  1. anyone still waiting on the scroll? There have been 3 that I know of since May but mine still has not gone...my ISR said he put me on some special VSP scroll that was supposed to be done in september but apparently still hasnt.
  2. My ISR said she could call AFRC and have them move my scroll date back from the day she input it. Maybe my ISR just has connections or maybe they all know this but the point is...it's possible
  3. Palace front here....my biggest issue is getting scrolled. I was added to the scroll list in may and the ISR at my last base (on terminal now) still is saying he doesn't know if my scroll will happen by my 29 sep DOS and says it might be Oct or Nov.....yet other guys I know are added after and already scrolled.....
  4. http://access.afpc.af.mil/vbinDMZ/broker.exe?_program=DEMOGPUB.static_reports.sas&_service=pZ1pub1&_debug=0 Scroll to the bottom to the [RETENTION] section and select MDSACPSUMMARY. It seems that only Hueys and F-35s are happy pilots these days and have a take rate that exceeds the non-take rate. Everyone else is hovering around a 20-30% take rate. And the FY15 numbers aren't better.
  5. Careful. That email says voluntary separation approved not voluntary separation PAY approved. My email specifically said voluntary separation pay approved. Looks like the ADSC waiver approval program instead. I do like how they have added the remarks regarding the SCROLL process. I'm finding this out the hard way and will most likely have a break in service (from AD to Reserves) as a result. For anyone interested in palace chasing or fronting to the Reserves talk to your in-service recruiter now to get the ball rolling. The Scroll process is currently bottlenecked at the approval authority taking several months.
  6. He means don't expect a pilot from the squadron to just happen across your post and get in touch with you like they're customer service reps. Sure it might work, but sometimes It's all about perception. Instead go the extra mile it takes to track down the contact number for the pilot section. http://www.airnav.com/airport/KACY One trick: Go to airnav, look up the airport/facility of said guard unit, and scroll down to additional remarks, and usually the base-ops number is listed. Go from there. Step One: airnav Step two: ? Step Three: Profit!
  7. It was something my ISR had me sign. 5k upon entering and 2.5k at 1st and 2nd anniversary, for 11 and 12 career fields only. This obligates you to a three year commit. He said they may change it before I enter the reserves officially in May, but I should be grandfathered in. Also, I signed up for the 3:1 PC, but since I did it in Dec 13 (FY14), and there's now a 1:1 pgm, I'll qualify for the 1:1. You may need to ask about this bonus, since he said not everyone knows about it, especially different units. One more thing. I'm scheduled to pin on Maj in April and leave in May. When ISR put me in the scroll in December (you need to press your ISR to do this as transferring to the reserves w/o a break in svc depends on it and normal process takes about 4 mos--don't need to be pc approved to do this, do it as soon as u submit ur app) they entered me as a Capt. This is a prob cuz if u get entered as a Capt, you'll be a Capt to start, even if the position authorizes a Major, according to ISR. BL, if ur expecting to make rank make sure to tell ur ISR, as there are a certain number of rank slots per time period and it may affect ur transition; can be a pain to change.
  8. Have a job waiting and just focusing on out processing/moving/coording w unit in the next 90 days. My ISR has been difficult to deal with, so getting him to finish the 1288, scroll, etc. (supposedly i got put in the scroll mid-December). Thanks for all the info btw. My home of record is only 7 hrs from current location so trying to see if my unit will pay for all/remainder of the move. Since Im part of a detachment, it's prolly going to be a pain to out process. Also, supposed to pin on early apr and out in mid may so making sure rank transfers?
  9. New wrinkle on the mobile website. FYI using an iPhone 5s with iOS 7.04 and the Chrome mobile app version 31.1650.81. Every website, including BO.net until this evening, lets you scroll to the top of the screen when you tap at the top. Great for reading threads with lots of posts. Suddenly not working. The function works for other websites just like always...figure something changed with all the recent site changes. Just a heads up. Cheers
  10. This site has a ton of great 1950s and 1960s pictures from the golden age of the USAF. http://jetpilotoverseas.wordpress.com/ Be sure to scroll to the bottom and browse the categories.
