I hope the tradition of GBU-12's for air to air kills continued!

They may graduate to shooting missiles at manned aircraft someday ....

So this should count less than manned aircraft, but less than a WSEP drone - Right?

Well if a robot = an A/A kill, then I know multiple, unrecognized aces.

Loss of Clock/Loss of Data doesn't count.

In WWII the RAF did not consider shooting down the V-1s as typical aerial kills.  Instead, they had their own separate list of victories, and even had "V1 Aces".

WW1, balloons counted

Last 4th of July I tried to shoot some helium balloons out of the neighbor's yard with my pellet gun. That shit ain't easy! On the other hand, I brought down my father-in-law's drone just by spilling beer on him.

They were manned

And each was surrounded by a metric sh1t-ton of archie (AAA to you newbies) which is why Frank Luke was celebrated as a mad hero.  Being so flammable and a static target, the Jerries (and Allies) put a ring of lead around each one.  Brits never did issue parachutes for their balloonists (something about bonus' and being team players...).

USAAF also categorized V-1 kills separately.

Whose informing the Albino and Raptor pilots?  Hopefully not the Turkish Viper pilot who splashed the SU-24!

All kidding aside, a long way to go for anyone to top 100+ kills to zip.
