The USAF Safety Process
I'll pile on to say I also believe privilege has been compromised to the point that I will not participate in the AF safety process if involved in an incident. Nobody has mentioned the C-17 guy who's SIB was released to the special prosecutor during his court martial.

More SARC briefings soon.
If you see any FHP that is zero's out (like 0.0), it's guaranteed that shenanigans like that occurred. Fraud, waste and abuse complaint, ha. Our boss walked into our office (rattled) on Sep 30th of this year and said, "I need you to spend $11,000 in the next 4 hours." I can't make this shit up.

Aviano F-16 pilot KIA
JHMCS failed sled testing above 400 kts by putting lethal G forces on the neck.

Is the KC-10 going to be cut?
Hey man, numbered air forces are expensive to maintain.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
I would guess lots of f-16 guard opportunities.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Just look at ATP take rate per base. The Maxwell numbers skew the rest.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Hacker, great post. Completely agree.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
And of course, rather than being transparent about it, the air force leaves us to gossip and guess. I don't think the USAF cares about "flying related stuff" as long as the slides are green.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
I'm surprised there are still O-5s left to be F-16 squadron commanders with all of the recent firings.
-
What's wrong with the Air Force?
Maybe that statement is in response to drone pilots' horrific ATP take rates.

Cash and tobacco...
I thought eagle cash worked pretty well actually, and I'm generally a hater about that kind of stuff. I had 0 use for cash in Iraq.

Promotion and PRF Information
You have no credibility. Nobody is listening to you. You are just making it harder for people to find real gems of information in this thread. Also, nobody cares about your path to captain.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Last year was around 65%. The goal seems to be a closely guarded secret.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
I just don't buy it. They must still be processing apps.
-
Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Any word on how this is going? When I check, it still shows like a 45% take rate, and worse for fighters.

?s on ADSC (Active Duty Service Commitment)
Well, that's confusing. Those two statements seem contradictory.

?s on ADSC (Active Duty Service Commitment)
Here's the note: "b. All manned or unmanned pilots, navigators, and air battle managers who began aviation service after 30 September 1997 will not incur any additional Advanced Flying Training (AFT)/Instructor Qualification ADSCs which extend beyond 6 or 10 years as applicable, of continuous or cumulative rated service. Rated service begins at the completion of training and awarding of wings for the rated specialty. They will still incur Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Professional Military Education (PME), and other non-AFT related ADSCs." What is "AFT"? Is that IQT in a new airframe, like cross training from the F-16 to F-35? Edit: Found it. "Advanced Flying Training (AFT): courses in the following categories: - Initial qualification (any fixed, rotary wing aircraft, or unmanned aerial system) - Requalification (any fixed, rotary wing aircraft, or unmanned aerial system) - AETC Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) (NOTE: Pilots who cross-train without a break in flying between AETC non-Major Weapons System aircraft, after completing initial training do not incur any additional commitment.) - Test Pilot School (for Pilots, Navigators, and Engineers) - All Career Enlisted Aviators and Non-rated Enlisted Aircrew members attending Advanced Flying Training"

Promotion and PRF Information
Since we're only using 4 lines on an OPR anyway, why not reduce an OPR to 4 lines? No need to do a PRF at the 8 year point since your entire record would be 32 lines total. If this idea gets implemented, one of my lines would include "100,000 man hours saved."

Slick, I hope you get RIF'd.

Sounds like insubordination to me.

Promotion and PRF Information
Huh. I listened to the CSAF himself last week say that the fact that senior raters are considering masters degrees for the major's board is "insane." He went on to say that a masters degree should only be required for O-6.

In this thread... IFR in Pea Soup...
We were briefed earlier this year when it happened at Osan that the cost of these systems going off on accident and damaging jets has exceeded the cost of jets saved due to these systems. We had a couple of jets down for a few weeks - I can't remember what exactly was damaged by the foam.
