  1. Disclaimer: State of confusion will vary greatly between, well, states. Have I ever found that out let me tell ya.
  2. No need to talk to any more recruiters if you have your tests hammered out. And ask your LORs for generic letters that you can add different details to for each specific unit you apply to.
  3. Robinhood only allowing you to sell currently. Talk about rigging the system and stopping the short squeeze.
  4. Some dude has been holding calls on GME since 2019. The dude made over $25M in a day....unrealized of course. But still.
  5. IFT is usually after OTS I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'd want to get any extra training out of the pipeline if you can help it with how availability and lead time is these days. Plus, with how long it takes to get to training these days anyway, you'll likely want to fly in your spare time anyway so why not get it? Unless you plan on not flying at all for 2 years before you get to UPT. I know I'd wanna fly and keep building confidence and skills before I strap into a T-6. If you can't find a DPE near you, travel to one. I had to drive a few hours to my DPE. I'd get the PPL done, but that's just me. You can accept the spot and still get the PPL done. You're not locked into IFT the moment you accept the slot. There's lots to accomplish before you apply for training and you should have plenty of time to get your PPL before that.
  6. What's this deal about the oval office being a fake/set I just heard about? Can't find anything online about it except one weird reddit post. Which was debunked to show that whatever picture they had up was a german TV show set for election coverage this past year.

I tried one of those speed loaders and that even sucks. My dad has a Beretta 92 and it loads those fantastic. These however jam up after 5 rds go in. Just will have to deal with my thumbs hurting after a few reloads at the range. Ive only put a few rounds through it but I love it. Its so small too, which is great for me since I'm not a big guy. Makes carrying and not worrying about a print that much better. T-shirts would be a stretch, but sweaters and thick clothes are perfect with the size of this gun.
  8. Surgeon general. They send your MEPS physical or some other package up to the SG for approval, then you can apply for FC1 dates. It usually takes a couple weeks. Just depends on how often your states SG reviews those things.

Ha, cool. Are the mags any easier to reload yet? I can release it with my finger occasionally. Well, with my thumb, but normally I have to pull back on the slide a little to release.

I know. I was speaking to his term. All we can do is wait and see what follows. But that discussion is for a different thread. Also managed to snag a case of 7.62x39 for a relatively decent price considering the current climate. All set on that stuff for now. The Zastava ZPAP M70 is a nice firearm.

Picked up the Sig P365 the other day. Loving the sights on it. Light up like LEDs at night. The mags suck balls to load though. Spring is really stiff. The follower sucks too, speed loaders even struggle. But, its pretty small for being a 10+1. I ordered a pinky extension for one of the mags since it didn't come with it. Definitely a must if you dont have the extended 12rd mag. Slide lock is a bit tough, but I'm hoping that goes away with use. Overall, solid purchase for a solid price too.

They're already pretty heavily regulated. I doubt they are going anywhere realistically. We shall see. And in no way defending anyone, just making a point, Trump signed more EOs in his first term, than either of the 3 past presidents in their first terms respectively. So, for now, Trump also handed them out like candy 😉

The way I see it, even if the wait time is 6-9 months, those 6-9 months are gonna go by anyway. You could either have a quiet tube at the end of that time span or not. The choice is yours.
  14. Yeah, way better than MEPS. Everyone at Wright Patt is there to help you succeed, not fail like at MEPS. Just be curteous and you'll receive the same back.

Oh I can imagine. Idk, could be complete shit, might not be. I didn't dig into it so who knows. The gun store employee seemed equally surprised. But with that said, this is probably one of the more legit gun stores around my area. The dudes are pretty knowledgeable on the stuff they sell. All's I know is not a lot.

I didnt buy myself, but I was picking up a P365 at the local shop the other day and a dude was doing his suppressor paperwork. The gun store employee said the last guy that was in a few weeks ago had a 18 day turn around time on all his paperwork. Obviously not the norm, but it was surprising.
  17. I went through in September, it wasn't too bad. Less technicians on site, so they couldn't do as many people at once on certain tests. Like for EKGs, they had one lady there doing them. Seemed fairly normal otherwise aside from having to wear masks everywhere. Critically inefficient.
  18. Make sure all your forms for the officer selection package are up to date, and filled out correctly. Make you recruiter double check them. And make sure you transcripts are addressed to your recruiter and not yourself.
  19. Just my $0.02, which dont mean jack, but I haven't heard of many fighter units entertaining age waivers. Even with 99s across the board. But please feel free to prove me and anyone else wrong. If you were already rated in a previous life, maybe. Not to poop on your dreams, but fighters likely aren't in the stars for you. Don't let that stop you from trying, but I also wouldn't get your hopes up. You might have better luck trying with a heavy unit. Guard and reserve units are seeing higher application response than ever before, and with the current hire to UPT timeline, you're looking at 2 years wait. That puts you at 40, and like it or not, thats a gamble for any unit. Not trying to be a dick, just giving you my opinion based on what I've seen on here. I'm sure there have been older dudes hired in the past, just gotta find the right unit.
  20. When I did my FC1, there was a Major there transitioning from C130 WSO to RPA pilot, and he was doing a IFCII if I recall. So, not a direct answer to your question, but situational evidence.
  21. I did my FC1 in September 2020. Once my unit submitted for the FC1, it only took about a week to get it scheduled, but it was a 3 month wait from scheduling to actual FC1.
  22. Yep, spot on from everyone. Just be respectful and listen to directions very carefully. Lots of kids didn't when I went. Its not a hard day. I was done by 10-11 when I went. I had a different colored folder because I was enlisting to commision, so I think I was treated as "commissioning" and not enlisting. Seemed to get me through things quicker. Also if you can, drive yourself there. You have to get on the bus when you get there because some guy has to give a speech about not being dumb and bringing knives and shit in. Overall, keep your mouth shut 90% of the time and just answer the questions they ask, dont elaborate on anything that's not necessary to.
  23. I think you need to be 33 by the time you enter UPT. It can take about 2 years from date of hire to entering UPT (trust me, it certainly isn't a quick process). So, you've got 3 years to get a degree, and preferably a PPL. It's not too late, but you need to bust your ass to get there, and get stellar scores on all of the tests. With the amount of applicants these days, age waivers may be less popular of an option if a unit doesn't have to deal with it, but if they like you enough, they'll consider it. In short, you've got time, but not an abundance. You're going to be 33 in 5 years anyway, so do you want to be 33 and say you gave it your all trying to get to the dream, or be 33 and say you never gave yourself a chance.
