Venezuela and Narco Boats
Given the availability of current armed/ISR capability I would say it's way easier now. I'll defer to you experts. Definitely require some BOG located away from the oil facilities to act as a QRF in case things get out of hand. Best case it's a deterrent to bad actors. Optics are critical here and the locals will need to feel they're benefitting from the overall deal/setup. I think both sides can win.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
I reached out to the board because I’m in a unit that deploys frequently and exercises even more frequently. Some of our Squadron’s leadership team is deploying in a few months and I’d be next in line to cover for them while they’re gone, but if I’m leaving at the same time as them then they need to start prepping someone else for that role. Sometimes it isn’t about impatience, but at this point my unit is being asked by MAJCOM for info and answers about what personnel we have available for XYZ. I’m not saying they need to tell us our specific assignments, but they did originally say we could get assignments as early as Jan 2026, then didn’t send out RIPs for MFSs until Jan 2026, which means none of us are likely to move in Jan. They said RIPs would come out 30-60 days after selection notification. That hasn’t happened either. They said to reach out if you hadn’t received an assignment by 1 Mar, but didn’t specify when they expected people to actually begin PCSing. Will people get an assignment notification on 28 Feb and be expected to PCS mid-March to start training in April? These are valid questions and I’m happy for the people who have the flexibility to not worry too much about timelines, but that info is extremely valuable for some people and not only for them personally, but also for their existing unit that is critically manned and being tasked left and right.

Airscan was doing that back in the day. Flying skymasters with an IR sensor. Some retired gunship pilots and sensors were doing it.

Indiana -7.5. That's pretty wild for a team that was 3-9 two years ago.

Venezuela and Narco Boats
So… have the Narco boats stopped, or have we just stopped talking about them?

In GWOT, the shit job was TCN Duty. Now that Trump is promising security to Big Oil if they get back into Ven, who want to sign up for OFSP Duty (Oil Field Security Post)? I think BO is gonna run out the clock on spending more funds there seeing as lots of em are owed $$Bils from 2 previous seizures. Except maybe Chevon. I hear they're already there under some sort of deal so perhaps there's a few expansion opportunities.

Gun Talk
You guys really don't get it? This is a culture war play in the short term and a step in the direction of Australia style gun bands and "buybacks." And if they could get it, repeal of the 2nd. They know SCOTUS will strike a bunch of it down. But then they turn to their base and say "see, the ultra MAGA crazies are preventing us from keeping you safe!" The left never trusted that the right wasn't coming for abortion, and the right has never trusted that the left isn't coming for all the guns. Both sides are correct not to trust the other.

They are but I think Miami can run on them and that will be the key. I didn't really care who won last night (aside from the implications of Mario playing the program he built), so I watched it with my son and we broke it down like my coaches used to do at Miami. I think Miami can run up the middle, the A game is where Mario has invested all his stock and it shows especially the A gap. The right side of Miami's O line will all be playing on Sundays, especially Francis Mauigoa who is one of three Miami players expected to go int he first round. Oregon had success running outside on Indiana which was very surprising, their ends were not able to set and lack of speed on the edge could be their only weakness. Their zone left the short slant open which is exactly how Carson Beck picked apart Ohio State and Ole Miss. On the other side of the ball it is all about getting pressure on Mednoza...that dude can throw the rock...his accuracy is unreal, even when scrambling. It is up to Bain and Mesidor, if they are successful we will have a game. The last piece is the intangible. If you play the game you can feel it on the field, the way the ball bounces on a fumble or a tip...some days things just go your way. Miami dropped four certain interceptions with Ole Miss. The intangible could play a big part in a close game. It was a great year (for some), I am proud of my team that almost got left out again, win or lose they should be proud.- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Tbh, I think they’re waiting until the group on Jan 15 for MFS (last group based on dates I’ve heard from you all) to get that knocked out and then they’ll release all the RIPs at once. That’s the only options that makes sense to me unless they were talking about the MFS rip (which was a training rip) and the assignment notification being NLT Feb 28th. Either way, very frustrating, hoping after we all come back certified from WP, we’ll hear something.- Gun Talk
The only real deterrent, and I doubt if it is legal, would be to hold the lawmakers in contempt of court and put them in jail for passing laws that any first year law student could tell will absolutely be struck down by the courts. Otherwise they pass a law they know will get struck down, but makes life miserable for gun owners until it does. Then once it gets struck, they change happy to glad and pass it again knowing full well what the result will be.- College Football

When will SCOTUS get tired of hearing shit like this (because it’ll go there if this passes); it’s like dealing with petulant children who don’t get NO means NO- Gun Talk

Which is even more of a reason to go!- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
In the theme of “keeping it real” I’m not saying I disagree with what you’re saying, however after being in the military for close to 11 years now, being in limbo with a set expectation of 30-60 days of hearing something back and going past that isn’t okay. I didn’t myself reach out to the board but my CC would like to know what’s going on. A training RIP and Assignment are two different things as well. Additionally, going past 60 days with no update can be a bit stressful for people with families who have to plan an entire PCS. I would say, at the very least send a message out to all those who are waiting to hear something of what could be a hold up and etc… this would curb the anxiety and impatience that some people may have. Lastly, there are people in career fields who have to continually progress and in order for those people to progress they need to go through upgrades and etc… It would be a bit stressful for someone to start an upgrade and maybe take a spot from someone else only to receive an assignment half way through an upgrade and have to stop to get ready for a PCS. I hope that makes sense. No shade, but I think in this scenario, at least an updated expectation email or notification can be sent out instead of radio silence. I had a buddy selected last year and said it was the same thing and he didn’t get any info for two months until he reached out to ask for an update.- Gun Talk
Elections have consequences and now that Virginia had gone back blue they are going full RETARD. A new house bill (HB-217), epically intrudes on the 2nd amendment be taking away your right to own a firearm for three years for a MISDEMEANOR...I say again, you can lose your right to own a gun if convicted of jaywalking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtEcMBn2Gyc- College Football
That is exactly what my son said last night. He can't go, his college starts classes on the 19th, but he thinks I should go. Sort of, you forget I was on the field for two (87/89), and at the Rose Bowl in Jan 2002 when we crushed Nebraska.- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Gonna keep it real guys, unless you need to get exempted from the VML (which can probably be done through your current AFSC OAT), your career field wants you to PCS/A, or have a family emergency, it's probably not appropriate to email the UFT board. I get being frustrated about the 30-60 day window for RIPs closing but their email is explicit in that they ask if you do not get assignment info by 1 Mar 26 to then contact the org box. Asking for an update because we're at 60+ days is jumping the gun. The shutdown definitely didn't help organizing training dates for us and the other >930 rated accessions. Not saying it's morally right or fair, but honestly, part of the job is giving up some capacity to plan for the future to AFPC. I've never met a retiree who said they had perfect communication and heads-up for every transition in their career.- College Football
Concur. This is a once in a decade or multiple decade opportunity. If they win and you don't go you'll regret it forever.- College Football
You can afford it. Enjoy the game!- College Football
Miami started strong but Ole Miss made some great adjustments and it turned into an epic battle. I was really torn because...F@ck Lane Kiffin. Was great to see Beck get some redemption with the run in touchdown. Tonight will be interesting, Indiana is a freaking machine but Oregon played them tough the first game. Planning on going to Miami for the Championship but tickets are outrageous. - College Football
