Traditionally, yes. The HPO process was formalized by being a “school select” at the 04 board. However, now that they haven’t designated school selects on two 04 boards in a row, it’s more of less open game. Those who would’ve been selects will probably still go and become a HPO and those who still want to play the game have a better chance/ more time.

People always bring up the Nordic countries as an example of socialist success. First, those countries are sparcely populated and highly homogeneous that share similar ideology..stark difference from here in America. Second, their economies are actually starting to suffer because wealth creation and free enterprise is suppressed. There is a lot of displeasure with their government and that is starting to take a toll. Finally, who would want to pay a 50%+ tax rate!? I will agree with you that no country is truly capitalist or socialist but rather a mix of ideologies on a scale.

Bernie was on welfare in his early adult years, then somehow became a politician and is now a millionaire. No one becomes rich in politics unless you are a corrupt crook. I’d pay money to see him run again, watching him get evicerated will be entertaining.

This is important! While Welsh bears some of the burden of the issues we face, let’s remember the regieme in charge at the top at the time (not necessarily the most military friendly.) Not to mention sequestration, a recovering economy..all that matters.

Correct, there are many drivers of healthcare cost. Another side to this argument is that the people screeching for universal healthcare are the same people advocating for open borders and paying for undocumented individuals. How the hell do we pay for that?! The best answer to healthcare would be to foster competition and innovation in the private market and have a small safety net for those who really need it.

As was mentioned before, homogenous means people think alike and thus it is easier to come to consensus and pass common laws. If you’ve ever been to Japan you know what I’m talking about. The Japanese are wonderful people, but most of them are not just ethnically homogenous but culturally as well. Most act, think and even speak alike. Also consider this, in Japan - it is considered a grave family sin to be a dead beat in society. You won’t see many homeless people. They are all ingrained with a common sense of work ethic and crime is pretty much non existent. Thus, things like socialized medicine and even strict gun laws work there - the same can’t be said about the US.
