based int he Middle East have excellent reporting. A couple of key indicators: - Iran observed moving more missiles into launch position. (Open source reporting) - Intel reports Iran plan to use some of their better capabilities (different missiles and bigger warheads), this time. (Wall Street Journal - 12 F-15Es did a hasty deployment to Jordan two days ago. US F-15 Strike Eagle fighter jets en route to Middle East ahead of possible Iranian retaliatory attack on Israel: report (New York Post) - RC-135 Rivet Joint arrived in Jordan 12 hours ago. (OSINT Defender) - Iraq is now a center of gravity as Qatar tells Hamas to move HQ out of Qatar. (ISOW) - Hezbollah ramping attacks as well, used a Fateh-110 ballistic missile for the first time. (Open source). - Iran said planning to use more powerful weapons in next attack on Israel (Axios) - Iran’s IRGC plans ‘complex’ retaliation to Israel: What we know (AL Monitor) There are several X pages that do an incredible job (almost too good), of collecting and collating open source information and presented it with context.
