  1. Champ Kind has been lurking the board for more than a decade giving good advice to the young 'uns, so he has been upgraded to moderator.

It looks like the general feeling of the other posters can best be expressed in the following image: Congratulations on reaching that next level.
  3. Serious question: Since the gender lines have been blurred/removed why can’t I still have a female, either by choice or by chance as a roommate in the dorm? If they can assign a hetro person to live with a LGBT person who happens to biologically be the same gender but is also a cross dresser/transvestite/gay/butch fill in the blank (not that there’s anything wrong with those things) why can’t two hetro individuals of the opposite gender be roomies? I’d take A1C Yummypants or not-so-yummy, whom I may never touch, or even want to, over option “B” any day. Shit they do it at colleges all over the fvcking country in the spirit of “open mindedness” or some such crap. And before the spears get thrown from the “enlightened” crowd, I don’t care what consenting adults do behind closed doors. I just wouldn’t want to be taking place only inches from where I bunk. Anymore than I would want a gear head rebuilding a V-8 in the room (and yes, I’ve seen THAT done).
  4. THIS is why I don't pay for jack shit electronically. Cash or check, sure its old school, but its gets the job done. Not unlike BQ_Zip's mom.

Not a movie, but I binge watched the whole first season of True Detective over the weekend; pretty damn good! https://youtu.be/TXwCoNwBSkQ
  6. There's a big ######ing difference between volunteering to play a part in a production where you know the guy on the other end has no malice towards you and can't do anything physically damaging to you, and getting rolled up by an enemy that knows his actions will never see the light of day, and is acting on emotions. There's a big difference between hearing "boots" for 24hrs and hearing it for 24 days. There's a big difference between knowing you'll be done in 24hrs and not knowing if it'll ever end. There's a big difference between having the option to call for a medic and having it all instantly stop, and not. Don't compare it to SERE. I think that if you were rolled up by the North Koreans for an indefinite period and they were constrained to only using waterboarding, sleep deprivation, stress positions, confining spaces, mild beatings, etc., etc., you wouldn't have quite the rosy outlook that you had on the bus ride out to the SERE camp. It may not be bamboo shoots under your fingernails and broken bones, but it's a pretty common theme among guys who have been through that stuff that the psychological approaches were the worst. I have only this to say: Anybody saying "I'm not opposed to doing what had to be done" better not also think, "god damn savages" next time one of our guys shows up in a propaganda video and loses his head or is clearly not being treated well. It was convenient for our enemies to exploit their good fortune of having rolled up one of ours, and it's no different than when the tables were turned and we decided to act similarly.
  7. Is there anyway to remove a 'Like' accidentally given to a post? I can remove the reputation point from the poster, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the actual 'Like!' Cheers! M2

    Mother of God...
  9. If we have the means to verify it, then it isn't exactly new intel. There was this article detailing why the military should be the most pissed about the CIA torturing people. https://taskandpurpose.com/american-military-pissed-cia-torture-report/?utm_source=TP-Facebook&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=american-military-pissed-cia-torture-report
  10. Ten years? Noob. Congrats. Don't tase me bro.
  11. Outdoor Rec has a camper/RV/boat lot with a fence and locked gate. Out
  12. I think the outrage is the strangest thing about the whole report. Didn't we already know that this shit was happening? Discussions about whether or not "torture" produces accurate intel is a red herring. I think our society is built on ends not justifying means, so the question is are these means acceptable? I really want to know where is this generation's Hanns Scharff?
  13. Champ Kind!?! How far we've fallen. Welcome aboard.
  14. You may at some point come to understand that the report was crafted, by design, to upset you. It was released specifically to elicit an emotional response, decoupled from reason and informed thinking. And taken at face value with no counterpoint, it is natural for you to be upset. Despite the fact that I do not agree with all of the methods, I am not upset, but then I have the luxury of not being under the same illusions. Call back after MQT. You were the target audience of this report.
  15. How is the wing abbreviating BaseOps.net? BODN? BO.N? BOdN?
  16. Can you put the job on a 1206 for community involvement?
  17. I had to look it up. That movie has been around for 10 years. My lord!
  18. Park it on the lemon lot for 20% over market value. Should still be there in 4-5 months...
  19. i think more of us would have sided that way if the torturing actually led to anything usefull other then furthering some peoples careers running the program
  20. He was my best friend. Here's to you Will, you goofy SOB. You are already missed by 1000's and the world is a lesser place. A nickel on the grass...
