Has very little to do with in rubbing it in their faces, and much more to do with the fact that the IDF knows Hamas will make outlandish claims that innocents, particularly children, were purposely and cruely attacked. Outlandish claims that many will rush to believe, usually because of the humanistic tendency to have sympathy for the underdog. Israel is just beating them to the punch in the media / PR campaign.
