August 6Aug 6 Would be awesome if the government's response is basically, "yeah, that makes sense, we agree".Break break:That firearm for the Inn-n-out shooting is interesting. Anyone have a silencer on their EDC? I guess it wouldn't be too big of a deal for an off-body carry or truck gun. Also, depending on the round and the silencer, it might give the good guy a few extra chances of hitting his target before the active shooter realizes he's being engaged and from where, especially since his ears are likely ringing from the first few shots.

That being said, I would never ever do it. You don't want to be in front of a jury having used a gun that is anything but a normal, boring gun. No punisher decals, no quippy phrases, and no "scary" accessories.

One thing I've noticed is governments HATE to give up power no matter who's in charge. Prosecutors like to keep statutes like these on the books to hold over certain defendants to coerce please deals. Edited August 6Aug 6 by fire4effect

It is a HOT round, I think the threshold says it is good to penetrate NIJ Level II and Level IIIA. I love it, compact and light. Made by a local guy (https://spartacmfgn.com/), who has a contract and is making a bunch for the Secret Service. He told me for the same weight of 1000 X 5.56 you get 1400+ rounds of 5.7MM.The interesting thing t me about the event was the length of that pistol...seems tough to carry concealed?

Looks like he's wearing a vest in the video, so that would make it easier.

I loved the pr-57 from Kel-Tec, and they have another cool gun that uses p90 mags. The round is finally catching on and unlike so many others, it offers something unique ballistically to add to the collection

16 hours ago16 hr The decision does not apply to everyone nationwide for the time being. It applies to the specific plaintiffs in the consolidated cases Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF and Jensen v. ATF, along with certain affiliated entities. From the Silencer Shop Foundation case:Silencer Shop FoundationGun Owners of America (GOA)Gun Owners FoundationPalmetto State ArmorySilencerCo Weapons ResearchB&T USAFirearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition (FRAC)From the Jensen case:Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA)Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA)FPC Action FoundationHot Shots Custom, LLCThe injunction also includes these plaintiff states:AlaskaGeorgiaIdahoIndianaKansasLouisianaMontanaNorth DakotaOklahomaSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTexas (God bless!!)UtahWest VirginiaWyomingThe ruling concerns NFA registration and approval requirements for:Suppressors (silencers)Short-barreled rifles (SBRs)Short-barreled shotguns (SBSs)"Any Other Weapons" (AOWs) in certain portions of the case.It does not eliminate NFA regulation of machine guns or destructive devices. However, the sources I found do not say that every person residing in those states are automatically covered simply because they live there! One legal analysis specifically notes that coverage depends on whether a person falls within a protected category under the injunction, such as a member, customer, agency, or other covered party. In short, the organizations directly affected are current and future members and customers of GOA, Gun Owners Foundation, TSRA, FPC Action Foundation, CCRKBA, Silencer Shop Foundation, Palmetto State Armory, SilencerCo, B&T USA, FRAC, and Hot Shots Custom, plus their members and customers as specified by the injunction.

A good step in the right direction.

And as everybody knows, our taxes are done through the incredibly fuzzy process of reconciliation. Unless something is done to modify or repeal the NFA, Democrats will only need to reinstate a $1 tax on short barreled rifles and suppressors to put them right back under the NFA. Now, 2 years of unrestricted sales of these firearms would do a lot to make it less likely to change back, but the ruling is only useful if it is one step in a continuing process of deregulation.

Hopefully ATF will issue rules that say they're no longer bothering to enforce the NFA for suppressors and SBRs at least at the federal level. Crazy times.
