Academically, the Academy is outstanding? Outstanding at what? Preparing its students for what? Are Academy students doing groundbreaking research? Do they go on to develop new technologies at companies like Google/IBM/Microsoft? Do they go on to excel at Goldman Sachs at a higher rate than other colleges? Are they accepted into graduate schools at higher rates? What exactly does the Academy do academic wise that is so outstanding? The vast majority of its graduates go on to be officers in the military, in which all of that "outstanding" academic preparation is completely unused. Justify it if it makes you feel better, but the USAFA is not the nationally recognized institution that you cadets seem to think it is.

Um, actually, as your commander may have made you aware, I'm sure there were plenty of opportunities to take the leave on the weekends. Remember, if you have use/lose leave it's somehow your fault!

Really? Did our ejection procedures change when our ejection envelope was reduced from 600 to 450 kts with the implementation of JHMCS? Does the out of control CAP have any airspeed considerations? Do we fly our mission differently now that we are outside of a survivable ejection envelope for more of our sortie time? I completely disagree that any attempt has been made to mitigate ejection risk. The fact that ejecting at the slowest possible airspeed was already the safest way to eject does not mean we are compensating for JHMCS limitations.

I question how a helmet mounted cueing system that kills you if you eject too fast passed into active service. We don't mitigate that risk at all - we just accept it because we have no other choice. I can't knock off my JHMCS like I do my NVGs. To say that ACES II is so safe that we shouldn't be developing or investigating new technologies is unsat in my opinion. I love that my seat is 0/0, but it'd be great if it wouldn't dislocate my knees and potentially break my back in an ejection.

Our wing stan eval shop was good enough to send out a wing email advertising the base aero club's ATP services prior to the FAA changes next year. I guess they're more concerned about the futures of the service members than what you consider acceptable work discussions. Really, why not eliminate all of our transition programs too? If conversations about post employment should be banned, then post employment services should have no place in our organization as well.

I am shocked that a guy would be found innocent by a court martial board and still have a senior leader consider him guilty. Huge foul.
