We don't have the death problems in cyber, but this is exactly what it's like in our space now. Hopefully we can replicate your success as fast, if not faster. I'm going to steal your words for when I have to brief another GO about why there's no cyber "easy button."

Captain Marvel was pretty good. Wasn't man hating and well done female empowerment. Plus, lots of "vintage" AF stuff all over it.

Cyber is all in now. Which means you can roll of a ops unit, taking the fight to the enemy and doing cool things. And roll into command a communications cyber squadron at Tinker fixing email and cell phones. https://tenor.com/NsbZ.gif

	Yea, fuck those guys.

Sold my bike when moving to San Antonio because the drivers here are garbage. Always wanted a SV.

Federal Judge in Tx Rules Draft Unconstitutional17D_guy replied to ThreeHoler's topic in General Discussion More academic bullshit from someone with too much time on their hands, cashing a government grant, pushing the everyone's special narrative and helping absolutely no one in the real world. The fucking stalls don't fit my (imaginary) dragon-kin wings.

For real? That went through Congress...remember we have to pass the bill before we can read the bill?

Had a buddy who once called me because he was a poor missile maintenance officer at Minot arriving shortly after failure #2. His boss was up in arms about something great the Lt did, and wanted a story to sell to leadership. CC was known for taking off he's lower ranking officer's names in emails and drafted MFR's to make it all about himself. Told my bud to write out the MFR, print it, sign, scan and email it. Then claim ignorance of doing a digital signature, or of saving the file to disk.

The Air Force doesn't define who you are. Great day when I realized that.

TIme for my boy to start shaving so I'm getting him one of these - https://www.amazon.com/MERKUR-Classic-MK-33C-3-Piece-Double/dp/B002A8JO48?th=1 And a pack of these to pick a double edge razor he likes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038KA5RC Taking time to learn how to wet shave, and the ritual involved, seems like a forgotten thing. I know I've let it slip and am currently using a Schick 5-blade cartridge. But when I was divorced and out of money, it came in handy paying 10 cents a week to shave.

	BUT MUH SWAMP CLEANING

You've been around long enough, you know how this works.

Well, this sucks. Finally had a SecDef that actually cared about the individual grunts and would hammer leadership for their stupidity without breaking the service (RE: Gates). I generally haven't cared much about who the SecDef was for the last 2 decades, but I am legit saddened by this development and think it does not bode well for our future. Except for the obvious bullshit social experiment under the last SecDef.

Oh, are we still pretending Wright Pat is a Air Force Base, and not a civilian run self-licking ice cream cone?

I've got my grievances with the HPO/Shiny Penny method of leadership selection we utilize. But there's got to be a difference between the APZ's you guys work with and the ones I do...because the ones I do are awful. Maj's that can't communicate, can't lead, can't even manage, extremely risk averse and should just dress up in a Blue Falcon costume. Never mind failing training requirements, and still demanding to be "first out the door." Perhaps I'm just institutionalized since I hit 20 early next year.

My guess is they're going for "combat related?"

	Jesus...this isn't reddit...calm down. 🤣

Seems like WotR is reading BODN for articles, or just serendipity that we were discussing this - https://warontherocks.com/2018/12/promoting-what-we-value-weapons-school-and-talent-management-in-the-air-force/ Super big fan of Cyber Patches being negatively impacted...again, shows what we value.

Are we projecting an officer SCOD without a corresponding change in strats? They can't do a SCOD with how we're doing strats now. There's so much double dipping (1/69 O3's, 1/969 CGO's, 1/6969 Officers) it would impact our "almost HPO's." Granted we're all worker bees, so I'm sure no one's telling the AFPC trolls (retired O5 & 6's) how that'll screw the field. Could always just get to narrative PRF's and do away with strats all together.
-
No he's correct. That's what all mine said. Here's correct about it, however our career-field is having a seizure about what we're going to value. I almost got sent to what a Sq CC considered a DO equivalent job... Except for the duty title. Wing and Sq would have "understood" but that's it, so I fought it. I would have been labeled poorly at DT since last opr said DO selection spot-on. Wing CC got appraised if situation and called shenanigans. I meant to say the young Capts are worrying about if the next job/move puts them in some HPO path or awesome wing job for a wing strat. Let about "bloom where planted." Those things can be influenced, but are beyond individual control.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year17D_guy replied to MDDieselPilot's topic in General Discussion You know it. Just let me take out my retainer first.
-
More for the Army - their new PT is fucking stupid and we need to guard against some fat-GS moron at HAF thinking it's a good idea to protect "their" force. Had a bunch of soldier going through it here in the gym one day and watching them go through it was just...insanity.
-
It's going to be interesting to see how this works in my AFSC since the first round of bonus takers comes retainability in a couple of years. I've got young Capts coming to me worrying about this stuff...when what pawnman is saying is accurate. None of this is in your hands, timing and luck cover a lot of these issues. Bad bosses, poor writers, stuck in a shitty command...God Speed.
-
There is also a documentary on Youtube that has this done, though not to such a high level. It's about the rise of communism and Stalin. It's fantastic.

Need more of you in Cyber. Started my folks doing "Threat of the Week" briefs and it was like a Holy Crusade against their no-work-Fridays. I've got maybe...4 people that really understand what Ops means/feels like. All prior aircrew or Mx.
