  1. Took the A-37 out for an FCF and then a cross country flight of 440 nm on Thursday. First flight since Sept and it flew great. Owner put on an additional set of drop tanks.

  3. Was NATO's refusal to sign that ultimatum in 2021 also the provocation of the Russian invasion of Crimea in 2014? How about Georgia in 2008? To say that NATO refusing to sign an absurd ultimatum constitutes a provocation is absurd. Putin is an egomaniac tyrant in charge of a large county. Small countries nearby rulers like that have always been at risk since the dawn of time. Putin knew NATO wouldn't sign it. It was obviously sent as a pretext when he had already decided to invade. He would have invaded regardless of any treaty because he could and he wanted to. That's all the reason he needs.

  5. Tip: you can delete everything in these links after the “?” and it’ll still work. The fbclid (Instagram uses igshid, others use similar) ties the link you share back to your Facebook account, which is how you and the link clicker will eventually be suggested as friends, among other things.

  6. While I don't like the suspension of elections in any scenario, the situation Ukraine is currently in is likely the most justifiable. Carrying out a campaign, having debates, and conducting an honest and open election in the middle of a war for their very survival on their own land would likely be a significant distraction from the battle and unlikely to meet the purpose of an election. How would votes from occupied territory count? The chances of those votes being cast with a Russian political soldier looking over their shoulder would be almost certain and risk a Russian puppet being "voted" into office. I don't like the suspension, but I understand it as reasonable. Biggest problem is the get well plan. An all out victory is unlikely while Putin is alive, so when will Ukraine hold an election next? Real Russian political opponents end up dead or in prison. I don't pretend that Ukraine is a model of a democracy, but Russia very well may be a model of what a democracy is not. To say that Ukraine postponed the elections and therefore this war is not about freedom and democracy anymore is a bit too jaded at this point in my opinion.

  8. I did not ask if there was a need or if there was a purpose, it was a simple question. Your sort of answer is you think he would have possibly started a war with the west or attacked before they could join. I didn't ask if the U.S. historically keeps promises, I asked if YOU believe in promises made, promises kept. You tried to "generally" answer then quoted a speech. I suggest you review the Trilateral Statement, signed in January 1994, under which Ukraine agreed to transfer the nuclear warheads to Russia for elimination. In return, Ukraine received security assurances from the United States, Russia and Britain.

  9. Maybe, maybe completely invalid. All depends on if one made a good spouse choice. @wikz If you meet someone who shares your values/morals, has good female/maternal qualities (even if you don’t want kids right away, those are still good qualities to look for), and is supportive of your goals, then do not pass her up. My wife has been instrumental in my life, and that includes 3 days after the honey moon when she moved alone to Vance and I went direct to party my face off at Maxwell for 6 weeks before starting UPT. The right one is out there, don’t be in a rush, but don’t go so fast you miss the signs of a quality mate. It may happen at the most unexpected time.

  11. Yikes. Dude seems like a sycophant more than a mastermind, but Jesus how much more proof do people need? One thing that stands out after having read the entire document, these people all seem to have believed their bullshit. I don't suspect Peter dashek and fauci believed their lies about the issue, but the leadership rarely does. However I suspect all of these underling scientists that were involved in letter campaigns, the actual research, testimony, news interviews, and all the other ways they were employed, really truly were so enamored with their scientific heroes that they believed anything they were told to believe, and thus believed they were justified in plainly absurd things such as overtly avoiding the foia requests, or promoting the natural origins theory. It goes to show how we are in an era of incompetence, with narcissistic clowns at the top of nearly every organization: Corporate America, academia, the government.

  12. Amen Brother Biff. Also, a quick search didn’t come up with any results, but if it’s already been posted I apologize, but the great Bud Anderson flew west a few days ago at the age of 102. A toast to the Old Crow and the last of the Triple Aces… https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/18/us/bud-anderson-dead.html?smid=url-share

  13. Once in a lifetime leader - should’ve been the next CSAF The one individual who may have revectored AMC from a bunch of careerist bus drivers to a command focused on war fighting.

  14. "It should've been the other guy". As true today as it was when the non-combat knife took command. Rumored call from SOCOM to CSAF was along the lines of "You can transfer him or watch me publicly fire him."

  15. They can also be an incredible ally in one of the hardest years of your life. Certainly I've seen them be a drain - and that couple usually ends up divorced. My wife of 20+ years was with me before and through UPT and she made my life during training infinitely easier and more comfortable. She also found a part time job so she wasn't cooped up in the house all day just waiting on formal release. To CaptainMorgan's point... we weren't complete newly weds and it would have been more shocking to go from honeymoon to UPT in days instead of months. That's fine. And I agree 100% - don't let your Tinder/Insta/Grindr/Bumble/Farmers Only flings distract you. But my only advice is don't be so closed minded that if the right one drops into your life that you ignore her for the wrong reasons.

  16. Gents, I'm all for healthy debate, but engaging with a known troll is pointless. If you'd prefer not to see posts from this simpleton you can go to your Profile > Settings > Ignored Users (scroll towards the bottom) and then enter the name of said simpleton. Standing by for down votes from simple jack.

  17. Conley is an absolute stud. I hope he jumps from this job to next COMAMC in three years (spent time as AMC/A5 and is well-respected in the mobility community).
