April 25, 20205 yr Watched "Legend" on Netflix. Semi-true story of the gangster (Brit mafia-types) Kray brothers in 1960s London. Think "Mad Men" with a lot of the ol' "ultra-violence" added. Pretty well done, I thought.
May 16, 20205 yr I thought “Extraction” on Netflix was a decent action flick to drink beer and watch. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
May 18, 20205 yr Not a movie, but “The Last Dance” documentary about Michael Jordan and the 90’s Bulls was great.

September 13, 20205 yr Another “not a movie” and a bit dated but I just started Cobra Kai on Netflix and it’s excellent. Custom designed for men of a certain age. There’s even a hilarious Iron Eagle reference early in season one. Definitely worth a watch if you haven’t discovered it yet.
October 5, 20205 yr "The Outpost" is now on Netflix. Based on the Battle of Kamdesh that resulted in 2 living MOH recipients.. Highly recommend it. The Outpost on Netflix
October 15, 20205 yr Not "latest movie" but definitely a greatest: Just made my flight watch 12 O'clock High as a part of mandatory fun before graduation at OTS and they really enjoyed it. Had to keep the tradition going. Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me, til I come marching home!

I am happy to see it still has a place in the curriculum, though.
October 15, 20205 yr they didn't show it to us officially which is sad - in fact - we got guidance from multiple instructors that we weren't aloud to watch any movies at all when we asked to show it. I just put it up on my computer in the flight room when they were gone. 🤙 We had so much freaking down time here. Edited October 15, 20205 yr by mightymighty

November 1, 20205 yr So I put this here vs starting another thread that likely wouldn't be that long. Sean Connery died today, aged 90. The best James Bond ever. So suck it, Trebek! Edited November 1, 20205 yr by brickhistory
November 8, 20205 yr And now Trebek has died but it was pretty much a foregone conclusion considering he was 80 and had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
November 10, 20205 yr I didn't see any feedback on "We Go in at Dawn". Did anybody see that? Thoughts? Comments? Is it worth watching? Sorry if posted and I missed it.

Not that I go by ratings, but IMDB only gives it 3/10 stars out of 138 reviews... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7622584/ Amazon reviews are 3.5 out of 5, with 130 reviews. https://www.amazon.com/We-Go-Dawn-Samantha-Coughlan/dp/B086H76VXT From the trailer it looks interesting, I have put it on my watch list!
November 12, 20205 yr Not a movie, but good quarantine streaming if you want funny and feel good: Ted Lasso on Apple TV
November 14, 20205 yr Speaking of good sci-fi... Reading the book for the first time now & finding it very well written and deep. Looking forward to Denis Villeneuve’s (Sicario, Blade Runner 2049) film adaptation.
November 14, 20205 yr Dude. That looks good. Out of curiosity what other sci-fi do you like? Books or film.

Books are excellent, and while the series takes some liberties, I think they did a good job overall. Definitely better since Netflix took over. Also been enjoying Mandalorian with the kiddos.