  11. Scroll up. The site navigation buttons appear.
  12. I just tried it out on my iPhone and Sir Mix-A-Lot would be very happy with the amount of back that I had on my screen. Is yours loading the BODN mobile site, or the full site? Mine goes to the mobile site and the back button is not immediately visible. As soon as I scroll up, though, there is a back button that appears at the top of the web page as well as the safari back button at the bottom. Are you not getting either one?
  13. So I was bored on AF Portal waiting for them to post the Oct 13 increments when I decided to scroll down and read the comments. Then I saw this gem: "You can view officer manning by grade (authorized and assigned) and then break out manning by AFSC on this site: https://www.thrmistest.hq.af.mil/scripts/thrmis_report_loader.asp?ReportID=826" "Mr. McCarthy, Thank you for posting that link. Can you explain it a little bit? It looks like the AF is about ~1300 Majors under authorized end strength for FY14. Am I reading that correctly?" I'm assuming you need a CAC to access the report, but maybe not. The kicker is this: if the AF is under authorized end strength by ~1300 Majors, and there are still 1220 Capts that need to pin on just from LAF, what are the chances the remaining will pin on in Oct after a new FY has started? Or will it just be 113 again like every month since forever? It'll prolly be the latter, but still-what the eff is going on?
  14. Google image search the following phrase: tea party flags Tell me what 50-75% of the images come up as as you scroll down. Or better yet, go online shopping for Tea Party flags. http://www.gettysburgflag.com/TEA-Party.php http://www.sevenbros.com/index.php?cPath=95_313 http://www.flagsimporter.com/american/index.php/cName/tea-party-flags I know it's wiki- but still. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_flag#Tea_Party_Movement_symbol
  15. ha, yeah, I was scrolling and hit like by accident instead of the scroll bar. Was hoping nobody noticed before it refreshed, but alas.
  16. Who the fuck cares about all this???? I mean do any of you really really care about any of this noise??? So what if a shoe made an AFI. So what if another shoe made a website. I ain't gonna waste my time on it. So to the thead starter (I don't care to scroll to find your name), go troll elsewhere. I don't care about diversity. I care about getting the job done with the most capable people and that is how I go about my job. Out
  17. Recommend scroll bar ops check.
  18. http://www.stripes.com/news/former-ig-gets-1-year-sentence-dismissal-for-sexual-assault-1.195865 I don't usually put a lot of weight behind what I read from people commenting on articles & videos on the internet, but scroll to the bottom and it appears there are a lot of people who think the guy got thrown under the bus in order to make an example of him, despite the lack of evidence.
  19. Scrolling is when the SECAF (I believe) signs the letter (scroll) that allows the Reserve unit to officially gain you. The way I understood it, no scroll, then you haven't been gained...no gain, no separation. Cheers, Cap-10
  20. HU&W

    Gun Talk

I don't think it is fear mongering if the info is correct. Here's a more legitimate source than reddit. Scroll to the bottom and you'll see the same list straight from the senator's mouth.
  21. End of FY12 report is up, go to the below webpage and scroll to the bottom. http://access.afpc.af.mil/vbinDMZ/broker.exe?_program=DEMOGPUB.static_reports.sas&_service=pZ1pub1&_debug=0
  22. interesting read. A couple queep points [nerdy safety hat]...the SIO went to the trouble of having his final message be in Tab T format, but he still screwed it up. Three things listed in the factors section were concluded to not be factors, so they should have been down in the NFWODs section (since they were worthy of him discussing in multiple paragraphs). And I know Findings and Recommendations are not required for Class E mishaps, but seriously, if you go to that much effort to write your analysis and then not have any recommendations, that's a bit absurd. I can think of at least two recommendations I would make for this event (and having to scroll back up to the narrative to figure out where the causal findings were was annoying). [/nerdy safety hat] I still want to know how the conversation went with the O-10 once they told him they had not, in fact, landed at MacDill.
  23. Oh ok, I guess your browser is broken or something and won't let you scroll up...
  24. When we teach recoveries at the FTU we make the UP/UW's scroll off of the ADI, which forces them to HOTAS to it as part of their Recognize, Confirm Steps. Piston was a student of a mine....him, him!!! Cheers, Cap-10
