  2. Seriously. Can't believe Maduro thought he'd make it out unscathed.

  5. Focused on 3 things for the letters: Leadership, adaptability, and potential. In your personal letter, I’d recommend trying to write about a time you overcame a hardship (against all odds, how did you overcome your challenge?) In the LOR, ENSURE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS YOU WELL writes it (or signs off on it). This will typically be your sq cc. Several people have had people with stars give them an LOR, but its clear that it is a very generic LOR and they still dont get selected. Your recommender should be able to speak to your abilities and what youve accomplished. The board (for all prev boards) has used this grading scale: Leadership 40% (your ROP and letters) Adaptability/potential 30% (LOR and personal) Aptitute/education 30% (all your scores)
  6. What a dumbass - how could he possibly think he wouldn’t get caught.
  7. Aside from the obvious OPSEC issues, I'd be more concerned if he bet on a loss...that he was that confident, I'm impressed.

  9. US special forces soldier arrested after allegedly winning $400,000 on Maduro raid Polymarket wager placed immediately before the capture operation. Genius
  10. Hey now, easy with the stray rounds!
  11. i love this because you can tell some fox news boomer printed this out from a 5x-forwarded email to his @aol.com address, folded it up, and kept it in his pocket to try to impress his applebee's waitress before tipping 8% 😂
  12. Edit: they all interviewed at least once before as far as I know.
  13. Appreciate it. Basic and tech school were both pretty much what I expected. Getting approved to fly while at tech school and follow-on resulted in some funny interactions though. I do, previous new hires are a mix of RJ pilots/CFI’s, and non-pilot internal personnel. The aviation background people are typically off the street, but know people in the unit. As far as I know, the two hired this cycle were a sort of local CFI, and a guy from the engine shop.
  14. Not much of value to add, just kudos for going through the process to becoming a crew chief. Going from Legacy FO to Basic Training / Tech School / etc must have been an experience...... Curious if you have any insight into previous new hires at your unit? How many times they interviewed, if they were internal or off the street, etc. For that matter, any insight into who they hired this round?
  15. Great inspiration for those without a PPL. Every year, most selects don't have it. Would you mind sharing the themes of your LOR and personnal letter? What did you choose to focus on for the board to see?

Man, they didn’t even have the decency to blur out the face of the goat! We need a goat rape victim advocacy group to protect the rights of goats!
  17. Appreciate this! Best of luck to you with training.
  18. I don't think there's a published document that includes the alternates. Reading through the FY26 forums, seems like quite a bit of alternates were selected

  20. Oh, I read CNO instead of SECNAV. Oops. Care to address the actual point? We replace military leaders regularly during wars. Usually because existing leadership tends to fight the last war and not the present war. It makes sense that you'd uncover misaligned leadership when it actually counts, rather than when everything is calm and boring. You're just hyperventilating at this point.
  21. He's not a flag officer... Holy shit
  22. Fair. It was more to tie in with we'll get another announcement at the end of the week this admin can insiders trade on to keep fucking over everyone else. Regards = retards in r/wallstreetbets parlance.
  23. I actually kinda hate the TACO line of criticism against Trump. Yeah he backed off his red lines and stupid ultimatums, but he did so in the direction of de-escalation. If you don’t like this war, this news was objectively a good thing. It’s like making fun of your friend for “chickening out” of robbing a bank. No, just be happy your friend isn’t doing something stupid. Now granted, we never needed to be in this situation or issue stupid threats and ultimatums in the first place. But I will give credit where it is due and in an absolutely wacky turn of events I’m now in here saying good job to Trump for being the only person involved in this thing who seems even slightly interested in deescalation. We’ll see how long this ends up lasting.. for all I know our foreign policy messaging could have done a 180 just in the time it took me to type this comment. I hope Trump can withstand the external pressure because you can bet Netanyahu and the Mark Levins and Ben Shapiros and Adelsons of the world are working overtime right now to get the war turned back on. Just one more month of bombing guys that’ll get rid of the IRGC 👌👌
  24. It's obvious that the person is important. What's not obvious is that what you are suggesting is true. That removing or replacing that person is some sort of catastrophe to the goal at hand. I suspect replacing McClellan, Burnside, and Hooker had consequences, but I don't think anybody suggests that they should have been kept in place just because the civil war had not yet ended. And if that's what it took to get to Grant, so be it. In fact replacing military leaders in the middle of an ongoing war has happened in every major conflict that I could find. And in this case, the flag officer we are discussing is not even responsible for the current hostilities. He's in a primarily administrative role, exactly as you described.
  25. If an enemy is really adamant that something needs to stop, that is probably the thing that needs to keep happening.
  26. I don’t know your wing, so I’ll just have to take their words at face value. That’s a dumb way to operate in my opinion, but doesn’t mean it’s not a thing.
  27. What’s said in public is sometimes different than in private. Yes, the blockade should remain.
  28. i know you're being intentionally obtuse since your not your guy is continuing to knock it out of the park, but: surely none of those are important in an active conflict 🤷‍♂️
