The C-130J has a 1980s com/nav suite, datalink (Block 6) that’s utter thrash and TOLD that’s not even accurate…but sure let’s jump straight to single pilot operations. Me thinks the speed of staff / acquisitions makes this a long ways off regardless of whether or not the technology is there. The C-130 doesn’t just fly straight and level at FL390, low levels, formation, assault, NVG ops, a lot going on to simply automate.

C-130J: “Deployments” are 6 months on 18 months off…with opportunities to switch out at the 3 month point. Quotations as CENTCOM deployments are significantly more chill with the drawdown. Only stateside units deploy, expect a 3-4 day TDY per month besides that. Not bad at all. Overseas units don’t deploy but are TDY much more often. PM me with questions.

Might be a stretch, but I’m wondering if this might be a second hand effect of the George Floyd riots, defund the police etc. Could be..it’s tough to find quality recruits, who would want to be a cop in the current environment? It could be that Uvalde is mostly a minority town and the cops are more afraid of an incident landing them on national news (no excuse not to go defend children). This is what happens when we have built a generation of cowards and sissies. God help us if we ever actually go to war, and not the BS kind we had in Afghanistan.

And it was an “officer”, likely the LRS/CC that condoned this. Shoes get away with this crap because fellow officers don’t have a backbone to put the mission first and not engage in dog and pony shows…much like all the deployed Wing Kings that let their Chiefs and Diamonds run wild.

No it doesn’t, people get upset when you point out the obvious that the handlers behind the scenes are really running the country. As for the train wreck and lack of competence, it seems lately that more on the left are more concerned with optics (intersectionality, social justice and identity politics) than anything…so much so that competence and meritocracy be damned. How do CNN, MSNBC etc portray these two? Do they hide the gaffes and missteps (yes). That’s all that matters.

This is what I was alluding to. The short attention span’s interest of the American public is fading away with regards to Ukraine…in need for another distraction prior to the election (not that Ukraine was intentional, just happenstance).

This concept has got me thinking lately, what is the end game? Can they ever be happy or content? Does the woke movement have an end state or is it a cultural phenomenon with no end? For instance, our Chief of Staff is Black, two major combatant commanders are about to be led by African Americans, not to mention our SECDEF; yet I still constantly hear about African Americans being under represented at higher levels of government because..racism. Do these folks literally need some crusade to fight, Trump, Racism, homophobia…and without it they are incomplete?

In other news, Biden embarrassed himself on the international stage, can’t decipher the difference between Switzerland and Sweden, and uses an international forum for defense to talk about his opinion on Roe v Wade, to an audience that generally has stricter abortion bans than America.

Gotten much worse, just look at Chief Bass. Still till this day, I don’t really understand what Chiefs do besides admin queep the commander doesn’t want to do. It’s especially worse on a staff. I know this thread is about shoe clerks but unfortunately many of the Chiefs I’ve met are perpetrators of that mentality.

Pure democracy and popularity is irrelevant here. The Supreme Court is not a representative body - their job is to interpret the law vis a vis the constitution. There is no constitutional mandate for abortion, therefore 10th amendment applies and this goes back to the states. That is ALL that happened here but “the sky isn’t falling” doesn’t bode well for the mainstream media and the left who consumes the narrative…they must always be outraged by something, especially now that the lack of Trump has left a void in their lives, not to mention convenient distraction from the current administration. Now will some states attempt to take more strict measures? Possibly, but like you said the popularity simply isn’t there to go pure fundamental when it comes to abortion.
