Hmmm.... I must have been doing something terribly wrong in the T-38. I usually took off with less than 1.5 hours of fuel on board. My landings did adhere to the Golden 12 Minute Rule, however.5 points

This is the exact plan with the KC-135. Sent from my Vitamix 450x Professional using Tapatalk4 points

My Squadrons hiring chair text me saying that results are rumored to be released late tomorrow. Stay Tuned!2 points

We should just be honest with ourselves and the fiscal reality that will be pushed on the DOD. The F-16 will be extended to however many hours until the wings come off one in flight..... And then they will "re-evaluate."2 points

What he said, you'll drive yourself mad. I will say this : every assignment is what you make of it. Know very few of my bros flying manned aircraft that don't love their job, myself included. I was pissed when I didn't get pointy noses but now I absolutely love being a low and dirty herc driver. I would kill to go back to the time to "learn to fly, drink beer and chase tail," fun times in Enoidville.2 points

On the bright side, all of you who took the early bonus have proved to Big Blue your undying loyalty! That should be a reward enough! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums1 point

Man I hate feeding the troll... I didn't read your article either. Stats can be manipulated to prove any point for someone with an agenda. Having said that, I sat on a rather severe court martial recently and was quite disgusted by several of the other officers mindset during sentencing. Things like "we have to send a message", "what will the Wing Commander think of me if we let this guy off light?" were actually said during the discussion. All in all, I was pretty happy that cooler heads prevailed, but it scared the crap out of me if I was ever on the other side of AF justice... Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums1 point

95% of murderers were chewing gum on the day they killed someone. Chewing gum obviously causes people to become murderers. That's how it works, right? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums1 point

Correlation vs causation: what is it? Note for the OP: Civilian attorneys are better than most ADCs no matter what race, gender, or any other immutable characteristic unrelated to our character.1 point

I heard a rumor that the results will be out by June 6th. This is the Air Force. Don’t believe anything until after you see it for yourself.1 point

Why should the AF pay an individual- who already named their price for an extended commitment last year with the ridiculous early commitment program- more money without incurring an additional commitment? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

No. Shell 77 was a malfunctioning part. We did recently have a plane with a massive crack on one of the main spars. They caught that one in time fortunately. Sent from my Vitamix 450x Professional using Tapatalk1 point

Get back to work dude...Backseat night landings have just the right amount of "fuckit" involved for my taste.1 point

I recommend you head over to the forum at Airline Pilot Central. It is more geared to what you are asking.1 point

I'd say those are pretty good odds, what are you going to do... not try?1 point

I was just about to ask the same thing.. My recruiter told me that he hasn't received results yet. Feet must be dragging this time around.1 point

2 Developing that technology would be ideal but as you said, it may be better to just upgrade to the new hotness rather than wind up with a motley fleet and the cost / logistics of maintaining two engine types. If GE's numbers are realistic for AC engine then it would be worth at least testing IRL on a F-35 test aircraft. 35% increase in range (from GE site), cut in half to 17.5% for an increase in combat radius and that's another 130+ NM for the A model in an air to air config (760 NM to 893 NM just using LM's public numbers) - serious improvement. American needs to get back into the X-plane business and/or at least pushing the envelope again in aircraft performance with existing designs, this would be a good project to develop a 5th gen with extreme combat radius capability if only for investigation/demonstration.1 point

I was going to post something really funny, but I didn't want to "ruin BaseOps" by being hilarious. Dude...you might want to try GOOGLE or something. Or actually read the POH. Either way, this thread is GOING PLACES!-1 points

I always thought the Air Force was the one place where equality and fairness actually meant something. Boy was I wrong. I knew this all along after I sat in on my first court martial. I thought if the kid who was being court martialed had a REAL lawyer he would walk free. If your defense counsel breaks out a PowerPoint presentation you should fire him/her or expect to be found guilty period. I told the Lt Col for JAG I will not be apart of another court martial due to the AF being just as biased as the civilian court system. He told me the WG/CC really wanted me on the board. I told my CC it's biased to his face too. The proof is in the pudding: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/06/07/black-troops-much-twice-likely-punished-commanders-courts/102555630/-3 points
