  1. You’ll have to contact the board directly and submit to the next AD board... you can reach out to the board and get the checklist from them. It took me a while to figure that out and it was really frustrating to have recruiters ignore me for being an Army Pilot. I was able to submit to the board back in 2018 but withdrew my application due to a job offer with a ANG unit. You’ll need a DD368 as well. Good luck. Cheers
  2. The average has been 18 to 24 months from hired to UPT for the longest I can remember. It sucks, but all you can do is be a good bro, learn about your unit and the mission and try to get an idea of what life will be like for seasoning. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  6. You’ll skip the ARB process, that might as well be blessing. If you have your PPL already, you’ll be able to skip IFT and jump straight into UPT. Im hearing 3-4 months for FC1s. The wait is longer during the summer months due to the rotc cadet rush. You could go to WP and your own dime and time to speed up the process. I did it that way it it didn’t really help me much. Best to coordinate that with the hiring unit. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  7. Your HARM can call A3 at NGB to get a feel if you’ll have to wait until FY21 or if A3 is still hoping to get a couple more slots here and there Before the year is over. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  8. False... but it was a big cut. ANG had allocated funds for 150 slots. 19th AF (big blue) only approved about 90. Maintenance all across UPT bases was the main reason. Excess in students = un attainable maintenance cycles. Also AD and AFRC saw a decrease in pilot slots for FY20. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  9. Don’t call. Wait until the interview. A face to face explanation will probably go father than a phone call. Easier said than done, but if a waiver of any sort is required, get familiar with the regulation if able. It will be easier to discuss if you know what needs to happen and have a plan to move forward with the hiring process. Since the incident is legal related, I think the only person that might look into it will be the security clearance rep at the unit. Good luck man! 11. Your HARM rep at your unit should be able to reach out to the NGB A3 chief undergraduate flying training rep for an outlook for potential dates. Worst case, you’ll have to wait until the next FY dates. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  15. Would the 10 yr UPT service commitment to the ANG prevent a move to AD? I’m sure the grass is not greener on AD... but it’s always good to know about other options out there. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  16. Your in a good spot with age. Get your PPL and keep casting a net. I’m not AD but have plenty of bros that compare AD to a jail sentence counting down the days until their ADSC runs out. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  17. There are plenty of opportunities in both ANG/reserves for you to fly full time. Can’t speak for the fighter side, but in my guard tanker unit, traditional dudes are guaranteed 200 to 220 days of orders a year. You also Have drills, AFTPs, TDYs across the pond that allows bums to push the “BUMing” to the limit. You can also apply for full time Tech Positions or AGR slots if available. I’m not sure what opportunities are out there for rated ANG/reserve guys to go AD. I am sure there are out there. But why go AD if you can try to be a full time BUM if the opportunity presents itself. Are you in age waiver territory? If you are, you might want to clarify with the reserves recruiter on going unsponsored. From what I understand, if you need an age waiver (33 is the current limit) you can submit to the board but nothing will happen until you can secure sponsorship from a unit. You can’t even go to WP and get an FC1 until unit sponsorship. Do you have your PPL or any rated time? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  19. It’s happened before and it’s not an unusual path. It allows the unit to request dates for OTS a bit quicker. Even as a “no job” SrA, your job should be to get acclimated to the unit. try to get to know everyone. From pilots, to shops, crew dawgs... all of it. Enlisted folks love their job and most of them would love to show you around, what they do and what not. It certainly sucks to show up to a UTA and have no job and or purpose. At the same time, embrace the opportunity you’ll have to learn about other stuff within the wing outside from being a pilot. Hope that helps. 20. Im sure there have been exceptions in the past; from what I understand, a unit must gain you first. Once your in the books, a school request is submitted to higher. submittal request goes to A3 at NGB. Not sure how it works for reserves. If your just wanting on dates you must be in the queue somewhere. Unit priority, short falls, and 19 AF availability could be the hold up. I know it sucks not having dates... but relax, enjoy your time now because once you begin, it will be fire hose type learning equating to a very long year. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  21. Unfortunately. Stay motivated. I went to WP on my own dime to get an FC1 thinking I would be able to shorten up the timeline. But didn't help much. Get Hired. Get gained by the unit. Get UPT dates. Usually about 18 to 24 months in average.
  22. NGB had allocated thru budgeting/finance about 125-155 UPT slots FY20. The number was cut to 90 by the 19th AF (big blue). The numbers were cut across the board for AD, AFRC and ANG.
  23. Were you a flier or rated guy in the navy? A- get hired by unit, have a valid DD368 B- hope you have a shit hot recruiter that can get you gain in a reasonable amount of time. C- slots were cut for FY20. If your lucky after accomplishing A & B, (in 4-6 months maybe) tag another 6 months until you can get dates. If luck is really on your side, your actual arrival at UPT dates will not be far from notification of school dates. hope that helps. Cheers
  24. https://thefederalist.com/2019/10/23/why-retired-military-officers-need-to-shut-up-about-politics/?fbclid=IwAR2W14sK-4DU-9aScaoUsH8YvNTYoWS2iIRBLNfu7azrE9TKYfzgJoKNFRU The armed forces should remain APOLITICAL and the most trusted government institution by the public. Sadly, the ole army colonel who is now a hero for the left, is doing the opposite. Either declare a candidacy and run for office, or retire... once he is all used up by the left, I am sure he will get a book deal on how wearing the uniform gave him some high moral ground on public policy. Stop the politicization of the military! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
