  1. Awesome! Although I'm sure today, it would turned into you having tried to sexually assault some poor chick while on the way out of the chow hall. The next day, your name would be drug through the mud, your picture would grace the front page of the AF times calling for the court martial of this despicable officer.
  2. Ya it's back to standard price. Picked it up yesterday for free. A good read so far.
  3. Nah man, remember that C-130J hard landing in Afghanistan...

I had to send my XD45 compact back because of some major rusting on the slide (a known issue). Called them up, was asked a few questions and they e-mailed me a postage form (prepaid postage). Dropped the slide in a box, attached the form to the outside and had it in the mail an hour later. They refinished the slide and sent it back, with two new mags for my inconvenience. Their customer service was great!
  5. The fact that you were even watching it is WTF worthy.
  6. Nice, being a DSG is one of the best jobs imaginable. Not the first and you will not be the last to do this is the next few years!
  7. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/02/seattle-officials-call-for-ban-on-potentially-offensive-language/ So, the term citizen is now offensive? WTF!??!
  8. Copy all on the guaranteed interview. That reminds me, all the remaining Compass pilots (not part of the flow) have guaranteed interviews in seniority order. You are correct on them still needing to operate. They could hold a few back, but I don't see them doing that right away. They are planning on hiring ~180 pilots and upgrading ~130 to captain, by next summer. That's a lot of training but they also have a 5 month (minimum) head start. From what I have read, they have ~80 in a pool and are running a class a week starting in August. There are also provisions for street Captains if needed. I agree, it will be very interesting to see how they manage it...especially if they resort to street Captains.
  9. To help manage expectations, there are about 300 pilots at Compass airlines that have flow through rights with Delta. 25% of the seniority list (~450 pilots) can flow in a rolling year, so that means ~115 will flow over to Delta by next summer. Delta assumes the November classes will be filled by voluntary furlough returnees, and Compass pilots to flow in December. This doesn't even touch the Pinnacle/Mesaba flows.
  10. Yes...wait, no? Embrear 175/195ski. Sukhois shot at the MRJ market.

If they sell out, Vance's has it for $269 right now. http://www.vanceoutdoors.com/products2.cfm/ID/44732/name/ruger-lcp-380acp-centerfire-pistol
  12. Shitty internet, fucked up my edit. Are you talking Reserves or ANG? It seems like there are quite a few guys doing this. Helps that some of them are at squadrons with an alert mission. Some dudes volunteered at the Guard Bureau to make this happen. I'm fairly certain i'll never get a 20 yr AD retirement...just wondering.
  13. It's been a while ago, so it's a bit hazy. All I did was drop leave starting the day after my TDY, there was no amendment to my orders. When I got home I reported in and filled out my voucher noting I was on leave for the week following (so they didn't pay me per Diem). This was in the paper voucher/leave (988) days so I just put LV in the reason for stop block...not sure how to do it in DTS.
  14. How is that a good idea? I know if I got stuck in a position like that, I wouldn't have much motivation to work very hard. So yes, I may not "stop working," but it's 8 hour days, lots of time in the gym, long lunch, etc... I don't think I would want that kind of worker preparing the squadron/wing for the next ORI.
  15. Actually it could be dependapotamuses or dependapotami...either is correct.
  16. Assuming we buy how many? I'm sure the F-22 had a much smaller price tag when we were going to buy 800 of them....how'd that work out for us? How many 35s do you think we'll buy? I'd say we're lucky if we get 8-900. I'm not a hater of the 35, I'm just a bit skeptical of it's ability to show up on time and our ability to procure very many. I'm sure it has great technology but I'm not sure i would want to convert to it just yet. Not ready to spend more time in the sim and less time in the air. What's the fuel burn rate? Serious question.
  17. No clothing allowance for Officers in the Guard either (aside from a one time $400 for your mess dress). When we need new flight suits we just have Life Support order them. I have never been issued ABUs and don't own any. As far as I know, if we want a pair, we would just swing by supply and grab a pair. As eng said, no clothing sales on our base, the nearest one is 2-2.5 hours away...makes it a real pain when you lose your hat!
  18. Not flying like a jackass would have prevented this whole thing!
  19. Yup...wasn't a dig. Copy shot, poorly worded on the "for a fighter pilot" part. I never learnt to speak good!
  20. Company tries to fuck you in the ass. This petition is an attempt to force them to use lube. That's about as caveman as I can make it for a fighter pilot. The Dragging of the feet is by the company, not the pilots. So you are correect, it's not a good practice for the pilots but a great one for the company.

Tac, Glock already offers a damn good mil/LEO discount. See below. You can also get almost all of the Glocks for $399 (fixed sights...up to $460 with night sights) with their mil discount. There is no min number of purcheses to get the discount either. Go to the glock website, click on military, then find a dealer. Enter your zip and click on LE dealer. That will get you the LE dealer nearest you as not all dealers can offer the mil/LEO discount. Or you can order direct from Glock...wait time is ridiculous right now. I found this website on another forum. It has the pricing for Glocks/Sig/S&W. http://www.vancesle.com/category.cfm/le/firearms
