Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Never said he insulted me. I've just sat through enough all calls with NAF or MAJCOM commanders who harp on patriotism to automatically roll my eyes when someone implies money is shallow or meaningless. That is what I find insulting. That being said, if you enjoy your place in the air force, I'm glad you're happy. Continue to do what works for you.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Money may not buy happiness, but financial security is a real thing. Being able to send your kids to any college they get into is a real change in your quality of life. Knowing that your wife won't be impoverished if you don't make 20 years and Lt Col is also a real difference in your life. The air force may not be able to compete dollar for dollar with a lot of jobs, but pretending any money above $100k salary and tricare is unnecessary is asinine and insulting.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
You regularly invert your sleep schedule within 14 hours of reporting to fly? Not sure how that doesn't increase risk.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Proof that to many of the Bobs ORM is just another way to spell CYA. Of course the only risk they buy is losing the next promotion.

The meaning of life and other ill sh!t
You're grasping at straws. There are logically consistent arguments for abortion but you choose not to use those. A zygote is a living organism with unique, human DNA.

The meaning of life and other ill sh!t
https://quillette.com/2019/10/16/i-asked-thousands-of-biologists-when-life-begins-the-answer-wasnt-popular/ "As the usable responses began to come in, I found that 5,337 biologists (96%) affirmed that a humanโs life begins at fertilization, with 240 (4%) rejecting that view. The majority of the sample identified as liberal (89%), pro-choice (85%) and non-religious (63%). In the case of Americans who expressed party preference, the majority identified as Democrats (92%)." https://www.princeton.edu/~prolife/articles/embryoquotes2.html "The following references illustrate the fact that a new human embryo, the starting point for a human life, comes into existence with the formation of the one-celled zygote"

If you don't keep up with the queep you run the risk of getting a worse assignment. You might be fine for three years but then you're primed for white jets or non-flying staff or whatever the current bad deal is.

COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
Too bad no one at the FDA has a grasp of statistics. Hopefully Lord Fauci can weigh in so I'll know what to think.

COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
Funny how if you criticize the policy on mask wear the response you receive is "Are you a doctor?!?" But criticizing the CDC and FDA on the pause in J&J vaccinations requires no such expertise.

Lufwaffe Elephant Walk...NOT
If that's how they do an elephant walk then they're doing it wrong too. Mx should be generating jets to the wartime config in a designated time period. Every jet that taxis down the runway should be ready to take off meeting the wartime MESL. An elephant walk should be indistinguishable from a combat generation until the moment the jets get to the runway.
-
Lufwaffe Elephant Walk...NOT
The jets have no munitions on them either ๐. This shows the opposite of what an elephant walk should show. I now doubt their combat readiness more than before I saw the pictures.

F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
The Europeans made a BFM jet John Boyd would be proud of (aside from that pesky canopy bow and the fact that it costs 10x what an F-16 did). It's a shame it took them 25 more years to do it. As mentioned, this is nothing new for them, considering the same group of countries joined the swing-wing fad 10 years after the F-111, MiG-23 and Su-24 were introduced. There's nothing like spending twice as much to buy a fighter designed for the last war. As for our Air Force, it seems like we don't know which war we plan to fight. If we need an FI gap-filler that is already in production and has lower lifecycle costs than the F-35, the F-16 seems like the obvious choice. If we just want a cruise missile platform then buy more F-15EXs. If we're going to be bombing what's left of Babylonia for the next 50 years then let's buy some AT-6s or AT-7s so that we can save a couple bucks on gas while we drop $69,000 bombs on used Toyota HiLuxs. No doubt we won't choose any of these options and instead will try to develop a fighter than can do everything better and cheaper. At least we'll see that fighter before the European 5.5 gen fighter makes its debut. ๐

Eglin F-35 crash
It's too bad so many recent aircraft have opted for det cord 6 inches from your cranium as a means of egress (T-6, F-35, T-7).

Eglin F-35 crash
Valid for pointing out the stupidity of not mounting a gunsight on a.... gun, but I'm pretty sure a no-hud ILS capability exists. I'd say root cause is touching down at > 200 knots. https://www.afjag.af.mil/Portals/77/AIB-Reports/2020/May/Eglin AFB F35A AIB Report_Signed.pdf "The AIB President found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the mishap was caused first, by the MA touching down at 202 KCAS, and second, by the MA flight control surfaces, namely the tail of the aircraft, conflicting with the MP inputs upon landing, resulting in the MPโs inability to recover from the aircraft oscillation."

F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
A couple years ago it was 3 of each. Rumor has it that may have been reduced since then.
